It is classified as a Fire Spell, however, and benefits from Fire-boosting effects and Talismans. Secondly, Dragon Claw can actually chain into any other incantation. It isn't just limited to being cast twice. For example, you can cast Dragon Claw, then immediately cast Dragon Maw as the Follow-Up. This method of casting can allow you to adjust to unexpected events, and can also work as a great way to keep from being stuck in the long tail animation of Dragon Claw. Dragon Claw into Placidusax's Ruin does MASSIVE Poise damage, too. The shockwave from Placidusax's Ruin is scary when combined with Dragon Claw this way.

Thank you! I think the issue with Roar Medallion is that unless I'm mistaken, despite the description, at the moment it doesn't seem to enhance the power of the Dragon Breath Incantations.
Wasn't it that if you are a pure caster you can go all in faith and only the minimum of arcane because if you have the dragon communion seal in your left hand and a S faith scaling seal in your right you get the boost of the dragon communion seal damage and you use the scaling of the right seal so you don't need to waste points in arcane. As much what I saw what other players tested.
Yep, if you want to dual wield Seals, then you can indeed just go pure Faith with Erdtree Seal upgraded, and simply equip the Dragon Communion on the other hand for the boost to Dragon Incantations. However, this will block you from another source of damage such as let's say the Jellyfish Shield.
Can also use the golden order seal if you're planning on investing in Int. Put the dragon communion in your offhand and you cant take advantage of both it and the jellyfish shield but it still adds the bonus damage to the golden order seal Generally imo it's worth having at least 25 faith for golden vow and flame grant me strength, even on an int build so worthwhile imo.
You are correct, for some strange reason, unlike all the other Dragon Breaths, Placidusax's is classified as Dragon Cult (like the Lightning Incantations) instead of Communion. I personally think it must be an oversight so perhaps it will be changed eventually through patches.
@@cRPGBro Dragon communion spells are obtained through dragon communion, aka hunting dragons and eating their hearts at respective altars. Placi Ruin is obtained via rememberance, which is some kind of enduring demigod essence stuff, and dragon cult is magic that dragons can teach followers. In other words, dragon communion is stealing dragon power, specifically modern dragons (more wyvern-like, not gravel stone scaled) dragon cult is worship of dragons, specifically ancient dragons, and invludes spells associated with ancient dragons (their lightning is produced by their gravel stone scales).
So if you go all out with this build you can still use other incantations and do great damage right? Because of the incantation scaling on this seal is one of the highest?
Hi there! I started as Prophet so you already begin with some Faith gear and Faith spells, as all Dragon Magic is classified as Incantations so also requires a Sacred Seal to properly cast.
Hey, im not sure if godfrey icon actually even works on the dragon incantations. I just tested with and without it and they still had the same dmg output, a good alternative could be using radagon icon for quicker casts. (Note, roar medallion also seems to not work with it)
I believe you are correct, even though we CAN charge the dragon spells for a longer burst. Radagon can really help indeed as they tend to be somewhat slow to cast.
Does Faithful and Flock Canvas Talismans stack? I know the Alexander shards did not. I just wanted to know if it also applied to this as well.. Thank you and great build btw.
I have a build that’s the same but it’s 35 faith and 45 arcane with 60 vig 27 mind 17 end 16 str and 18 dex so I can use rob or occult uchigata with bloodflame buff
It depends on the Sacred Seal you're using. Erdtree Seal has pure Faith scaling, while Dragon Communion Seal has Faith & Arcane scaling. Both end up at very similar end damage result, but Arcane has more versatility.

The best way would be to follow the Stat Allocation section at 09:11 I highly recommend a Faith/Arcane split if you want to maximize Dragon Incantation damage. Ideally around 45 Faith & 60 Arcane. If you want a heavier focus on Shield + Spear, I also cover gear and upgrades for it here: ua-cam.com/video/O3gQjpStCQ8/v-deo.html And here for a more melee heavy build with spells just for buffs: ua-cam.com/video/_AYAK4DUE68/v-deo.html
But what weapon would be recommended for this build? With the split between faith and arcane, I have a hard time choosing one, since bleed/occult will seemingly underperform, compared to going to 80 arcane with no faith. 🤷🏼♂️ Any recommendations?
It can be a bit tricky. Sometimes when it is worded that way, it only affects physical attacks, other times it enhances everything. Contagious Fury is a good example, it will actually increase damage from ALL sources! The only way to really know is through testing!
Roar Medallion unfortunately does not increase the power of the Dragon Breath Incantations, at least as far as the current patch. Hopefully it is changed further along the line, or they just remove the "breath" line from it, because it sure can be misleading.
@@cRPGBro Bruh fr? Yea they better fix it or remove it then since i cant think of many other "Breath's" besides Dragon-Incantarion... And thx a Lot for the Answer!! I really thought it could give a even bigger Buff xD
It does not work with the Dragon Spells that I tested, all the Breaths. I believe it is because you can only channel, but not charge them. Just like with Comet Azur, so they don't get a bonus from Godfrey Icon.
@@cRPGBro I saw a video yesterday that actually debunked that, in a frame for frame comparison. It speeds up the starting animation, allowing you to actually start dealing damage faster. Not by a huge noticeable amount, but it does speed it up.
@@SoulsBorneSoldier I believe he meant the Godfrey Icon, which increases the damage of charged spells. Radagon Icon is the one that does the boost to casting speed 😁
Honestly, it feels like most Faith scaling weapons are always split with DEX and STR instead of ARC. It's why I prefer to leave Dragon Communion Seal for casting and then get an Occult Cross Naginata as your Arcane is eventually so high you get a ton of damage added anyways.
@@cRPGBro Currently trying a sort of Bloodsworn DragonKnight build with the Bloody Helice, Reduvia, Dragon Communion seal and the Antspur Rapier with venom infusion. I'm wearing the Rot Talisman and the Blood talisman so when I poison/rot and bleed the target I get a huge attack buff.

It is! Because you have high Arcane with this Dragon Build, you can also use powerful Katanas that scale with Arcane or add the Occult/Blood Affinity to them, such as the infamous Rivers of Blood 😁
You don't necessarily need it as a Build that has many ranged options from spells and also amazing ways of highly increasing Damage Negation. You can of course go for 60 with no problems.
Yeah, it's really amazing how many easy runes you can get at the beginning by killing the Dragon Mother in front of Fort Faroth, and she doesn't even fight back 😁
Well, the good thing is both builds overlap somewhat and can do the same! As I also go the Faith/Arcane route for my Faith Guide. So long as you have the Dragon Communion Seal.
Good build, liked the video. But you don't show much power of build or skill. You'd be better to show how this build works without summons, so more people will trust you. It's just a tip, kind of recommendation for your future channel development.
@@cRPGBro one thing I would like you to keep in mind for the build update is explaining how the dragon communion seal scales... because all sources of info I can find say arcane only scales to 45 but all the dragon builds go to 60 so I'm really really confused and I haven't been able to find any info about it.
So when you use that Dragon Seal, since a lot of Faith main spells also have Arcane, and that Seal makes Arcane S tier (at full upgrade), are you better off leveling up Arcane to increase your Faith spells that share the Arcane attribute?
Yes, eventually the Dragon Communion Seal will offer quite powerful Incantation Scaling. Ideally you want Faith up to 40-45, Arcane up to 60. You can leave Faith lower if you want too.
Youre mad if you think fire (which has the highest resistances in the game) outclasses glintstone breath. Magic damage scaling is busted in Elden Ring. Not to mention that magical damage buffs will scale both glintstone and frost breath simultaneously...
Faithful's Canvas is one of the shittest talisman, boosts only %4 dmg and Godfrey Icon does not boost dragon breath speels as they re channeling not charging

You are correct, but the Church is also unfortunately pretty limited in Dragon Power selection than the Cathedral at Caelid.
@@cRPGBro picking up a breath at the church then going to the cathedral makes the trip a lot easier. However with the mother dragon cheese and the teleport near by the starting area to the magical town maybe the cathedral is better. Just personally wish I went to the church first instead of the cathedral would saved me a lot of head ache. But this was also my first from software game
goddess of rot...gets wrecked by rot
Yep, the irony is indeed very fun, right?
Awesome video one thing I would add for a talisman is swapping out Godfrey icon for the roar medallion (enhances roars and breath attacks)
Thank you!
I think the issue with Roar Medallion is that unless I'm mistaken, despite the description, at the moment it doesn't seem to enhance the power of the Dragon Breath Incantations.
sometimes if I have to trade dmg (like in a big fight), I'd use endure with black flame's protection + golden vow
These are great options as well.
Black Flame's Protection alone is a massive Phys Damage Negation increase!
How would you level this for a 125 lvl build? What would my stats look like for it at 125?
Second this
45 arcane dragon communion seal. Enough faith to use all the spells you want to use. Rest in mind and vigour
Great vid 👊🏾
Thank you!
Put the dragon communion in your offhand and you cant take advantage of both it and the jellyfish shield but it still adds the bonus damage to the golden order seal
Generally imo it's worth having at least 25 faith for golden vow and flame grant me strength, even on an int build so worthwhile imo.
Those do stack?
I mean with the incarnation
Nice video. But let me notice you about Placidusax's Ruin - its not dragon communion incantion.
Has the patch effected this build at all? If so how so?
It is even better since many Dragon Spells now cost less FP, have less recovery time or better Hyper Armor during cast!
So if you go all out with this build you can still use other incantations and do great damage right? Because of the incantation scaling on this seal is one of the highest?
Definitely!
As we have high Incantation Scaling regardless, and enough Faith for the best Incantations as well.
Dex makes magic cast faster, does effect even dragons spell?
hi i love your videos but i can't figure out what class you are using in this video
Hi there!
I started as Prophet so you already begin with some Faith gear and Faith spells, as all Dragon Magic is classified as Incantations so also requires a Sacred Seal to properly cast.
@@cRPGBro thanks men i love you
and what would your go to weapon be when running out of FP ?
Occult Cross Naginata is my favorite!
We have the Arcane to make it work just fine.
With Seppukku later on, the Bleed proc is just insane.
Kinda salty with the nerfs to the seal and status buildup. This was one of my favorite builds :(. Have you tweaked it since 1.04 dropped?
Uh I’ve been knocked out of a dragon claw animation many times 🙃
Hey, im not sure if godfrey icon actually even works on the dragon incantations. I just tested with and without it and they still had the same dmg output, a good alternative could be using radagon icon for quicker casts. (Note, roar medallion also seems to not work with it)
I believe you are correct, even though we CAN charge the dragon spells for a longer burst.
Radagon can really help indeed as they tend to be somewhat slow to cast.
What class did you use for this build?
Prophet is the best!
Does Faithful and Flock Canvas Talismans stack? I know the Alexander shards did not. I just wanted to know if it also applied to this as well.. Thank you and great build btw.
They do, just like Graven-Mass and Graven Talisman for Sorceries!
And which one is the best?
Rot Breath + Ice Breath are by far the most versatile and strongest of the bunch for bosses.
Thx
btw just use the trap chest in the lake near the start its faster then going all the around
Yep, it can be a way to quicken it.
@@cRPGBro i will say only do it if your confident that you can roll those stupid range attack
So does the talisman that boosts roar and breath attacks not work for the dragon breaths?
I'm afraid at the current patch it doesn't work for Dragon Breath Incantations for some reason.
I personally think it's an oversight.
@@cRPGBro yeah that’s very odd. I actually thought the talisman was designed for the dragon breath attacks 🤷♀️
I have a build that’s the same but it’s 35 faith and 45 arcane with 60 vig 27 mind 17 end 16 str and 18 dex so I can use rob or occult uchigata with bloodflame buff
That seems like a viable alternative indeed!
Dragon spells scale better with faith or arcane?
It depends on the Sacred Seal you're using. Erdtree Seal has pure Faith scaling, while Dragon Communion Seal has Faith & Arcane scaling.
Both end up at very similar end damage result, but Arcane has more versatility.
I also use golden vow before bosses
Golden Vow is indeed amazing!
You can also go with other Faith Buffs that I cover here depending on if you want more damage or more tankiness: ua-cam.com/video/SQNmaGvnihQ/v-deo.html
How do you have so many points allocated at level 145? I'm 160 and can't even make them that high. 50 hp, to then 50 arcane and then 45 int then 30 mind? How? Is it the armor?
It's from the Godrick's Great Rune boost, which gives +5 to ALL stats!
I talk about how to get it here: ua-cam.com/video/B0kaYYo4VRg/v-deo.html
What spells do you use for trash and non boss mob clearing I use lightning and black flame but I'm very late into the game and they seem to be falling off
I have an updated Best Faith spells here that you can follow, with best spells of any situation, including bosses and normal exploration:
ua-cam.com/video/SQNmaGvnihQ/v-deo.html
Ideally you want Flame of Frenzy for aoe/ packs, or Black Flame Ritual later on.
Frenzied Burst for sniping enemies from afar.
maybe i will never get a response but, the glinstone blade reduces the cost of the dragon powers?
Hi there!
The Primal Glintstone Blade Talisman DOES reduce the FP cost of Dragon Incantations.
@@cRPGBro ty ty, im trying to beat the game only using dragon attacks and im getting a lot of problems with the fp cost, so if this talisman didnt help me i was bout to stop the run xd
I am currently lvl 101 with a vagabond. How would you spend your traits for this build? Currently wearing a shield and spear with frost and bleed
The best way would be to follow the Stat Allocation section at 09:11
I highly recommend a Faith/Arcane split if you want to maximize Dragon Incantation damage.
Ideally around 45 Faith & 60 Arcane.
If you want a heavier focus on Shield + Spear, I also cover gear and upgrades for it here: ua-cam.com/video/O3gQjpStCQ8/v-deo.html
And here for a more melee heavy build with spells just for buffs: ua-cam.com/video/_AYAK4DUE68/v-deo.html
Did anyone else notice both canvas equiped?
You can, and they also stack!
But what weapon would be recommended for this build? With the split between faith and arcane, I have a hard time choosing one, since bleed/occult will seemingly underperform, compared to going to 80 arcane with no faith. 🤷🏼♂️
Any recommendations?
Iron great sword is what I like with occult, I used a bandits sword before I farmed the iron. Both perform well but I like the chonkier sword.
And occult def does not underperform in this as arcane is the main scale for the incantations.
Oh but I would only have 25 faith, you just need enough for golden seal, everything into arcane
"attack power" isnt that just physical melee attack? not spell or incantation damage?
It can be a bit tricky.
Sometimes when it is worded that way, it only affects physical attacks, other times it enhances everything.
Contagious Fury is a good example, it will actually increase damage from ALL sources!
The only way to really know is through testing!
So the Talisman that boosts Scream&Breaths isnt an Option?
Roar Medallion unfortunately does not increase the power of the Dragon Breath Incantations, at least as far as the current patch.
Hopefully it is changed further along the line, or they just remove the "breath" line from it, because it sure can be misleading.
@@cRPGBro Bruh fr? Yea they better fix it or remove it then since i cant think of many other "Breath's" besides Dragon-Incantarion... And thx a Lot for the Answer!! I really thought it could give a even bigger Buff xD
I am curious. You did not go over the Godfrey icon talisman. Does this effect the Dragon breath spells.
It does not work with the Dragon Spells that I tested, all the Breaths.
I believe it is because you can only channel, but not charge them.
Just like with Comet Azur, so they don't get a bonus from Godfrey Icon.
@@cRPGBro Aww. That sucks but at least it works with lighting spear.
Is there a good ARC/FTH weapon even?
Honestly, it feels like most Faith scaling weapons are always split with DEX and STR instead of ARC.
It's why I prefer to leave Dragon Communion Seal for casting and then get an Occult Cross Naginata as your Arcane is eventually so high you get a ton of damage added anyways.
@@cRPGBro Currently trying a sort of Bloodsworn DragonKnight build with the Bloody Helice, Reduvia, Dragon Communion seal and the Antspur Rapier with venom infusion. I'm wearing the Rot Talisman and the Blood talisman so when I poison/rot and bleed the target I get a huge attack buff.
are you that one guy how made the shyth bild in dark souls 3 5 year ago
Nope!
I played all the Souls game but only started recording videos with Elden Ring.
I really like dragon magic
Same, Dragon Spells look great and are really fun to use!
How well does the Ironjar Aromatic pair with the vulnerability of being knocked out of the air for Placidusax's Ruin?
Does this work on the elden beast
Placidusax's ruin is a dragon cult incantation NOT a dragon incantation.
You are correct, it won't be powered by the Dragon Communion Seal.
@@cRPGBro It also means you don't have to meet the faith requirement for it.
It is possible to do an Samurai Dragon Breath build? I'm trying and finding it a lot fun! But don't know if will be good at late game kk certainly is fun, slash and burn ❤️🔥
It is!
Because you have high Arcane with this Dragon Build, you can also use powerful Katanas that scale with Arcane or add the Occult/Blood Affinity to them, such as the infamous Rivers of Blood 😁
Level 150 with under 50 vigor?
You don't necessarily need it as a Build that has many ranged options from spells and also amazing ways of highly increasing Damage Negation.
You can of course go for 60 with no problems.
Has anyone noticed that jumping with a dragon spell only allows one breathe whereas standing you can get 2? This is w the upgraded ones.
I believe I was able to channel them just fine for 2 bursts when doing it in mid air, for example at 03:08
You can hold them in the air for 2 breaths if the seal you cast with is in your right hand
It has to do with which hand is holding the seal! I had that problem too, I think if seal is in primary hand you can channel the full amount👍
@@jimberlee6257 that’s probably it bc I I like to hold a weapon w bloodhound step while I cast
6:31 😳😳😳
Yeah, it's really amazing how many easy runes you can get at the beginning by killing the Dragon Mother in front of Fort Faroth, and she doesn't even fight back 😁
What button to cast it?
RB/R1 or LB/L1, depending on which hand you have your Sacred Seal equipped on.
Then you can hold the button to channel the Dragon Breaths for example.
@@cRPGBro lol yea I was stupid didn’t know seals existed
It seems the dragon spells in the dragon communion temple change... saw agheels flame the first time, second time i went back it was gone
They don’t change. You might have gone to the other church instead of the cathedral
@@ryanvo6955 missing just one spell, same place
@@darklustgamingchannel4535 Well that's not supposed to happen. All unlocked dragon breaths stay unlocked.
does anyone know how to hold down the dragon incantations
You just keep pressing/holding the casting button, R1/RB if your Sacred Seal is on right hand, or L1 if on the other.
How you do double breath
Keep on charging your Dragon Breath by holding the casting button.
This build OR your Faith build?
Well, the good thing is both builds overlap somewhat and can do the same!
As I also go the Faith/Arcane route for my Faith Guide.
So long as you have the Dragon Communion Seal.
Good build, liked the video. But you don't show much power of build or skill. You'd be better to show how this build works without summons, so more people will trust you. It's just a tip, kind of recommendation for your future channel development.
I'll keep that in mind for the build updates when Shadow of Erdtree comes!
@@cRPGBro one thing I would like you to keep in mind for the build update is explaining how the dragon communion seal scales... because all sources of info I can find say arcane only scales to 45 but all the dragon builds go to 60 so I'm really really confused and I haven't been able to find any info about it.
Thank you for this comprehensive guide. BTW melee = MAYlay.
Thanks for the info, I'll pronounce it better next time 😀
So when you use that Dragon Seal, since a lot of Faith main spells also have Arcane, and that Seal makes Arcane S tier (at full upgrade), are
you better off leveling up Arcane to increase your Faith spells that share the Arcane attribute?
Yes, eventually the Dragon Communion Seal will offer quite powerful Incantation Scaling.
Ideally you want Faith up to 40-45, Arcane up to 60.
You can leave Faith lower if you want too.
Did I ever tell you how I got the nickname The Dragon of the West?
Do tell, Uncle!
11:25 when he actually shows the build
eldersoul best thking vs bosses is stand in one place for 3 seconds...
Why not double seal
It can be a great choice indeed!
Dragon Communion 2x for example, but that requires NG+ or someone to gift you another copy.
Could you do one for 125
For 125, I would stop at around 30 Faith & 45 or 50 Arcane.
You can also go with just 40 Vigor.
Youre mad if you think fire (which has the highest resistances in the game) outclasses glintstone breath.
Magic damage scaling is busted in Elden Ring. Not to mention that magical damage buffs will scale both glintstone and frost breath simultaneously...
how in the name of god did you even cast something in this "build"? Every one and his mother just beat shit out of me before i even start breathing
everything is OP when u look on youtube these days lmfao
Anyone trying this it’s not questing friendly you’ll be completely out of mana going from one place to another. And the delay is significant
Faithful's Canvas is one of the shittest talisman, boosts only %4 dmg and Godfrey Icon does not boost dragon breath speels as they re channeling not charging
This would be a good guide if you didnt go over the 125 barrier
There is no barrier.
You can make a 125 build with this, just go 40/40. Lower health to 40 and use the talisman that increase equip load and if you want use talisman that boost stat points, it’s possible if your not greedy and build properly. This is coming from a lvl 120 mage
Do people really watch these age long videos where people drone on forever? My God gimme the cliffs notes.
