Homemade Hydroponic Cloner

  • A simple hydroponic cloner that can be built by just about anyone. This little cloner will get the job done just like to big expensive ones but at a fraction of the price. Don't let people tell you hydroponics is "expensive" or "complicated" because it isn't.
    Use a cloner like this to turn one plant into many in half the time it would take to start one from seed.

    when drilling through plastic have the drill spinning counter clockwise. It will melt the plastic instead of cutting it, much smoother and effective.

      Correct, works very easy and very clean when you do it this way. But same comments when you want to use the styrofoam plugs....

    For the neopremes a cheap solution is just cut slices off a pool noodle with slits half way to feed the stem in, very cheap and just one makes plenty plugs😉

    Using a hole saw, you need the center drill bit to keep hole saw stay aligned. Also drill backwards it will make a smooth finish hole, and less tear out.

    That's awesome as soon as you got your thing built when you went to get your cuttings it wasn't just pot plants like all the other videos I see cuz I'm not trying to use this to grow pot I'm trying to build a farm that grows enough fresh produce that people come and pick their own and pay me for the weight and leave so they can get quality food that half the price but I just need people like this that are like yeah I don't use it for my own gains showing you how to do this to better your lives and it's much appreciated

    • @HowToHydroponics
      @HowToHydroponics  9 років тому +1

      I never had to use a heating mat with the cuttings. If you have a dome with vents you could probably just open the vents once you see some roots being established. Aim for 80% humidity until they look ready for transplant.

    Got to be honest man that looks really sloppy. Try getting a pilot bit and drilling in reverse next time. Also you would have been better off heating up the saw or just pushing it through the foam with the weight of your hand on a flat surface.

    To cut through plastic with those hole saws, drill the pilot hole normally, and then run the drill in reverse to cut the circular part, it creates cleaner cuts.

    you showed a pic of an aeroponic cloner when making the money comparison and built a dwc cloner..VERY big difference between the two. I own a lot of both of those and the aeroponic cloner would have a million times higher success rate than the dwc you made any day of the week. I wont even use my dwc cloners any more and have already givin most of them away. you can build aeroponic cloners cheap as well. Also that styrofoam will be eaten away by the nutrient water and leach chemicals in to you plants roots
