What is your opinion about upgrading v.2 with the v.3 malt basket?

I think that is a FANTASTIC idea. I did some looking around and yes this would 100% fit a V2 and should also fit a V1. My G70 has the same style basket and it's excellent. Not once have I experienced a stuck mash because of the perforated edges, not to mention the V3 basket comes with a rolled plate.
Aside from that, not needing a top plate is great too. Have not missed that top plate one bit!
      Thank you for watching!!!

I want to upgrade to a bigger system. I'm choosing between G70 and Brewzilla 65l gen 4 system.
Do you think G70 is worth the extra cost vs. BZ 65l?
I still want to be able to brew smaller batches.

I REALLY like the Grainfather ecosystem. The only downside to the G70 is that the pump inlet is right in the middle of the kettle which means the pump will not work if you are boiling so you have to let it cool a bit before starting to sanitize your chiller.
I have friends who have Brewzilla products and some wish they had gone with Brewtools or a Grainfather because of the interface/app design and I have heard the temperature probe on the Brewzillas can be hit or miss. RAPT leaves a lot to be desired over the Grainfather app. Grainfather has had great support as well. I recall needing a new controller for my G30 early on because it had melted (faulty V1 issue) and they sent a new one no questions asked.
I regularly do 6 Gallon batches on the G70 with high efficiency (80% or so) and have been able to push that up to 18 Gallon batches for club brewdays no problem. I'd buy this system again over a Brewzilla.
      My two cents!
