  • George Church is probably the most well-known geneticist of our time. And not just because he once wanted to bring the wholly mammoth back or reverse aging in humans (but it sure helped!). A pioneer in gene-editing in the 90s, he's mostly working on getting more and more people to have their genome sequenced. What's next in this field?
Hello Tomorrow is a global organisation dedicated to leveraging deep technologies to help solve world challenges. Through our Global startup Challenge, which has had 18,000 applications from over 100 countries since 2014, we identify deeptech solutions by partnering with universities and research labs. We empower the pioneers who drive these solutions and connect them with industry leaders, investors, researchers and regulators through conferences and networking events in 11 countries. In addition to facilitating a global deeptech ecosystem, we offer consulting services to help companies integrate deep tech into their strategies, enable their organisation to adapt to faster and more open innovation, and train them to be more agile.

Relative to all the other times in history, we're advancing extremely quickly.

Genetic engineering has been advancing at a super-exponential rate. You can hardly get faster.

With artificial intelligence and quantum computing, it will be much faster.

Life on this planet for over 4 billion years has been clueless and at complete mercy of evolution. We sequenced the human genome only 15 years ago and have been making rapid progress. Put things into perspective. We all want progress to accelerate.

@@Metacognition88 Then life became self-aware and started to edit its own genome.
