Ah Hastings, such lovely memories. My family never had a car, but I remember the yearly holiday by train from Birmingham to Hastings, seemed as if we travelled for days! Not sure why we did the same holiday year after year, but the excitement of spotting the sea and hearing the gulls was wonderful. I loved the ice cream parlour and the cafes with their juke boxes, sixpence a tune, listening to Helen Shapiro over and over. I'm 70 now. Thank you Luke for resurrecting great memories of Hastings. X.
Showing that clip from lockdown with you and Zara dancing made me realize I liked your longer hair better than the shaved look. Glad you had fun in France
Chocolat chaud is hot chocolate. French sometimes have it in a bowl for breakfast or after school and dip their croissant in it or their slices of bread with Nutella.
Lovely homeware Luke. Hope you had some wonderful socca in Nice. One of the wonderful things about Nice when I visited. Lovely vlog and gorgeous Maggie must be so happy to be coming home soon. Thanks for the gentle, mindful way you chat with us all- so peaceful 🙏
Maybe you should do swingdance classes! I do them, we do all the vintage dances, charleston, shag, lindy hop, balboa, theres lots of learning opportunities in London!
Fabulous homewares. That is what I usually bring back from a trip overseas. You have the memories for so much longer. Chocolat Chaud is Hot Chocolate. Possibly the thicker stuff for dipping into?
The plate you bought with the recipe on, i have four cups and saucers for coffee with the descriptions on! Shame I can't put a picture on here of them.
I had one of those bowls as a child from my visit to france and it smashed, its taken me forever to find the name of it as searching for 'french bowls' doesnt cut it! They are lovely for cereal bowls if you eat very small meals x
This vlog just popped up and I was delighted to see that you visited Hastings and St Leonards on Sea in East Sussex. Thank you for giving it a big thumbs up for your visit😅. I love living here, there is so much to see and do. Next time you come down here you must visit the caves.
I wouldn't put salad cream on everything but I do love it and prefer it to mayonnaise. I live in the north of Portugal and finding it is like finding hens teeth 🤨. However I did manage to find some the other day so bought 2 bottles. Should keep me going for a while😀.
Dear Luke, Thank you for a very interesting video. Nice to see Mr Carrington with you, noticed he had one of his shirts on he recently bought. Take care. Love from Franx

When you move to your next place the kitchen is going to be amazing with all the things you have collected. Hastings looks lovely, but that pebble beach, don't tell the world about Bamburgh beach ! up home.
Loved this vlog !! Went to Hastings and had a very wet day walking around the castle ,carried on regardless true British spirit. If you ever get to go to Rye you will love it ,fabulous antique shops , very quirky independent shops lovely beaches nearby .
Ah Hastings is my hometown! Many happy memories growing up there. My parents still live there and we are going to visit soon- will definitely head down to the old town to visit those antique shops. Glad you both had a great day!
Hi Luke so pleased you went to my home town of Hastings, so pleased you liked it, as sometimes Hastings gets some bad reviews. At least the weather was kind for you both. Love your vlogs.👍

Thank you for a lovely vlog, it really cheered me up on a day when some cheering up was needed. Gorgeous homeware and as a bonus you'll be reminded of your trip to France when you use them. Love the small ceramic bowls I've picked up on travels, perfect for a few olives or a "disciplined" amount of crisps with a glass of wine :)
"Chocolat chaud" is hot chocolate. When you encounter words like "blanc", the "c" on the end is silent. Similarly, the "d" on the end of "chaud" is silent. Belated happy birthday 🎉
On Google Hastings is described as having budget hotels and being run down but what does Google know. You 2 were just missing handkerchiefs knotted at the corners on your heads when sitting on the deck chairs😎Nice video
You brought some gorgeous pieces back from France, I love them! I can't wait to see the tea towel framed. What an awesome idea! I'm sure you were delighted to be reunited with Maggie 😊 My shih tzu is almost 13 yrs old & I can't imagine him not being here. Hastings looked very interesting & a place I'd like to visit. Great French finds! I relate to your laptop fiasco, I unknowingly closed mine with a pen in it and totally ruined it. I was devastated. For future projects have you ever given thought to making your own cookbook? I think the last porcelain dish would be great for cotton (buds? - UK).
Luke I always enjoy the great content you put on your Channel 👍👍 . Even thou they are only half an hour ones they truly do feel SO MUCH longer . I think this is because , somehow you manage to film so much content in the time you are given . Every other Vlogger who does half an hour vlogs seem to just waste their time and Vlog irrelevant content . You truly do put a lot of info and effort in to them . Well Dine on all your hard work. Please do not decide in the future that you are going to not do You Tube anymore, as me for one will truly miss you on this platform and I should think all the other people whom follow you also. Great video. I get to go places without taking any steps via UA-cam. It's amazing I'm not too well so I can't actually go plus I don't have the funds, I'm currently looking for work, to work remotely. I'm an Avon rep but it's not working as I'd like it to. Xx
Lovely vlog, Luke. I admire your restraint in only buying a couple of chocolate bars. 🤣My sugar addicted self was yelling, stock up, you never know when a chocolate famine will hit!
What a coincidence with the old ointment jug from Hastings, wanted to recommend the latest book I just read. It’s called The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner. It’s about a female apothecary in 1791 London, she makes poisons for women if they need to get rid of a abusive or troublesome husband. In present day an American woman is on holiday to London and find an old medicine bottle on the bank of the Thames. Now she tries to find out where it came from as well as trying to figure out if she should leave her unfaithful husband. So exciting and so interesting with the historic description of London. I think you and Zara would like it based on your other readings. 🤓
What beautiful souvenirs from your trip. Chocolat chaud. means HOT Chocolate .😊
Have a fantastic week.
