Ønsker du kun at se: Take Off. Så spol ca. 7 min. og 45 sek. frem. Men husk at skrue MAX op, for de tre turboskaftmotorer lyder nemlig temlig godt!

Nice machine. Looks like the rotor head engineers really worked hard at minimizing parasite drag. Well done. Those blades and tips are awesome design. Thanks for posting. I do have one regret was that the constant zooming to close, and out, diminished somewhat the quality. Other than that, great video.

What an incredible achievement for man to have created such an innovative piece of technology. You can't but to stand in "aw" at this machine as it powers up and takes off into flight. Imagine the faces on people just 100 years ago if they would have seen something like this. To go from the Wright Bros. to this in such a short period of history is a crowning achievement of what man can actually do. And to think how far advanced the Space Shuttle was as well. Absolutely incredible.

Yeah, I fell in love with the helo at first sight. I remember seeing it in a book, reading about its capabilities especially in SAR and then only a few days later I spotted my first (back then EH101) flying over the Danish Limfjord. Beautiful machine. The NH90 reminds me quite a bit of it's outward appearance.

We don't see how long it took for the ambulance crew & helicopter crew to load the patient into the helicopter.
Loading of the patient + 7 minutes...?
Since it took 7 minutes after the ambulance drove away for the helicopter to take off, I wonder how long it would've taken to just drive to the hospital.

Canada bought the EH101 version for it's Search and Rescue Squadrons. They ended up buying the ones the American had purchased that were supposed to be the Presidential Flight for spare parte. The stupidly bought the Sikorsky Cyclone as a replacement for the Sea Kings, 5 years ago and they only taken delivery of 1 helicopter in 5 years. Pitiful.

You should know that the 25 seats are crashworthy, not just garden chairs. The oft quoted 32 seats of the Hip are for the civilian passenger transport version. Military Hips cannot seat as many - just 24: Merlin's cabin is a full 30% bigger. And, of course, there are doors on both sides, one of them a large cargo door, unlike the Mil. Plus the Merlin can be fitted with an extra row of seats along the centreline if necessary.
