To put it into more perspective, initially it was meant to be HHH vs Goldberg as the main event, HBK vs Orton in a singles match, and Nash vs Jericho in a hair vs hair match. Hunter's injury caused those plans to force the elimination chamber match instead. HBK vs Orton was held off until Unforgiven, and Nash vs Jericho took place on RAW before Summerslam instead.
God I hated triple h so much back in 2003_2004 he literally buried so many superstars i mean every match was so predictable back in those days you knew triple h will win it anyway you dont have to watch the match
Sad thing about Angle is that attitude towards working through anything is probably what pushed him deep into substance abuse. He's just too good for his body.
The video package for that ass kicking the following night on Raw that they would play for the next few weeks was glorious. Probably one of the best they ever produced.
The ending of the chamber match was awesome. And the original camera angels were brilliant. Trip blasting Bill with the sledgehammer Out Of Nowwhere was genius. WWE shouldn't have edited it.
11. Goldberg didn't win the Title because he was asked to work the Australian house show tour and he said no, which angered Vince McMahon... According to a video I saw on Wrestling With Wregret
I liked WWE in 2003, probably just because it was around about when I started watching and I was just a kid and therefore there's a feeling of nostalgia. Wouldn't have thought that year was as bad as it's mentioned here
Does What Culture have a vid about Fascinating Wrestling Shoots? I scrolled through your vids but you guys have a ton of vids. So I figured I'd just ask. =D
Yeah! Des Moines! It's also where Kane was briefly hospitalized following an infection. Oh, and where Ozzie was hospitalized after biting a head off of a bat.
Ian Kurtz Apart from he didn't actually bite the bat, it bit him. I believe the true story is fans used to throw plastic bats on stage, this time someone threw a real one. It froze under the lights and lay still. He picked it up and put its head in his mouth, as he thought it was fake. The bat then bit him on inside of his mouth. The blood everyone thought was from the bat was from him and so the story started.
I was there for that Des Moines house show that Christian won the IC title. I was 11, and my mind was blown that the title changed hands. Especially cause most of the heels won that night, it was kind of a bummer of a show for me
I can't totally hate on this show. Even if the finish is stupid the Elimination Chamber is just such a cool stip. Also Kane vs. RVD was an awesome feud
I think the most interesting thing about this is that there was an actual reason for HHH beating Goldberg in the chamber _other_ than "I don't wanna lose", and it's a reason that at least on paper makes sense: HHH was too injured to work a 1v1 match against Goldberg so they had to have the multi-man match, but having Goldberg win the title in the match would be unsatifying. It was still a fucking retarded decision and utterly awful booking, but there at least WAS a reason.
libertines Fink The beardless face, the pudgy body, the frequent bandage on forehead to cover his constant blading, the shades in doors...ah yes, early 00's Triple H was the BEST. Whoops, I almost forgot about starting every Raw with a 20 minute promo about being "that damn good." lol.
I was at that show live and thought the chamber match was too short and disappointing. Also Matt hardy versus Zach Gowen didn't happen either. Had a good time at the show though enough good to decent matches that I cant complain
wwe better use the original cover with sable holding the S on the wwe network, better not of removed or censored it for a more pg look. id check myself but i dont have the network
Can't wait until 2004 where no one won the Royal Rumble, Triple H and HBK fought each other to a no contest at WM20 only for this bizarre storyline to end at Summerslam 04 where Randy Orton found the WHC under the ring which pissed Triple H off so he kicked Orton out of evolution and beat him for the championship......
Mostly because of the fans: They booed Eugene and hometown baby face Edge, cheered heel Kurt Angle and heel Randy Orton over baby face Canadian Benoit, took over the Undertaker/JBL match by doing the wave and one fan almost blew the choke slam through the roof spot by jumping on top of JBLs limo. It didn't feel like the wrestlers knew how to respond to it and the matches kinda fell flat.
Which made no sense just have HHH job to Goldberg in a quick match but of course HHH polictics wasnt having that
God I hated triple h so much back in 2003_2004 he literally buried so many superstars i mean every match was so predictable back in those days you knew triple h will win it anyway you dont have to watch the match
milan #R80 you mean like with Cena in 2010 or Sheamus in 2012?
Jonas maybe cena but not sheamus triple h was pretty good at burying talent
milan #R80 HHH was winning and defeating everyone but Triple H was that dam good at that time
JohnACorp782 I totally disagree
As a Kane mark, I thought my boy was gonna get a world title run around this time, fucking Trips put a stop to that.
Back when Brock Lesnar actually cared...
Seriously. He used to actually care about adding to the story and art of the business.
watch him vs zach gowen 3 days before that SS, he cared about zach
"Kurt Angle worked hurt" Isn't and interesting fact, because it seems like he always is hurt
That impression of Simon had me dead😂😂
Dominic Astudillo why? Here's why.
I actually liked 2003 Triple H. I hated him and wanted desperately for anyone else to hold that belt. So a perfect heel, right?
if you go by that logic then sure why not
No that is not. You are supposed to hate the character not the person.
Monty Robertson Well, he did say "Triple H" so.
Looking back you are absolutely correct
@@montyrobertson7362 well you dummy hhh the person is no different than the character he's a asshole in real life
Sad thing about Angle is that attitude towards working through anything is probably what pushed him deep into substance abuse. He's just too good for his body.
I love this summer slam this was when I was most into wrestling... I was such a huge Evolution fan, I though they where so cool.
It’s time I watched a video from 6 years ago on fake sports from 20 years ago, let’s do this.
Kevin Nash hamstring jokes will never get old
Quad.
HHH buried Goldberg...
Braun 3:16 says I AM NOT FINISHED WITH YOU!!! Shut up for I'll bury you
Braun 3:16 says I AM NOT FINISHED WITH YOU!!! HHH did bury Goldberg on this night when it was not needed
The man With three Hs you been stolen my gimmick I'm the real hhh don't make me get my shovel
In general im happy that he buried goldberg and steiner
So did Brock at Mania 33
That low budget drumroll got me thinking some way
Arsal ok Why? Here's why.
Yeah, so instead of becoming the new Rey Mysterio, Dragon ended up being Sin Cara before Sin Cara was Sin Cara
Angle can work through extreme pain.....
Painkiller addiction, crippling painkiller and alcohol dependency. That's what got him through it.
We need more low-budget drumrolls in life, or more specifically, these WhatCulture videos. I found it way more hilarious than it ever should be.
Triple H went full bury mode here
Brandon Howes he's never supposed to go FULL bury
"Why?
*low budget drumroll*
Here's why?"
LMAO
1 year later I became the youngest world champ in history
#evolution
Randy Orton spoiler alert
But you still suck
LordDeek no I don't
The video package for that ass kicking the following night on Raw that they would play for the next few weeks was glorious. Probably one of the best they ever produced.
And you beat Chris Benoit.
The ending of the chamber match was awesome. And the original camera angels were brilliant. Trip blasting Bill with the sledgehammer Out Of Nowwhere was genius. WWE shouldn't have edited it.
Just watched this. Really enjoyed it.
vids where Plumpy does a Simon impression gets an automatic thumbs up.
HBK was on that show... that's enought STAR POWER for me!
11. Goldberg didn't win the Title because he was asked to work the Australian house show tour and he said no, which angered Vince McMahon... According to a video I saw on Wrestling With Wregret
2003 is actually one of my favorite years of wwe
AustroStudios Wrestlemania was FANTASTIC, frequently considered the second best Mania.
I remember when I first started getting into wrestling I thought Ultimo Dragon was really cool.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOldberg
DEATH by FATE OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOldberg
Kari Suomalainen SMAAAAAAAAAARKBERG
"kurt angle can push through most pain"
thankgod for drugs
Nice vid Adam
2003 was the year I started watching so it's one of my favourites
I think 2003 was one of the best years
I liked WWE in 2003, probably just because it was around about when I started watching and I was just a kid and therefore there's a feeling of nostalgia. Wouldn't have thought that year was as bad as it's mentioned here
Push wonder oli 👍
jimmin marvinluter wrong channel mate 😂😂😂😂😂
I know, this was intentional 🤔
jimmin marvinluter YES!!! 😂
YES!!!
Fun fact. After the Goldberg screwjob, it was the last WWE show I watched until I bought the Network in late 2014.
The brand divide was when I stopped watching
I really hate that Rey Mysterio vs Ultimo Dragon didn't go down on that show. Could've been great. WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO CARES? :(
bribrihate the wcw cruiser weight roster was a treasure. They still had the ability to make a great show then, plus the ecw guys like Tajiri and RVD.
SummerSlam 2002-2007 are my favs. I grew up with the Ruthless Aggression Era
Goldberg should of really won on this night. It would of been a perfect night
Eddie Guerrero vs Chris Benoit vs Rhyno vs Tajiri was underrated. Wish their match had gone on longer.
Actually Goldberg said no to a tour and so the chamber match was a punishment
Does What Culture have a vid about Fascinating Wrestling Shoots? I scrolled through your vids but you guys have a ton of vids. So I figured I'd just ask. =D
2003-2007 were a really low point for Summerslam shows. IMO they got back on track in 2008 with making it feel like a major show.
2003 and 2006 where one of the best summerslams, only 2004 was a real low point
Inevitable Facts about every Royal Rumble and Survivor Series.
Good ol' 2003, back when it was actually worthwhile to tune in on a Brock Lesnar match.
The tights Shawn Michaels wore at 03 and KOTR 97 were always my favorite
Yeah!
Wasn't 2003 the summerslam with the commercials of Lesnar giving sharks and killer whales F5? If so then that's my favorite part
T Dub Yep, he was still relatively unknown by casual fans before Summerslam 2002 and was gone before the 2004 version of the event.
I personally loved 2003
JohnACorp782 how's that a problem dummy
Ilin Payne To me 2003 was pretty damn good
Hardcore Ninja Gamer same here and JohnACorp is too much of a bitch to reply 😂
Nono no Light lol 😂
JohnACorp782 well that's ur opinion, so don't get offended that I disagree with you
This was the first ppv i stayed up to watch as a kid!
I was there for that Des Moines house show that Christian won the IC title. I was 11, and my mind was blown that the title changed hands. Especially cause most of the heels won that night, it was kind of a bummer of a show for me
Christian was my favorite underrated wrestler at this time.
Ah... back when Lesnar was still motivated enough to have good and long matches.
Anyone notice the #1 fact in all these videos is always something about the buyrate?
I can't totally hate on this show. Even if the finish is stupid the Elimination Chamber is just such a cool stip. Also Kane vs. RVD was an awesome feud
It's that time where some of the WWE PPV logos are getting old, like SummerSlam
"and my dad Eric bischoff" hahahaha lost it
Still one of the most head scratching moves in recent WWE history that Goldberg took the L to HHH.
It's cool to know Goldberg came and one of the reasons was to meet Austin. Damn what a match and build they would of had.
Do these for all the Big 4.
You were wrong he appeared in the 2006 royal rumble Kevin Nash just 2 years after his 2004 departure
The same royal rumble Rey Mesterio won
Maurice Fuller it's brutally horrifying how wrong you are
Why did they put cena face on Benoit's. That's just cold af. I could clearly see Benoit pants.
But it had one of the best posters ever with Sable on it
that Iron Man match was indeed the stuff of legends
Nice Simon impression!
Hahaha I love when they mock Simon
You forgot to add Edge cashing in his MITB on an already bloodied Cena to win "CLEAN."
that was 2006 New Year's Revolution, this is 2003
Yeah I know, i'm just trying to mock their stupid article.
Triple H was limited in the Chamber match because of HIS GROIN!
HIS GRRROOOOIIINNN!!!
HHH is the worst. seeing this video reminds why I hated raw during that era
libertines Fink The beardless face, the pudgy body, the frequent bandage on forehead to cover his constant blading, the shades in doors...ah yes, early 00's Triple H was the BEST. Whoops, I almost forgot about starting every Raw with a 20 minute promo about being "that damn good." lol.
So nice of Adam to shout out simon since we all give Simon a hard time for not being as good as Adam 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I was at that show live and thought the chamber match was too short and disappointing. Also Matt hardy versus Zach Gowen didn't happen either. Had a good time at the show though enough good to decent matches that I cant complain
HBK HBK HBK
my first ever summerslam, boy was the elimination chamber match awesome
Perfect timing. Watching the PPV now.
YAY THEY MENTIONED IOWA!! I'm from Iowa!!😂😂
wwe better use the original cover with sable holding the S on the wwe network, better not of removed or censored it for a more pg look. id check myself but i dont have the network
Goldberg, Mouldberg, Coldberg, Scoldberg, Rolledberg, Oldberg
Is the #1 fact for tomorrow's video Chris Benoit wrestled the main event?
Can't wait until 2004 where no one won the Royal Rumble, Triple H and HBK fought each other to a no contest at WM20 only for this bizarre storyline to end at Summerslam 04 where Randy Orton found the WHC under the ring which pissed Triple H off so he kicked Orton out of evolution and beat him for the championship......
Lesnar - A giant Box full of serial killers.... that is one of your best!
It was also the first wwe ppv held in Phoenix, AZ
SIMON DISS TRACK CONFIRMED
Brock vs Kurt's Ironman match wasn't even the best match of 2003... Angle vs Benoit
Good thing HBK didn't break out those UPS pants for this Chamber.
The moment Stephanie took over creative Triple H was the top guy from then on out.
Scott Steiner hurricaranna > Triple H's SS03 shorts.
This was the PPV where Triple H buried bicycle shorts.
2003 was meh for WWE but at least Smackdown Here Comes the Pain did amazing!
Wait if hogan was released in June, then when did he fight Shawn Michaels at summer slam?
That reference to Simon though 😂😂
I was at this Summerslam :D
Plumpy looks silly pointing at nothing at the end of the video. YOU FORGOT YOUR ENDSCREEN!! :D
The bicycle shorts were because trips was trying to cover up for lost muscle mass, since he could work out with that injury.
Kevin Nash always sucked in the ring.
Name one PPV list where Kurt Angle isn’t hurt
Can't wait to hear about 2004: the most awkward summerslam ever!
tinotica why was it so awkward?
Mostly because of the fans:
They booed Eugene and hometown baby face Edge, cheered heel Kurt Angle and heel Randy Orton over baby face Canadian Benoit, took over the Undertaker/JBL match by doing the wave and one fan almost blew the choke slam through the roof spot by jumping on top of JBLs limo. It didn't feel like the wrestlers knew how to respond to it and the matches kinda fell flat.
Also the commentators seemed confused by the crowd. The entire show didn't gel at all.
tinotica oh.
If Trips was hurt then they shouldn't have done the match his. It made no sense to "save" his win and kill his momentum in the process.
fleshing out a heel turn with tapping out to an ankle lock... heel turn ankle lock
"Low budget drumming"? That's 'hamboning', son! Hambone can save your life.
Shawn Michaels should have one more match
Paige I wish but he said he wouldn't he liked the way he retired but I do wish he did with nakamura dolph ziggler ect
True!
Paige that will be a disrespect to undertaker.
HBK doesn't want it, he is finished
I swear I've never seen Rey Mysterio beat Ultimo Dragon.
Top ten Chris Benoit facts
