I'm a strictly amateur bird photographer and I have loved my Z50 and am eagerly upgrading to the Z50ii primarily for the improved autofocus and bird tracking. I think many reviewers miss the mark when they say beginner or entry level, don't forget the amateurs who may not need all the bells and whistles that the pro's want. Plus, remember the glass you're using is more important than the camera body, anyhow.
For me, it's not a "pro" body because it only had one card slot. If one is being paid for their photos, they need a backup. It's not meaning "pro" as in better, but pro as in profesional.
In my owner experience, the Z50 autofocus was noticeably slower than the Z6ii. The Zf, also Expeed 7, is noticeably better than the Z6ii. The autofocus for the Z50ii will be a giant improvement for any longtime user of a Z50. I just wish there were more compact, fast DX lenses. Ideally 35mm field of view equivalents to 24, 28, 35, and 50mm and at f/1.8 or f/2.
When I first read the specs for the new Z50 II, I felt like the upgrades were mostly in line what I would have wanted. Specifically the new autofocus capabilities (bird detection) and the flip screen (great for landscape orientation photos where you need to get low, saves the knees lol). The larger body also appeals to me. I went from D300, D600 to D7500 (still use them all) to Z50 (and Z30) and now have preordered the Z50 II. I use a combination of Z DX and F mount lenses along with the FTZ. I am primarily into landscapes and wildlife. IBIS is not that important to me as I have mostly VR lenses. This was a great review Matt. Your content is always top notch. Thanks for doing what you do. -Andy
I just got my Z50ii today with 16-50 & 50-250 kit lenses. I loved my Z50 but the advantages highlighted in your video are the reasons I upgraded, especially as the changes to the AF system make it much easier for my wife to quickly pick up and shoot more ‘keepers’ with no hassle (her words 😂). I also have a blue ZF and Z8 so I’m looking forward to trying the FX lenses I already have with this new body. In fact due to the Z50ii’s light weight, its alignment closer to other models and arthritis in my hands the Z8 may soon be sold. Not sure how much use the 50-250 will get as I already have the FX 24-200 but as the kit cost was so reasonable I decided I’d try it out. Thanks for producing so many inspiring videos.
I appreciated the low weight and small size of the Z50 but it was a bit too short for me as my pinky would dangle a bit on the grip. I never got used to the touch buttons and the AF was Nikon’s gen 1 tech so it wasn’t as responsive as my other cameras. The Expeed 7 makes this a much higher performing camera and having all those additional features like assisted manual focus means a much more capable one as well. I think this camera is a bargain.
Sold my Z50 as a full kit for a new starter in DSLMs. My Z50II 2 lens kit arrives Friday. I'm happy with the extra size and buttons. EXPEED 7 will make AF a lot better. It will be my travel and walk-around camera and a buddy to my Z 6III.
Thinking about doing the same. The question that I have is do you think the Z6III can do it all? Be the every day carry. The reason that I ask is I'm wondering if the added bulk and weight to the Z50II will make it feel redundant to the Z6III. Would love your thoughts on it after you have it in hand.
"3D Tracking" has always existed on every Nikon Z, but under a different name, called "Subject Tracking". And "Subject Tracking" on your Z50 is way much better than on your old D5300.
I'm using a ZFC and happy so far. But I've ordered the Z50 ii in case of the AF. I'm using mainly the Viltrox 13mm, Viltrox 20mm, Nikon Z50mm and the Nikon Z50-250mm
Excellent comparison, Matt! This is the camera I wanted back when I passed over the Z50 for a second Z6. The new flippy screen solves the issue of tripod/monopod obscuring the LCD (though SmallRiig made a bracket to offset) ... but, of course, the Expeed 7 has enabled many of the amazing advances in this second iteration. Too bad there's that pesky EN-EL25a battery, which was one of the things I said held me back in a video I made at the time. Too bad, especially with this larger body, Nikon couldn't squeeze in an EN-EL15c. Still, this is a great update I'd consider if not for the fact that I've run out of GAS ... for now.😀
I have the Z9 and Zf yet I’m picking this new Z50II up today. I think it’s a great option for starters but also for pros. Great smaller option that packs a lot of punch. While some say it’s not a D500 replacement, outside of the more robust build of the D500 I disagree. This packs better specs as far as AF. Personally, I’m not worried about IBIS but do wish they would have incorporated a second card a lot like the Zf.
I agree, I sold my D500 very reluctantly last year and loved the higher spec ‘D’ models due to the built in AF drive, but as this is no longer an issue with Z motorised lenses the Z50ii is a worthy LIGHTWEIGHT substitute with additional features, in my humble opinion 😁😉
@ Now that I’ve had the Z50II in my hands and set it up there are 2 distinct aspects of it. It is incredibly capable and one heck of an entry level camera. If this was my first camera starting out, smart choice. It packs a lot of pro punch in a cheap body. From a professional side of things it’s still a great choice but it does make me long for some sort of Z80/Z90 as the Z50II is definitely not as robust and you would not want to chance unsupported big glass on the mount, rain, bumps, etc. Obviously for those crying for a true D500 replacement this is not it but the price doesn’t reflect that either. A true D500 in Z mount would be in the Zf price range. I absolutely love the Zf and is my main go to but porting that system into a Z8 style body with APSC would be a solid D500 replacement.
3:39 AH! All the bodies have Menu / top, Play / bottom... except for the Zf. I can program DISP to be Play... but that reverses their position compared to the others. Messes with my muscle memory 🤯😆 Minor, but I wish the Zf matched. Maybe they'll allow the Menu button to be programmed(?). Excellent updates in the Z50 II, it's a little powerhouse 💪🏻📷
When deciding whether the Z50ii can be considered as a replacement for a D500, no review I've seen answers the most important question. When shooting at a high mechanical shutter rate (to avoid rolling shutter), does the camera focus speed combined with the evf refresh rate or blackout allow a user to accurately visually track a fast moving object? Something the Z50 was not capable of easily doing.
I have the Z8 for professional photography and have the Z50 including all dx lenses with me about almost all the time. I can not wait to upgrade my everyday camera to Z50II. What an amazing upgrade. There is only one thing i miss that is 'banks'. That would make it the 'mini z8'. But, in my personal opinion it is the best lightweight small everyday camera to buy.
Just discovered one interesting fact on the Z50II that kind of does and kind of doesn’t surprise me (based on the cost). It doesn’t have a sensor cleaning function. I know it’s an old sensor but it’s nice having some sort of dust deterrent system built in.
The z50 is a great little camera and will get cheaper now. The 50ii is a worthy update but I am not sure it offers enough to justify an upgrade. Great review Matt. Most of what I do, the 50 is able to do it. I will wait for the z50iii
@ Thanks for the correction. I’ve been trying to find a user manual from Nikon ever since the Z50 ll was announced Edit to update: User manual download link available at Nikon Rumors
My Olympus has the 2 front function buttons near the lens mount. It's the OM-D E-M1X. I believe my E-M5 mk II may have had them as well. But I use them often on my Z5.
I love my Z50 so much. The only thing that would make me switch to the 2. version instantly would be, if it had IBIS. Sadly, it does not, maybey thats the reason, why the rivallling top models are a little bit more expansive......
I must admit. It is intriguing, because, as I age, more and more I am looking at lighter and smaller kit for cycling, hiking, and travel. Lugging a pro body and an f2.8 trinity set, on holiday, is just a non starter now. I have a Zfc with 12-24mm PZ, 24mm f1.4, 40mm f2.8 Z, Viltrox 56mm f1.7 and 18-140mm Z…a tidy little “on the move” kit, when I don’t want to lug my D850, Zf or Z7II. APC Zooms for day, primes at night. I adore my retro Zs, but a faster AF, ergo camera for travel is definitely an option I will explore in the future. Then again, it is difficult not to live with a bit extra weight of my Zf, 24-120mm Z and Voigtlander 40mm f1.2, for trips…like more than enough, combined with a smartphone.
I’ve got my Z50 ii this week… the AF makes the difference. The 3D tracking with subject recognition is gorgeous. In comparison with my ZFC I‘ve got the feeling of a new camera.
Look at the plug on the cabled remote. It has 4 segments and not 3 like a stereo plug. The added one is most likely for the remote to work, so it is a hardware thing and not a firmwear thing.
Thanks for the video, Matt! I have the original Z50, and have found it suffers terribly from rolling shutter in electronic shutter mode. Since the sensor is the same between old and new, is it fair to assume the mark 2 sees little to no change with rolling shutter..? Also, you mentioned we only get jpegs in e-shutter on the new version. If below 15fps in e-shutter, can we get raw files? (I thought the original still offers raw in e-shutter.) Thanks, in advance, for your reply and insights!
Hi Thomas, Regarding E-shutter, to clarify, I meant in the C-15 and C-30 it is jpeg only. 11FPS RAW mech shutter. Max e-shutter RAW I will have to clarify. This is what is on Nikons site "Approx. Frame Advance Rate Continuous low-speed: Approx. 1 to 5 fps Continuous high-speed: Approx. 5.6 fps (when using silent mode and image quality settings other than NEF (RAW) and NEF (RAW) +: Approx. 9.7 fps) Continuous high-speed (extended): Approx. 11 fps (in silent mode: Approx. 15 fps) High-speed frame capture + (C15): Approx. 15 fps High-speed frame capture + (C30): Approx. 30 fps * Maximum frame advance rate as measured by in-house tests." www.nikonusa.com/p/z50ii/1784/overview#tech-specs As for rolling shutter, I have not performed a side by side test. I will endeavour to do so before I have to send the Z50II back. Cheers Matt
You forgot to mention the additional U3 switch position, a very important update! What about battery capacity and audio quality? Is it the same or is it improved? I have the Z50 with the 180-600 mm tele-zoom for bird photography. Often I reach the limitations with low battery and too slow autofocus. Otherwise it’s a great camera for wildlife.
Just preordered the Z50 ii for son (13) 😅 … an excuse for myself. I have the Z8 and would like a lighter camera for travel and city walks, so will surely borrow it often. 😅 Bought the double kit with 16-50 and 50-250, although I was tempted to take the 18-140, but then I would have to purchase the 16-50 separate in addition which would cost a lot more. Anyway, excited to try it. Lots of camera and lenses for the money. Thank's for great review. 😊
Yes I believe its a valid upgrade from my Z50...mostly will be used in video situations on stabilizer with Viltrox lenses, i hate the kit lenses..the Camera has always been a great photo camera for me, the Z50II looks like its better suited...the question is how important is IBIS for me for video or well lit photography ? For Video and my youtube content creation it is GOLD better buy than the Z30 for sure...
Looks a great camera and a great upgrade to the first version and I hear you about the VR, which I feel would have been a real nice to have, but the amount of peeps who've been hugely disappointed by the lack of in body VR (IBIS) has been surprising; it feels like everywhere I look everyone keeps on saying that in 2024 there's no reason to no longer have bodies without VR as the competition has been adding it to their bodies and I guess they have a point. Still, I think this will likely fly off the shelves and it could turn out to be a huge success; although, most peeps who were hoping for such a camera probably moved on a while ago. IMO Nikon could have done with releasing this way sooner as the likes of Canon and Sony released competing APS-C models long ago. So in a way it's also quite likely that existing Nikon Z users will make up a larger portion of the audience for this camera, unlike the target market you discussed, and then we're back to the lack of VR topic again LOL
Now I'm pondering if the Z50II would make sense as a second camera next to my Z7II... 🤔 Basically as a secondary camera specifically for challenging conditions when the AF of the Z7II would struggle and for the better options when it comes to shooting video.
Excellent review! In order to move from my Fuji XS20 and consolidate into one system, I need Nikon to offer faster native zooms for indoor use. I'll wait.
in my opinion the limiting factors for this new camera are: - fastest time limited to 1/4000 with mechanical shutter - Pre-Capture Release only in jpeg - perhaps problems with rolling shutter with electronic shutter (not being a stacked sensor)
I was thinking to upgrade my Z50 I to Z50 II when it was rumors-stage, but now when it is released, not. I was expected have ibis and maybe ~25 mpixels.
I would love it if that remote shutter release cable worked on my Zf. Probably too much to ask, but bluetooth shutter release on a retro camera is just too stupid for me to even begin to embrace.
12 Dec 2024 (US) - NEW Adobe Update LR 14.1, Camera Raw 17.1 - "Final" Z50ii on list of supported cameras. Now supports HE* Raw. Just tested it. Lossless Compressed file was 23.06 MB and the HE* Raw was 14.64 MB. Both labeled .NEF in LR and in File Type in Metadata listing. Only way to tell is to look at Metadata (EXIF and IPTC) at File Size.
I would be interested in upgrading from my Z50 but as a pure amateur I am not sure my budget could justify an upgrade. There is always new tech to temp the money out of our pockets. Maybe if my current Z50 stops working!!
Today I received my Z50II. My first experience is that the camera did not turn on with the Patona Protect EN-EL25 batteries, only with the original Nikon batteries.
Not sure if I missed it but how is the battery life of the Z50ii compared to the Z50? I know they used a slightly better battery but with all the new processors and such do we see any improvements or about the same?
I have not done field testing yet. With these small battery cameras I would always carry 1 or 2 extra for a day out. 😀 And of course you can USB-C power in all the time.
The Z50II has better capacity but due to the more powerful Expeed 7, less life. They keep saying the A version is longer lasting but seem to be missing that it’s relative to the original in the Z50II. The Z50 gets more shots with the old but the new Z50II gets less even with the updated A variant when compared to the Z50.
Hi! I'm about to purchase my first camera, and I'm undecided between two options: Nikon Z50 with two lenses (16-50mm and 50-250mm) for €999. Nikon Z50II with a single lens (16-50mm) for €1,159, but with an improved processor. In your opinion, which one is better for a beginner, considering the price and general use? Thanks for your help!
You mentioned that the Nikon Z50II can upload directly to cloud storage services like Google Drive and Dropbox via Nikon Imaging Cloud. I haven’t found any information on whether it can directly transfer files to a Synology NAS. Is there any way to set up an integration between Synology NAS and Nikon Imaging Cloud? Is there’s a way to automatically transfer images from Nikon Imaging Cloud directly to my Synology NAS?
NY NY Too bad, ,sort of that no DX Z for me, unless a more advanced body in MP and controls (I would pay more for) will happen. But really, no reason for me to have DX Z, IMHO - neither cost, size or weight consideration is significant for me. Though it is a negative or me for a Z8. It's more advanced, than my more ordinary needs call for ,a bit big and heavy and would have been a stretch to pay for. So this year I got a Zf and Z7ii and bunch of lenses instead. I like your cityscape / evening pics. Would be a blast to go along.
Puh, nice. Thank. Im not sure that my idea make sense. Change my D7500 to a Z Entry Z50ii. I like the idea of that Expeed7. Dark sport rooms (kids make gymnastics) with my AF-P Nikkor 70-300mm 1:4.5-5.6E ED VR lens (will it use on the FTZ). Doeas anyone know if a Sigma 17-70 CF will work on a FTZ?
I use a D7500 for aviation photography and the Z50 II is a good candidate as a replacement for it when the time comes. However, I wish that the sensor was a new one so that I can more easily justify it as an upgrade. IBIS isn't as important to me (I have the less effective VR lenses) but those who shoot video will absolutely need it. So Nikon must really have thought long and hard about it because they needed to keep the price down to an affordable level.
It looks like Nikon is on a 4 or 5 year refresh rate. With 8 current models that's 1 or 2 per year In understand that Nikon need time and need to get their R&D back. But at my age waiting 4 or 5 years for a new model is quite a long time
Yes, I know. I'm repetitive. 2024 and no IBIS. I would trade easily the new features for just the IBIS and two slots. And the new buttons. Those on the screen of the z50 are so annoying
Thanks for the review. Just ordered Z50 II. I Have Z50, Z5, ZF, and ZFc. My hands are pretty arthritic, so do better with smaller, lighter cameras. Regards.
As always, I dont like entry level cameras for the most part. They do one thing really well - provide great quality photos and videos. After that, it's mostly all down hill. Here's why. 1. Relatively poor, low resolution viewfinder. After you see better EVF's i5s hard to "unsee" how much difference this makes. 2. Lack of IBIS. This is not a minor issue if you plan to go beyond kit lenses. It would be different if most of the better lenses were stabilized but they're not. 3. Lack of two card slots. Two card slots are a lifesaver if you have corruption or lose a card. This is not just for pro's. Who wants to lose family photos from a once in a lifetime vacation? I am still annoyed by Nikon's poor decision to not have card slots that allow for backup video on a second card slot on their higher end cameras. Overall, lack of a 2nd card slot I would describe as less important than the poor viewfinder and lack of IBIS. I feel the same way about other vendor's low end cameras as well. You just sacrifice too much if you really want to get serious about photography. So what is the solution? Buy a better camera used. You can get a practically new Nikon ZF for under $1500 if you're willing to purchase user to user. That is a pretty small difference from the new price of a Z50 II and you get all the extra quality of life enhancement, making your experience better and giving you some future proofing. Too me, these cameras a designed to get you into the system knowing those who want more will quickly want to upgrade to something better. It's just my opinion,. Note that image quality will be more than good enough on these entry level cameras, and that is the most important thing.
The true problem is the amount of the lenses : there are so few DX lenses, out there, and those that Nikon realised suck, because of their dark apertures! It's totally clear they don't care a rap about Apsc world! D.
Matt, please don't feed into the flip down + waist level + overhead screen was a bad idea. It was a great idea. If anyone needed to see themselves while it's on a tripod, to check focus, record indicator, Snapbridge exist. Fully wireless monitor, remote control for FREE. Now Nikon has 0 APS-C cameras with a waist level viewfinder. Thanks internet 🙄 If you want IBIS, just take that extra cash to purchase a high end gimbal. If you need two card slots, buy a Z5 or Z30. A variable angle LCD screen is terrible for gimbals, terrible for ports, and now your camera is 2x bigger. Nikon creating a detachable EVF for the Z30 could've solved everything.
USB-C has to come, because European Union decided, that with 2025 it will be the only connector for charging for anny kind of device. Shame on Nikon waiting for the very last moment.
As a Z9, Z8,and a Z6iii owner, it offers nothing for me. And why would it. It’s not compatible with my cameras. I’m not who Nikon is aiming at. Thank goodness.
10 Dec 2024 (US) - LR 14.0.1 Camera Raw 17.0 - NO support for HE* Raw format. "Preview image" not available in Library Mode and image does not open. Stick with Lossless Compressed for now. Adobe Camera support for z50ii indicates a Note with double ** "Preliminary support means that the image quality and raw format support for the given camera model is not yet finalized and may be updated in a future release."
Picked it up today, and what a PIA it is to Charge the Battery, as they don't include a Battery Charger, just a USB-C Cable. iPad Charger wouldn't work, neither would any Computer USB C Port. Where did Nikon come up with this Bullshit Idea? Camera Store closed right after I left, so I went to another Dealer with Camera in Hand to see if maybe the Camera was NFG from the Factory. After trying several different USB Chargers, we found one that worked, an Inexpensive 20 watt Model. The Tech used a Cable that report what the Camera was drawing for Power to charge, and that number was 9 watts Camera appears to have very good Low Light Performance, but the Battery doesn't last very long, about 200 Pics

Should sell well for Nikon. I am happy with people buying proper cameras and getting off their hideous phones.
Nikon left out Focus Shift the first time round and now with Xpeed 7 it’s still not available, or did I miss something?
yes, it's in the z50ii
@ Thanks for the correction. I’ve been trying to find a user manual from Nikon ever since the Z50 ll was announced
Edit to update: User manual download link available at Nikon Rumors
Nikon manual available from nikon support site, got a copy last night.
Any idea when z80/90 is expected to launch... ??
4Q 2026
@ShwarcArnold that's too late...
Excellent job, excellent Audio, is that a prop Mic as it doesn't look like its plugged in Via XLR..? LOL
100%.
I see the Rode Pod Mic but no cable? Wireless? Cheers!
Meet "Magic Mic" 🎙️. Shall we say - It was "propping" me up :)
Matt, the Lumix G9 has two function buttons on the front.
May not be the D500 replacement, but as a D7500 user I just bought mine last week. So far, so good.
Well done as usual!!
I didn’t realize the Rode Podmic works without an XLR cable plugged in.
Meet Magic Mic! 🎙️. :) I was experimenting with set ideas, props etc. The actual mic used is hidden.
QQQ.....how is the viewfinder blackout times during high-speed shooting z50 2
What kind of compact speed flash
Hi Thomas,
Regarding E-shutter, to clarify, I meant in the C-15 and C-30 it is jpeg only. 11FPS RAW mech shutter. Max e-shutter RAW I will have to clarify. This is what is on Nikons site
"Approx. Frame Advance Rate
Continuous low-speed: Approx. 1 to 5 fps Continuous high-speed: Approx. 5.6 fps (when using silent mode and image quality settings other than NEF (RAW) and NEF (RAW) +: Approx. 9.7 fps) Continuous high-speed (extended): Approx. 11 fps (in silent mode: Approx. 15 fps) High-speed frame capture + (C15): Approx. 15 fps High-speed frame capture + (C30): Approx. 30 fps * Maximum frame advance rate as measured by in-house tests."
www.nikonusa.com/p/z50ii/1784/overview#tech-specs
As for rolling shutter, I have not performed a side by side test.
Hi sir, what about street photography should I consider z50ii or sony Alpha 6400 E?
Just preordered the Z50 ii for son (13) 😅 … an excuse for myself. I have the Z8 and would like a lighter camera for travel and city walks, so will surely borrow it often. 😅
Bought the double kit with 16-50 and 50-250, although I was tempted to take the 18-140, but then I would have to purchase the 16-50 separate in addition which would cost a lot more.
Does the z50ii have a focus joy stick?.
Is this an ASPC camera?
I'll wait.
in my opinion the limiting factors for this new camera are:
- fastest time limited to 1/4000 with mechanical shutter
- Pre-Capture Release only in jpeg
- perhaps problems with rolling shutter with electronic shutter (not being a stacked sensor)
Looks awesome! I'd like to have one! How do you think it would be in low light?
Crop sensors do better in low light conditions
I was thinking to upgrade my Z50 I to Z50 II when it was rumors-stage, but now when it is released, not. I was expected have ibis and maybe ~25 mpixels.
Very nice video review so …thank you so much
Does 30fps in electronic shutter record in 10bit jpeg or 8bit jpeg only?
will Z5 be better option than Z50 ii coz it has IBIS?
Z7 III
I’d like high resolution but I’d settle for low speed.
I’m thinking a portrait and landscape camera
Does the camera “wake up” faster than the original Z50?
Currently use D7500 with Sigma 150-600 which i love. Z50ii sounds like a good upgrade to that camera if not the D500 ?
Keep in mind that the Z50II is much smaller and it’ll be even more noticeable with big glass.
The mic isnt plugged in
Meet Magic Mic 🎙️
Where is subtitles 😢
UA-cam auto generates them. Should not be long. 😀👍
Hi! I'm about to purchase my first camera, and I'm undecided between two options:
Nikon Z50 with two lenses (16-50mm and 50-250mm) for €999.
I don't know the answer sorry. Is it possible to go from google drive / dropbox etc to your NAS? That could be a work around.
I resisted mirrorless ILC, rather using fixed-lens mirrorless or my DSLRs. The Z50 II lets me ask if I should finally tap into that world.
Z50ii + Z105mm macro lens 2.8f S Prime VR 😊
NY NY
Too bad, ,sort of that no DX Z for me, unless a more advanced body in MP and controls (I would pay more for) will happen.
Huge: The eyepiece is different. I've lost so many eyepieces from my Z50 on the sides of mountain slol
Yes I forgot to mention I believe it is screwed on now :)
I wish they'd put a lock button on the mode dial. That is the only one of my wish list not delivered.
Puh, nice.
I just got a Call from my Dealer, he has One with my Name on it at the Store
I use a D7500 for aviation photography and the Z50 II is a good candidate as a replacement for it when the time comes. However, I wish that the sensor was a new one so that I can more easily justify it as an upgrade. IBIS isn't as important to me (I have the less effective VR lenses) but those who shoot video will absolutely need it. So Nikon must really have thought long and hard about it because they needed to keep the price down to an affordable level.
How would the Z50II compare to, lets say, a Sony A6700?
I love your wireless mic 😂😂😂
Meet Magic Mic 🎙️
It looks like Nikon is on a 4 or 5 year refresh rate.
With 8 current models that's 1 or 2 per year
In understand that Nikon need time and need to get their R&D back.
But at my age waiting 4 or 5 years for a new model is quite a long time
Yes, I know. I'm repetitive. 2024 and no IBIS. I would trade easily the new features for just the IBIS and two slots. And the new buttons. Those on the screen of the z50 are so annoying
Then go buy a Z5 and be happy.
The market segment and price point of the Z50 line make those additions cost prohibitive.
Z50 here is €600 while Z50ii is €1150, both with kit-lenses. So, Z50 is the way to go if you just want do #streetphotography. Or not?
It's just not tempting me when I can get a new z50 for £529
As nice as the upgrades are you can take great photos with the old version.
This camera needs a Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8
Fun fact. The z50ii is cheaper in UK than the z50. A whole 50£ cheaper. Doesn't make any sense
Thanks internet 🙄
If you want IBIS, just take that extra cash to purchase a high end gimbal.
If you need two card slots, buy a Z5 or Z30.
A variable angle LCD screen is terrible for gimbals, terrible for ports, and now your camera is 2x bigger.
Nikon creating a detachable EVF for the Z30 could've solved everything.
Bummer that it grew in size.
Btw, all the sources I've seen also state the Z50 having a 3.2" screen.
Waiting for my Z50II to ship any day now.
I'm glad to see the end of USB micro.
I'll be recommending the Z50ii as a first camera ... 🦘
It’s a great little camera, I’m very impressed with it. 🦘😀
What is this Cloud Stuff?
The Tech used a Cable that report what the Camera was drawing for Power to charge, and that number was 9 watts
Camera appears to have very good Low Light Performance, but the Battery doesn't last very long, about 200 Pics
