I've been up in one of these a few times, absolutely the best experience of my life
WOW 😀AMAZING 👍✌😁
On the MK4 the winch man actually operates himself from the door joystick ..
Just thought I'd mention that..
Interesting. Thanks, I didn't know that.👍🙃
I wonder if my brother, George (Melvyn) Leggott worked on the Merlin? Sadly, he died 2015 and I do wish that I had chewed the fat with him about his Navy days (70's and 80's) a bit more - he did tell me about the Seakings and Wessex's he worked on....
Sorry for your loss, but Merlin only entered service in the early 2000's so probably not unless he was working for Westland in the 1990s while it was being tested.
@@Akm72 1999 I did my conversion, then joined 824.
Very True;!
Why do they name these 'Merlin' ? A Merlin is a hyper-small falcon. These helicopters are very good and maneuverable and all, but one may as well call a Chinook a 'Humming Bird' if one is going to call these helicopters 'Merlin' .. And there's nothing magick about them, it's just Science, beautiful Science ..
Merlin was an important member of the round table regardless of his sorcery
Were you having a boring day when you had that rant haha. There's worse things in the world I'm sure...
