You are a wonderful teacher Jenny! I can’t wait to cast on! I have made many of Diane Soucy’s patterns (not the socks! 🙂) and they are so well written and easy to follow. I highly recommend them! Manos is also one of my favorite yarn companies. They make gorgeous yarn and have an incredible history of women working together to bring their families and communities out of poverty. I am so glad to see that One Big Happy is offering their yarns! ❤️❤️
That was very helpful. Love your company....big happy! I got two wonderful projects from Big Happy that I must finish but THEN I can think about learning Sox! Hope pattern will be there !
Great video! I have knitted off and on for a few decades, but you have provided information I have not run across before. I am still hoping to get better at socks. Thanks!
Hey Rebecca! You will love this yarn! It's very soft and cozy. I'd love to see pictures as you knit on these socks. If you need help along the way, we have more videos coming soon.
@@OneBigHappyYarnCo Is there another place to go for additional videos? I haven't started yet. I can knit but have never made socks or worked on DPNs. I am watching everything before I start.
@@flowerlass We just released a toe up version using magic loop. You can check out the video on the One Big Happy Yarn Co. UA-cam Channel. ua-cam.com/channels/dnLOR1pcLyFmgi8YczRKrw.html
Hi Jenny, I am just getting back into knitting after many years. In making the gague sample, you didn't show casting off. I guess we have to before washing.
Hi Molly! Thank you for the comment. Yes, bind off like normal before washing your swatch. If you need a little refresher we have a video here ua-cam.com/video/VkaWCYkiTis/v-deo.html Happy Knitting!
Hi! My kit just arrived the other day-I picked Huarache-and I've decided that I want to do the heels in a solid color. (I don't care for the difference in pooling contrasted with the body of the sock.) I'll do the toes, too, of course. This will also maybe give me enough yarn for a full calf-length pair of socks. What would be your recommendation for a compatible yarn?
It's hard to go wrong picking a color to go with Huarache~ You have the rainbow to pick from :-) I personally like Manos del Uruguay Alegria Solids Carmine to contrast yet pull some of the red. I hope this helps!
Hi Rose, thank you for this question. Yes, you have plenty of yarn to make the swatch and socks! What color of thr Algeria are you working with? I'd love to see pictures!

Thank you Laurie! I really was impressed with the Algeria. The yarn is super soft and sturdy. Plus, I love the hand signed label!

This is a great video. You should make one for toe up knitting.
Thank you for the suggestion. We will put that on our list.

So it sounds like you already need to know how to knit. Sort of thought so when I was watching you count your 8 stitches.
@@sharonbrown2468 yes, this is a knit a long. However, we do have a Stitch Support section of videos that can help get you started.
Can I use 4 double point needles instead of 3. I am always plagued by ladders and have read it might help to add a 4th needle.
Absolutely! Do what works best for you. It's always a good idea to try different things. See if you like it. ❤ Jenny
