It's very necessary to buy an SUV. But guys please stop copying the European car journalists,this thing of complaining about the scratchy plastic parts is useless cause no one ever touches there when entering a car not mentioning when driving it. You don't need a fabric in those parts cause they become dirty or filthy and cleaning ends up damaging the fabric. Those parts gets dirty especially when it rains your muddy shoes sometimes touch there and your water or juice bottle can make it wet and it catches some dust and that's a mixture of filth. So you need to understand the engineering or interior design teams decision to ditch a material made of leather or a fabric it's all because of people that complains about a torn leather or a damaged fabric in those parts which are far from your hand and arm so there's no need to complain cause it shows that people don't know much about cars. Just imagine complaining about your expensive sofa or a couches feet made of plastic,rubber or metal would you expect them to also be made of leather or a velvet?
The scratchy plastics are pathetic I am an F series owner and the quality there is far better that these G series interior wise I went straight to BMW to see the new X3 and when I came across those pathetic cheap plastic interior parts there is simply no way I would waste money on such. In case you haven't noticed the trend is to downgrade quality whilst charging the consumer a premium for it, the trend started with Vegan leather nonsense and trying to convince us that no animals were hurt so vegan leather is good. What's next door handles made of recycled plastic and still have consumers willing to pay a premium for it? This has nothing to do with MTG copying European reviewers, the patheticness of the plastic components doesn't change because a reviewer is in a different region. It's still pathetic it's as simple as that!
@sirsilva7079 you went there with the information that you got from the Western and European reviews. But this proves how curious you are as a person,why on earth would you enter a car just to touch a plastic where only your feet will only touch by a mistake and probably won't even feel the quality. Let's use our common sense and stop following the trend just for the sake of it let's use our senses to understand the reasons behind the designers decision. Am a BMW owner my self and knows what I now appreciate the car using a squidgy or scratchy plastic than using a fabric or a leather. No body with brains ever touch down there and even when you touch it doesn't cause any discomfort or hurt you just that you guys listen too much from these journalists payed by other car manufacturers to talk bad about their competitors. I can already sense that it's useless trying to talk about this cause your mind is already filled with that information. Let's hope that you're not one of the polo or corolla drivers which are used to these type of plastic material but will only comment based on hearsay?
@mayormsuthu1465 not with my money no! BMW need to know from clients where they have dropped the ball. That door handle alone on the X3 interior where they have moved seat adjustments control won't even last. Whether the knowledge came from Europe first it doesn't mean me in Africa should just accept sub-standard low quality material at a premium from a premium brand and no I don't need to be convinced otherwise!
i honestly love the exterior looks of the x3, i think it looks grownup, but the interior is horrendous and i'd rather have a raised car height looking at the conditions of our roads, so i therefore pick the x5, 3 series is awesome as always. nice video.
you cant compare the g20 3 series to this new x3, you need to wait for the next gen 3series which will also be full of costcutting an cheap interior like this x3. ive drove both the g20 3series prelci and the g01 x3 lci together for a few years. (both standard suspension/ diesel b47d engines) x3 has better suspensions feels softer over bumps and gives you that typically SUV experience, it sort of hoovers over bumps in comparison to the 3 series which is firmer and feels sporty. the steering wheel feels directer and less loose (heavier) on the x3 than the 3series, i dont know how or why tho. - interior quality is same category so exactly the same, on some years/ some models you have more costcutting on specific small details.
I've driven both quite a bit and I own the x3. You might think the 3 series is more "luxurious" because it has more interior details, all those accents and "design" elements, but the fact of the matter is all of those details are superficial. A lot of stuff that looks like metal is plastic. A lot of stuff that looks like leather is plastic too. x3 is just more honest in its presentation. And clean. I'm not a fan of that ambient light things, looks too much lik a gaming pc and that blob with seat memory and vents controls is silly. but outside of that - a solid vehicle.
You are extremely funny. You are comparing two cars talking nonsense. You didn't discuss cargo space, sitting arrangement, storage and other reasons to choose one over the other. Your video is all over the place.
This is a poor comparison... As highlighted by another commentor, you just focused on styling and the infotainment... None of the other important stuff , not useful at all and the question remains unanswered

Wow that's a compelling argument.... fully agree with you😊

@sirsilva7079 no problem,I hear you.
The new X3 interior is a sad story, compared with the 3 series, especially at that price point😢

X3 is nice but there is some miss when it comes with the quality

I can't get used to the look of the new X3, I find the hideous! It looks horrid..
