Had my 05 Rev Up since 2010. I don't have issues with oil and she looks way better than ANY 370z hands down! And one thing people seem to forget is that the '05 Anniversary edition, has 306hp as stock! This car will still be turning heads in years to come.
I love the water pouring out of the exhaust in the "trumpet" clip. There's much better sound examples out there. Lol. I didn't make the connection for years until I actually heard a loud 350. Then the lightbulbs turned on. I was like "oh wow, they really do sound like trumpets" I love how I'm getting the power numbers of an 07-09 V6 VQ from an I4 BP, riding around in a 2300lb chassis with 50/50 weight distribution. The car is responsive in the rear and up front. For a 350z to match my PWR, it would need to achieve 472hp. You could almost make that with a good supercharger under the hood. Then you would have torque for days. Also, bye bye turbolag. The struggle is real, but nothing beats hitting that power band and feeling the wheels start to slip in 3rd. And the BOV!!! Nothing replaces that *hiss* noise. For me, miata will always be the answer. However, I'm only 5'11" Not everyone is shorter than 6'. For all the burly men out there who are too big to fit inside a glorified gokart, the VQ platform is the caviar of a sublime JDM experience, no question. I have a tendency to toss the G35 alongside the 350z. For me, they're like choosing between chocolate or vanilla icecream. It's still ice cream. A phenominal second pick in my book. Since Ford didn't build a decent track-worthy mustang until 2015, and the 05 mustang GT has the same HP, why buy anything else? Bang for buck, I agree, the VQ platform is awesome. Its like the Miata's big brother that likes to walk sideways. Now about that tuning potential and stability...let's hear about how much power these can make. I want to know what my competition looks like. Cheers guys, another job well done.
I have an 03 Daytona Blue and if you do maintenance. I consider it a piece of history to have one of the first ever made. Plus everything I’ve done to it
I love the fairladies, and I know it's faster, but I had a chance I'd go for it's 4 door cousin, the Infiniti G35. I'm a sucker for a super saloon. Plus they made them in AWD as well.
Good luck finding a 350 or 370z that hasn't been modded and beat to shit by a teenager/early 20s guy. If you somehow find one, hold on to that baby cuz it's gonna be worth $$ down the line. PS I advocate that cars should be driven so Im not saying you shouldn't wild out with car or mod it if you want
Its easy af to find them lmao theyre a dime a dozen. Maybe in 5-10 years that’ll be the case. Of course if your budget is under 10k then it’ll be more difficult.
Right. I was lucky to get gifted one a few weeks ago. Before then, I was looking for one for ages that has relatively low miles with little to no issues. As your comment pointed out, most of the ones I’ve came across either had electrical issues, blown engine and/or transmission. Or was burning oil to high hell. The 370Zs aren’t too bad since they’re newer of course.
"Priced like the dollar menu" yes if you bought the dollar menu 10,000+ times.... average market value in Australia for an 07 or newer, HR 350z is about $20,000-$25,000... for a 15+ year old car, I'd say it's already too late to get a "good deal" if you don't already own one (like me, when I paid just $11k 4 years ago for mine). I guess for you, $10-$20k is nothing, but to the average person that's a lot of money still. Granted, these cars were $75,000 on release here back in the early 2000's so it wasn't cheap then either.
For the small price increase I think it is "ideal" to upgrade to the 370Z for the refinement of the issues of the 350Z, the more aggressive look, and nearly 50 more horses. The upgrade is only about $3-4K which is about what you would pay for a turbo to get to the same horsepower on a 350Z.
You have absolutely no idea what your talking about, a properly setup and tuned turbo 350z will have at least 75HP more and more importantly close to double the TQ of a 370z.
@@timtresch4848 Right use the price difference to boost it. All the other parts r cheaper too n the 350z looks better. HKS supercharged 350z can push 450ish n maybe 500 on the rev up for what 10k AUD inc injectors n an ecu. That's plenty of fun in a medium kinda light car. 1450kgs with 500 crank hp is godly. (USA dynos read 10-15% higher so in the states would be over 500)
Out of sorts question. I own a 04 convertable 350z which I had a JDM replacement engine installed. Runs great now but I recently bought a 03 G35 sedan and found that it has a timming belt, bigger pullys with larger cams. Does anyone have any experience with this set up?
I always vouch for the C5 Corvette. But in your case, I’d say go with your heart (but yeah, you’ll prolly find 350z for less than that and mod it after)
No, cheaper probably but not better, the vett is lighter and makes more power, the LS engine is cheaper to maintain and mod. You get more for your money with the vett, but 350 and 370z are great cars.
Thank you! And its FWD!? This is not the minitruck revolution we asked for. That thing is an abomination. I would rather buy that glorified minivan, the ridgeline. And the Mustang and Eclipse are SUVs!? Why!?? We live in the upside down I swear. I have fond memories of the Maverick. I would say RIP, but that undead corpse called the Maverick is loose. We need to put it down I say. That thing should not exist.
You can still find unmolested ones for under $10k. They will have over 100kmi though. For under 100kmi, you're looking at $11-$18k, depending. Given the current market, its still reasonable. Better than some of the $40k S2Ks I was looking at. Most of those run for $20k or more. It's strange to see a car thats less than 50yrs old appreciate more than $10k above MSRP. To your point, it does look like they're quickly falling into the 240SX death spiral. Soon we'll see roller 350Zs with stripped interiors listed for $8k on FBM. Its only a matter of time.
In fairness, the thumbnail does say "Nissan Z". But do you really think 200cc and a body kit completely changes a car? Its still the same VQ platform. Ok, so there are some improvements to the engine, but its not like there's a radical difference. The 300ZX TT and 300ZX 2+2 have more differences, but those cars look almost identical from a bodyline standpoint. I think you're just knitpicking.
@@christopherlowery855 Doesnt matter what the title says. The video is about the 350z. And clearly you haven’t driven either car cuz they drive completely different 💀🤡 Bet you wouldn’t react the same if someone called an R34 an R32 while they’re also the same platform.
At the risk of sounding like Alexa, no, neither the 350Z, or the 370Z had turbo factory options. I think they learned their lesson with the 300ZX TT. Too much exhaust restriction, too tiny of an engine bay. They managed to produce the same power with an NA motor several years later... And we thank them for it.
