Blake’s 7 is a terrific series.. looking forward to picking it up on bluray as soon as I can. Only just finished rewatching it on dvd, so it’s not high priority, but who needs an excuse to rewatch good sci-fi again!
Awesome video, Elliot! I'd love to see you cover TV series on Blu/4K more often. I'm a huge fan of quality television, but I know not many PM channels cover shows. So, thank you for doing this! And I hope you do more.
The Box of Delights BBC adaptation is better than the book imo. It's very well made. Love this video Elliot. I think we would be interested in you taking your time with these classics, what worked and what didn't work for you. I am in my 50s, so I have seen most of these over time in SD. The fact they are getting BD release is great. I hope they keep this up with shows like Tenko, Brideshead Revisited and Porterhouse Blue.
Love the proliferation of TV new and old on bluray, but I do wish they were more consistent and reliable. So many issues from one release to the next between phenomenal shows like Better Call Saul and Mr Robot being in exceedingly cheap/flimsy overstuffed clamshells, revised music licensing on all kinds of series which initially had great soundtracks, and things like the recent I Love Lucy AI debacle. It seems like it's always something, but I do absolutely treasure some releases like the Twin Peaks Z to A box, Star Trek TOS with the optional original effects versions, etc
I regularly buy the classic BBC blu rays (Doctor Who, Blake’s 7 etc) as they are worth upgrading archive material and the restoration work alone is some of the best I’ve seen. I find the whole genre of classic tv on blu ray to be very over looked as they’re a worthwhile addition when restored properly. If you get the chance, I’d recommend the tv series the Prisoner on blu ray, also give a Doctor Who story called Spearhead From Space a watch which is easily available on blu ray relatively cheap, it’s self contained and a rare example of a BBC show made entirely on film.
I haven't got Friends on 4K yet and don't know if I will due to the cost! I'll certainly talk about when I do though, same with Sopranos when that would come out!
I was a little disappointed with the picture quality of Blakes 7. I appreciated the updated effects, but the overall image quality suffers at times. And yes, later year Columbos do look a little off. But you are absolutely correct; even subpar Columbo is still well worth watching.
Imprint in Australia have been on a roll as of late, releasing great TV series on blu ray like the man in a suitcase and the persuaders for example. I'd love Warner archive to release the original tom and jerry cartoon series one day on blu ray.
I'd never heard of Simsala Grimm but now I know something that rhymes with Zimzalabim! (that's a kpop reference you probably won't get but I'm so amazed I have to mention it, lol) I haven't seen Columbo but it seems like it'll be a nice cozy mystery series. I love Murder, She Wrote so hopefully it's in that same vein. I definitely want to get to it at some point :) The Box of Delights looks cute!
I used to watch Doctor Who with my kids on American public television back in the 1990s and it would be followed often by Blake's 7, a show I never really got into but I did spot watch it and now have pangs of nostalgia thinking about those times now that you've mentioned the show.
@@ElliotCoen Alas, there's no Bluray release for this show. Only DVD releases. The individual seasons are out of print, but Amazon still has the complete series in print and available (at least in the US.)
I only really get comedies on physical media and then second hand. I've recently been rewatching Black Books and I have Blackadder and Green Wing on dvd. Later today I will be picking up the bluray of Band of Brothers and the 4k Wallace and Gromit collection. I'd love the BBC to release a bluray of Detectorists.
Thanks for watching! Have you been enjoying any television on physical media lately, new or old?
I've been thoroughly enjoying rewatching Twin Peaks!

Thank you, Daniel! I'll be featuring more TV on blu-ray in the near future :)
I ordered the Blakes 7 Blu-ray set - supposed to come in a couple weeks in the states.
Enjoy it when it arrives :)
I’m watching Twin Peaks the return for the first time and got it on Blu-ray from my local library!

Great to see The Box of Delights getting some love. Watch it every Christmas and just started the new blu release 🎄
I think it's about to become a new Christmas tradition for me. Cheers!
I recently finished the blu ray set of the Battlestar Galactica reboot. What an amazing show!
I purchased the Bluray set some months ago and I'm currently in the middle of Season 3. It's such a great show! I absolutely love it!
Big fan of Columbo. In most he knows who done it, he just needs to prove it! And he always does!
I wish we still had new Columbo to watch but no one could do it like Peter Falk!
I'm very pumped for the Seinfeld 4k box set coming in mid-December
Oh me too! One of my favourite TV shows of all time
We just finished season 1-2 of Dark Winds, waiting for season 3. We have enjoyed it a lot.
Season 3 is coming early next year I think! Exciting
Terry Nation was the brainchild of the Daleks in Doctor Who. He also created Blakes 7. That is the connection with Doctor Who.
Ah thank you!
Love the new format!! I enjoyed it very much. Look forward to your next instalment.😊👍🏻
Thank you very much!

I’ve seen bits of The Prisoner over the years but I must see it in full. Thanks for the recommendations, Ryan!
I wonder if Elliot will review friends 4K , I am looking forward to the sopranos 4K

Liked the "just one more thing" 😂
I enjoyed doing that bit :)

Been watching Taxi, no nostalgia for it, really great show
Taxi is one of the best sitcoms. I love that show!
Where can I watch it? It sounds great

Is the paddington bear region free?
It's Region B locked unfortunately!
My mom really loves Columbo as well....
She has good taste then!
How are the Kino Lorber Monk releases?
I don’t have those so can’t say, but they’d be nice to get someday!
@@ElliotCoen They are crazy expensive too
They are all excellent. Highly recommended. You'll have to buy the recent made-for-TV movie separately.
Didn’t like any of ur TV picks! Maybe up to date will be better!
@@willgatlin8229 I’m amazed that you’ve watched all of these!
