@1:42 One of the reasons I still use dSLRs is exactly because unlike my mirrorless, when I land a shot in focus of some action, the feeling of achievement is way higher than knowing the computer did it for me --- even more the case if in manual focus BTW
Dual Card slots (CFExpress Type B card + HD card), ENEL-15C battery and Stacked CMOS Sensor could be THE D500 Replacement. That would be the real Flagship Crop body which D500 was at its time.
In terms of Function the Z50 II is a replacement for the D500. However in terms of feel the only Z camera that matches the D500 is the Z8. People looking thru there rose colored glasses at the past tend for forget that the D500 was a rather large and heavy camera and only the Z8 matches that bulk.
I'm getting it this week with 16-50 mm and 50-250 mm kit lenses to replace my D7000 . I think the build quality are more on par with each other than D500, which i believe to be a little better than the D7000 series. Just my opinion. I also have a Z6ii, but that's for full frame stuff.
I have the z50 which i was quite happy with. And now i bought the z50ii, it's so much snappier and acquires focus much easier. It still hunts a bit on smaller targets and where light isn't ideal but overall I'm very pleased. Bird detect was the main selling point for me
Can we add ibis via firmware update lololol Ohh nikon . make a D500 replacement already . video with non vr lenses with the z50ii is basically not useable .
Well am completely okay with not having IBIS as long as am not shooting videos and complex stills that much , and thank you for explaining so much better about this beast camera that has awesome capabilities , buying with the 16-50 & 50--250 kit lens soon.....
Some very good thoughts and a good perspectives. I do believe it is not a replacement for D500. @Frames, think there is something off with the colour grading with the video.
@FramesTM, been watching A LOT of videos in YT, and this video’s color is obviously off. Maybe it’s how YT renders the video? I don’t know, I’m not a creator, just someone who watch YT contents. 😃
The Z50 II is a very good DX camera. But talking about the D300/D500 replacement means, it’s rugged and can handle the elements. It should be excellent for bird and wildlife that you can take with you on hikes, rain or shine. Z9 or even the Z8 are too big, and the full frames are wasted as you’ll end up cropping. The Z50 II is not that.
Why would anyone seriously think the Z50 II is a mirrorless replacement for the D500? It’s a lower-end $907 camera for heaven’s sake! It’s a good camera at a good price for what it does but it’s certainly NOT the mirrorless equivalent of the pro-body, crop sensor camera that the D500 was. That camera came out at about $2,000 and people understood why compared to all the other crop sensor camera offerings at the time. It was the best in class. The Z50 II is not meant to be that camera. Let’s hope Nikon is still going to give that to us soon.
Love the Z50II. For me, I'm not looking for a D500 replacement. The IQ is as good or better than the D500. So it does not have dual card slots, and a smaller battery, but the D500 does not have Expeed 7, it has outdated video features, no flip screen and a lot bigger and heavier. The AF on the Z50II is more advanced than the D500. For the Z50II to have a bigger battery, dual card slots and stacked sensor, it will be too big, too expensive and too heavy for an APSC camera.
It's more of a D7500 replacement than a D500 replacement. The D500 is a professional body, weather sealed, dual card slots, bigger battery, battery grip option, etc. The Z50 II isn't.
To me it is not a flagship. Of course you can achieve good results, but it is just not a D500 to me. The Canon r7, the Fuji XHs, the OM 1 are crop sensor flag ships and that is what a D500 replacement should go against. That Ibis, decent battery life and weather sealing is not important to you, does not mean it is not important to other people. I am not even beginning to speak of resolution and read-out speed. Anyways... it is a good camera from what I learned.
@@FramesTM I give you that. Let's say enthusiast/pro DX. And the Z50 II is simply not of that category. And before you ask: no I have not shot with the Z50II.
@FramesTM well it might be better (I haven't tried the z50ii) but it's still not a D500 replacement. The D500 is a professional camera with dual card slots, weather sealing and handles well with large telephoto lenses, the z50ii is a d5600/d7500 replacement.

Nice thorough presentation. I do not understand about the type or size of SD card to use in this camera. Please explain.
Just get the cheap Sandisk V30 marked red branded cards. Ideally 128GB
I don’t need a D500 replacement. Just add IBIS and I will buy this now!
Can we add ibis via firmware update lololol Ohh nikon . make a D500 replacement already . video with non vr lenses with the z50ii is basically not useable .
@ I wish, lol!

I would say take the 23mm f1.7 instead of the 16-50
@@FramesTM Thank you for your suggestion and one more question 😅
Should I go for Sandisk V60 UHS II or V90?
As you know V90 is kind costlier
Some very good thoughts and a good perspectives. I do believe it is not a replacement for D500. @Frames, think there is something off with the colour grading with the video.
It has to be screen settings. Looks ok on my devices
@FramesTM, been watching A LOT of videos in YT, and this video’s color is obviously off. Maybe it’s how YT renders the video? I don’t know, I’m not a creator, just someone who watch YT contents. 😃
Frames do you think Nikon will introduce a Z70 or 790 with IBIS etc larger and more expensive?
I don’t know if they will. But they certainly should launch one competing with A6700.

If price made a camera flagship then the Z9 wouldn’t be one

But then the D500 wasn’t as capable in AF, video and multipurpose use cases.
Therefore D500 doesn’t win against the Z50ii. It’s an equal.
Great

Ayto ghono jongole gaycho ?????
It should just be called computer photography now LOL - pretty soon AI will leave the house for you
True
Not even close to d500 replacement.
Yes the Z50II is better.

Nope
Don’t agree
