- I had to do one more Halloween bowl. This was in my head and it had to come out. It was originally for the October video series, but I did not finish in time. Not exactly what I wanted and I talk about it at the end of the video. Thank you for checking it out.

Even though it's not what you wanted, I think it turned out awesome! You ought to make a sphereical eye sometime. I've seen some awesome eye designs out there, you'll get the hang of it so keep at it.

I agree Ken, Veins should be on the inside too.. maybe a little thinner too? Try red thread (y)
I think painting them on and covering with a clear coat or translucent white would be easier.

I love it. The veins look a little thick to me, though. Maybe you could mix some red fiber into the white resin for a slightly more organic look... Or maybe those would be too fine.
If you take red resin shavings and mix it in, you get these whispers of color. Saw it on another channel with clear resin, tho. Not sure how it’ll do with white.
I'm not sure it would look right. Maybe I could paint some thin lines on and cover with clear resin?
@@MoonpieCreations or lay the red shavings on top of the white and use clear like that hodge podge stuff to lay it down?I’d see how it turns out on like, a dixie cup sized piece before going full bowl

The multiple pours..loved that...as far as the veins..before you turn...and after the white pour...carve in the veins deeply..then do a red pour...no taping needed...

My wife has green eyes and yes I think next time green is the way to go.
Even if it didn't come out looking the way you wanted, you learned a lot about how to build another.

Natural sounds are just fine. I did have to turn off the sound, while you were putting the grooves in the blue, because it reminded me of the dentist.

Agreed, not exactly your best piece, but it is still cool as heck. Now you know more about how to reach the results you were looking for on this one the next time you make one of these. It is definitely unique and probably count find another one out there just like it if you tried. Thanks for posting both your success and your failures. Just a few ideas: rather than carving the blood vessels, if you're going for realism you could use a small brush and paint them on the sclera using resin. Afterwards, you could do a to translucent, white coat on top of that, so that they look like they're actually part of the white; then you could build up more layers to add some vessels on the surface, which takes care of the sclera. I do not have a valid idea on how to blend the iris in, however... Either way, this was a neat experiment nonetheless.

Here's an idea: don't make the eyeball into a bowl but rather keep it a round sphere and find a cool branch to place the eyeball into the crotch of the limbs. If you are going for a Halloween vibe you can make the cornea yellow, the iris green and pupil red.
I think your ideas of improvement will create a bowl you will love.

Very cool and very different. I'd go maybe a pinkish red if you do it a again.. now make a contact lens for it hahahah. Very cool, you make it look easy.

Why not use red thread dipped in resin to get it to stick then a layer of clear to get the depth and really fine look to the veins. Different thickness on the thread would be a pain to do but it would look neat

@@MoonpieCreations I just saw another video of some metal forging where they make the Soul Edge sword from Soul calibur. They actually used red thread for the eye in the sword looked rather realistic. Kind of crazy I suggested it to you then find a video where it was done days later.

You could carve some veins on the inside and fill them with red resin? I think it looks alright the way it is.
It was super hard to get them on the outside. lol I think it would be easier to do deeper veins on the outside
Honey brown eyes are the best and show up well next to black 🙃 also…wood could be used for this color and would give it that iris effect!
I think clear coat over after for that eye look. Also maybe something red in the resin so as it’s (uh…the spiny bit 🤦🏻♀️ shut up I’m here for art lol) some of it shows through. Like red trees but upside down in the pour? Idk I’ll think on the how lol

If you made it out of wood you could do the bloodshot veins with Lichtenberg burning.
Lichtenberg burning scares me. I had a friend in Texas die doing it a few years back. But damn that would be cool. Now I want to try it.
@@MoonpieCreations You can buy everything you need to do it safely today in one package. I’ve watched a few different people do it on UA-cam, a couple of them looked jerry rigged, not the best idea. But most have ones that aren’t homemade and look designed to do nothing else. It actually pretty simple, it scares the hell out of me too. I’d want to spend some time with someone who has experience doing it, and can tell you exactly what you shouldn’t do.
Mate honestly that is sick. This is one of my faves of yours. Honestly as soon as you started I thought I'd have gone green instead of blue, but I have a thing for green eyes. And maybe Milliput for the veins. But you're the master.... I'm just an idiot with a lathe 🤣🤣
