I love your company and teaching. You have chosen to do techniques I’ve always wanted to do. What I lack is TIME. Yes, that is my problem.....so thankful you have these classes on u tube for when time permits.
I have watched several entrelac videos and yours, by far, was tops! I liked several tips you suggested that no one else gave. The markers, the double needle cast on, the clicker, etc. you were very clear in your instructions and fun to watch. Thank you so much!!!!! Virginia Gray
I'm so sorry! We no longer have pre-made kits but you can pick up all the supplies here: You can get supplies for this project here: www.missouriquiltco.com/search?view=shop&q=entrelac+scarf&options%5Bprefix%5D=last
when is the next section of the tutorial coming? I struggle less when i have a video to see and words to hear than trying to work from an instruction sheet. I know there are other tutorials on this stitch out there but i like the pace and the way yours is recorded.
@@toscatattertail9813 I understand that. These are set up as a knit along series. But after all have releases the videos will remain on our UA-cam Channel so you can watch them at your convenience 😀
@@OneBigHappyYarnCo hate to sound dumb but when you say “next Thursday “ do you meant the next coming Thursday in a couple days (9/9) or Thursday next week (9/16)?
I just ordered my kit. I am super excited to do Entrelac again, it has been a long time. Glad you reminded me of knitting backwards. Can’t wait to knit my scarf with you. 😁
I just ordered my kit and was just curious as to why stitches are slipped knit wise and not purl wise. I have never done entrelac before and I am looking forward to this project. Thank you for the video- your directions are every clear and concise.
You can slip them either way in this pattern. Slipping them knit wise is my personal preference. I like the look. Thank you for your order and for asking that question. ❤ Jenny
The tutorials are free but you'd need to buy the pattern. You can purchase a printed copy or a PDF download here: onebighappy.com/search?q=entrelac+pattern
Nice video. and yeah backwards knitting with entrelac makes it much faster. Also i knitt contiantal and i don't wrp the yarn just pull it, so on the RS the stiches have to be knitted in the back leg, if not the stiches are turned. But this technique makes it ifen bit faster. Putting the nedel in yarn between needel and work pull trough. For continatal its very easy.
I'm so glad you showed how to backwards knit, this was a game changer for me years ago with short rows and entrelac. Most don't share that tip but you did, Yay! It makes this so much easier for me than all the turning. Another tip when unsure which way you're knitting would be to see how the last rectangles are leaning, left or right. Believe it or not in the beginning I lost my place and came out with a weird shape lol but now it's way easier to see which direction I'm working. Do you have any other tips for not going in the wrong direction?
I have to laugh, I get turned around trying to drive around my block! Best way when knitting is always checking your work. I find that I'm always double checking myself after each section. Also, making small checks on the pattern after each tier is complete. But in all honesty I have had to rip back and start a rectangle over again a few times. Thanks for pointing out the backwards knit, that was an important step for me because that's how I do it. I wanted to show it but not make it a mandatory thing. ❤ Jenny
That is a good question. I'm an English style knitter. I've never tried it Continental. I would think the process would be very similar, but you may have tension the yarn in your opposite hand 🤔
It's not as hard as it looks. Plus we have a Facebook Group where we support each other and share progress photos. You're welcome to join in at facebook.com/groups/obhmakers
I have my kit, I've watched the video a couple of times and read through the instructions a couple of times. My question: sl=slip one purl wise, correct? When I'm watching, you appear to be slipping knit wise? I'm in bed now but maybe I need to read abbreviations again in the morning.
Good question, the pattern does say to slip purl wise and I do slip knit wise. Either way works as long as you are consistent. With Entrelac knitting the technical way is to slip purl wise. I prefer to slip knit wise, it doesn't make a difference in the final outcome as long as you are consistent. ❤ Jenny
Question: I have the yarn and pattern. The pattern says S1 x slip as if to purl, yarn in front. I notice that when you slip, you slip knitwise. Which is correct?

First tier complete and second started. Not very happy with the yarn .. too many thick spots and not as soft as I had hoped. Possibly will be better after wash and block?
@@OneBigHappyYarnCo I noticed that the yarn breaks REALLY easily. It's already happened to me twice, and I'm not a tight, forceful knitter! It's soft enough, but Pat is right. It has thick spots, and the tearing and breaking is so frustrating. I'm so afraid it's going to happen again somewhere in the pattern. Also, I did the same cast on that you did (very enjoyable!), but I notice the loops on the first stitches are extra big as a result. Is there a way to fix that when weaving in the ends?
@@eb2194 thank you for your comment. I didn't have the issues of breakage but I read the post. I'm not sure why that is happening. Can you give me a little more information? @@OneBigHappyYarnCo Oh that’s awesome! I will join that group today. Regarding the breakage, I’ve never had that problem with any other yarn. It happened once while I was casting on, And another time while I was doing the beginning for triangles. The first time I was just trying to make sure there wasn’t too much loosey-goosey in the cast on stitches. I might’ve gotten a little mixed up the second time trying to do all that turning and stuff, but neither time was me pulling hard enough to break it. I switched to the two needle cast done to make sure it wasn’t being pulled too tightly. The beginning stitches in the first triangle are all loose and droopy, but I could see that being fixed in blocking. I will post pictures on the Facebook group. Thanks!
