My wife got me one of these for Christmas. I just spent $1000. on an S23+ cell phone which I love. Takes awesome pictures and videos. I can upload youtube videos directly from the phone to the internet, and have them all edited beforehand right on the phone. Honestly, I do not know why she got me this small device, Gopro, for me. Kind of new to me. The resolutions and capabilities don't come close to my S23+. Suppose I should return it?
I recently got the GoPro 12, and I feel it adds many new opportunities for cool shots (I also use a Mavic 2, RX100, and iPhone for photography). I’ve started with helmet mounts, suction cup, floating handle, flexible tripod. It’s a lot of fun if you like to get creative with video and photo. The minus I see is that battery time on time lapse is a bit poor so you’d need a big power bank if you’re filming for hours. I got 4 batteries and a car charger so that I never run out of batteries.
After watching your videos I bought one today. My kids got me a ride in a P51 as a gift and I bought it to document that ride. It'll be in late June in GA... so hot. Sitting in my office in air-conditioning ~70F it overheated and shut off after about 20 minutes. The ride, like I mentioned before, is in late June in Georgia, in a bubble of a cockpit in direct sun and will be 30 minutes of flight time. I'm not impressed at all. How do I keep this thing cool?
Hey, i have a question, so i just bought the gopro 12 and its been great but in the app when i download the videos captured in 5.3k it shows a black screen and it only has a sound. Even after i captured a video in 4k its still shows a black screen with a sound. Is my phone too bad or whats the problem if you know?? Thanks
It would be very very useful if you would be so kind and do a video explaining how to connect the GoPro 12 to a large screen 4K or 8k TV. I bet that 90 % of the people who record in 5.3 or 4K do NOT know how to watch their videos in the resolution they recorded them! What is the use of all your recommended settings for the best available video quality if you do not know how to watch them on your big screen? I requested this video before but so far you did not react to this very useful request. Thanks for your time! Gabor

I usually recommend editing the videos before watching them on a TV for a better viewing experience, but I'm sure other people are watching their raw videos also.

Will this pick up our conversations or can i isolate so i can review the bike im riding without hearing their voices. However i may want to include our conversations now and then . At the moment i using a insta 360 Rs one modular with a wired helmet mic. Its very hit and miss. I have looked at the DJI osmo action 4 . Can u help please.

Hi Jordan. I'm a basic photographer and I'm looking at buying a GoPro to take storm chasing in the USA next year. Some friends have said it would be a lighter option to carry around than my regular heavy Nikon camera. What, GoPro would you recommend for taking photos and videos of storms and possible tornados? Because I would be coming from Australia, I would be limited in what luggage I can bring with me, so it would need to be light and 'dummy' friendly. Please let me know what you think. Much appreciated. Bev

Hi Jordon. I just got a new go pro hero 10 and am learning the basics in editing on the quick app. Could you do a video on how to add music to a portion of a video? I can't seem to get it in just one spot. Also I'm having trouble with speeding up parts of my videos any help would be awesome

Hey Jordan! Big fan! I just brought my gopro12 as a beginner and I brought your book as well! Im getting it all set up and adding the presets you have available. I’m confused on one part. The presets that doesn’t mention Hypersmooth (for example Water, Air, Outdoor, Selfie) does that mean you want me to turn Hypersmooth off? I can’t tell what you want me to do. Hi Brett, Great question! The vertical aspect ratio is only available in Video Mode and TimeWarp Video. For vertical photos, you will need to crop them. I hope that helps!
Hi, Great question. No, all of the action cameras use wide angle lenses for filming subjects that are close to the camera. For filming surfing from the shore, you will need a telephoto lens (at least 200mm, depending on your surf spot) or a video camera with the ability to zoom in really far.
Hi Nick, The Max Lens Mod does not come with the Hero 12 Creator Edition on GoPro's website. I did put a link though in the video description to a bundle that Adorama sells with the Creator Edition contents and the Max Lens Mod 2.0. I hope that helps!

As far as I can tell, you cant film vertical in LOG, right?
They kept the feature of "overheating shut down" common to all GoPros 💀

Can the vertical shot be used in photo mode.. such as photo Timelapse or burst mode?
