great music from kenya
Many comments below mention cherished memories of the past and disappointment with current music.
I am not disappointed with current music, it is not the same as in the past only different.
I am only disappointed that I do not have the same cherished memories for the reason I was born outside of the continent and my family is non-african.
But my children now already have those memories because I am that dad to them who plays African music when inside a car
Who else listens to this song in 2024??

Les Wanyika is a prominent band with Tanzanian and Kenyan members based in Nairobi, Kenya. It was formed in 1978 when drummer Rashid Juma, guitarist Omar Shabani, bassist Tommy Malanga, saxophonist Sijali Salum Zuwa and Phoney Mkwanyule left the Simba Wanyika Band.

Today 27th March 2021 makes me the latest to watch this song and once I'm no more, people will remember that I existed in 2021 🤣
Apparently this song was written by Professor Shaban, he had gone to a local club in kariakor Nairobi and stumbled upon a beautiful lady, he started throwing his lines then suddenly the original custodian returned from the washroom only to find the talented professor spitting his wisdom to the lady. A fracas ensued between the two men(Both were married men and had left their wives at home only to come fight over some random lass at the joint. After returning home the good professor decided to do a song on the same, Tom Malanga did an excellent job on the vocals. This is a true story as told by one of the founding members of les wanyika.
You Are Right. The Song Is Based On A Real Life Experience Encountered By Professor Shaban.

The song is about two guys arguing about a lady though they are both married. The chorus is wataka kuniua bure.. why do you want to kill me, while you have your wife at home and so do I. Why are we hating each other ... 😁
Sina makosa we baba-I am not at fault, man.... wataka kuniua bure baba- you want to kill me for nothing man.. .hasira za nini baba-- why are you angry ,man..... yule si wako wala si wangu--she is not yours neither is she mine---chuki ya nini kati yangu mimi na wewe--why the hatred between you and I....wewe una wako nami nina wangu-you have your woman and i have mine. Sorry If I did not follow the song when interpreting.
Just like former President of Botswana Masire, he loved the song and had great dance moves for it, his entourage always stopped to watch him do his thing on the floor with those shiny black shoes and nice suit
