World Numismatics gah I love your videos! I look up to you so much cause you teach not only me but so many others about Coins and what to look for. Thanks so much for what you do. You always get my like. I'm binge watching your videos and I can't stop. I have so many screen shots of certain things you show so I can compare when searching. I just found a double die obverse 3 days ago when searching my 1985 mint set and sent it off to James Wiles for attribution. I know it's a double die and there's no doubt about that and I can't wait to get it back. After I get it attributed I'm gonna send it off again for grading to NGC if they will slab it since it's new and none have been discovered yet. I don't see why they wouldn't if James attributes it, which I know he's gonna cause I know it's a true double die! Anyways thanks again friend, keep the great videos coming! Can't wait for the next one!

All were struck on a silver planchet. It seems that most of your 1972 pennies ( at least the majority I’ve seen) have been poorly manufactured this year.

The 1972 proof DDO,witch you can see doubling on the mint mark? Wouldn't that make it a RPM,as, the mark cannot be a doubled die as they were marked after by hand 1989 they started putting the mint mark with the die so how the heck is that a double die on the s, it should be a repunched mint mark,which would make that a double variety or a dual variety
Yes you are right. The coin itself is definitely a DDO, but there is something going on with the mint mark as well. Of course the S cant be a doubled die, precisely for the reasons you stated, which is why I put the word doubling in quotation marks on screen. The thing is though that it doesn't quite conform to a RPM either, so I suspect that the die chipped or something similar when the s was placed. I've seen it on multiple samples which is why I mentioned it, but it's one of those things that requires more time and effort to study to get a better answer. Perhaps I could have phrased it a bit better when describing it though.

I can't find a single dye mark on my 72 penny,and it's doubled big time,so it may be a fake you know a counterfeit
Oh I hope that's not the case, the die gouge above the D should be there regardless of die state, but a few other markers to look for also include : A subtle die bump under base of bust West of V.D.B. - Mostly EDS.
Small Die scratch between lower 1st and 2nd folds on the vest(this ones a bit difficult to spot at the best of times).
A slight die scratch between lower I and T of UNITED - again this one is EDS or MDS.
And then the Die gouge above D of UNITED. Oh this is all for the FS101 of course.
