Good review. In Korea, at least, there were some good deals for preorders through Coupang - got 200,000 off the list price of KRW 890,000, so that comes to be about $570. Then LG also threw in an LG Puricare Mini, which retails around KRW 200,000. So I was quite happy with that (plus I was upgrading after three years of my G6, so I'm perfectly content with my "G9" 😅)
Well done review. As I said, this is an htc move from LG. One to U, G to Velvet. Only LG knows why. My G7 stays, after 2y it's better phone in simply every area. V line isn't available in my country, LG doesn't release it here.

@@gogigp in the US some carriers have given the A10 update you can also update manually to Korean which has many features not available in global release., guide is available on LG G7 forum in reddit. velvet is a disgrace even to G series, with bad camera and 8 MP ultra wide angle which is utterly useless. A thing LG pioneered. They should just make a phone with V30 body but new internals and better cameras or like G4 beautiful leather and curve.

in settings you can mess with the euqalizer, at 9:33 you can see it and just mess with it till the sound is to your liking and there is other pre-loaded options for you to try.

I don't know if I bought a faulty device. I bought the t-mobile variant. However, the battery isn't as good as I thought. It looses 5 percent of battery with sparse browsing within an hour. And that's with extended battery saver on, and brightness set to 12%. Is this normal battery drainage for the phone? Did anyone notice this when theirs was new?

The UI really looks like ONE UI. Why LG? I loved their phone in 2017 and below because looks so special than others. I see this and I don't see any special thing anymore.
Sadly LG killed the G9 and went with the Velvet. Maybe it's worth $100-150 over a $450 phone but probably not $300. I wish they had included a Quad DAC, then I might have considered it.

I'm a fan of LG phones, but even I thought this phone should not be priced more than $599. For $749 you are better off getting a oneplus 8 or even the iPhone 11.
@@tessat1693 It's subjective. Some people appreciate the aesthetic and it does make a phone feel smaller in the hand. But, it also increases the cost of the phone, makes it more fragile and your hand accidentally touches the screen when holding it. Since phones are designed with a price in mind, i'd say the quad dac was more important to include than a curved screen.
I have the v60 my bro has the Velvet. If you adjust the EQ settings right on the Velvet the headphone sounds are really impressive. The bigger differences is actually camera and battery.

Yeah the front doesn't have a unique look, there's no gold lining on the sides. Even the back is not embedded with diamond crystals. So, that's not unique either. You are right

It does NOT comes with a secondary display in Korea. We have to pay extra money for that. Im Korean who bought that phone yesterday, so i know the truth. Its kinda expensive consider to its spec, but i decided to get one because of that gorgeous disign and colour.

I had to replace this phone twice and return both of them. this phone has big problem with wifi. you just start face time and it will get hot around the front facing camera less than 10 minutes and drop out the wifi and won't let you connect until it cools off or restart. it will use your cell data. I disable switching to cell data from wifi if wifi no good. but it will never make difference. Anyone else has the same issue? I think they used very very crappy cheap moden cheapest in this phone.
I just ordered this phone bc it has bluetooth 5.1 and has 5g. Just a few minutes after ordering I saw people complain about the sound. Damn I hope its not that bad or I will return it. My Huawei P20 pro has Dolby Atmos and it's great.

With the velvet you get wireless charging, stereo speakers, built in screen recording, ip68 water and dust resistance, 3d surround sound sofware, aptx HD support, a headphone jack only beaten by external dacs and other lg phones, gorilla glass 5 instead of 3, high sensitivity mics for better call quality and video recording, a far better screen in terms of brightness and vividness especially when watching videos, and aluminum body, active pen support, support for optional accessories like a dual screen case, up to 2TB of expandable storage, and probably more. ALL OF WHICH THE GALAXY A71 5G DOES NOT HAVE. And Samsung still expects people to pay $500 for it. If i bought that galaxy and my friend showed off their $100 more lg velvet id be fucking pissed that i just spent $500 when i couldve soent $100 more and gotten $300 worth of extra features.

Get a plastic one, may not prevent drops but deals with scratches and stays on. The phone does have gorilla Glass 5

They made the wrong move with the notch and the thicker top and bottom bezzel, but I think that's because they use a "Plastic Oled Display."
