On the English Phantasy Star 3 boxart, the character is actually Nial. I believe that ‘monster’ is actually Lune, so the boxart must be depicting the fight on Dahlia.
Hey thanks for watching and I appreciate the insight! I can accept that the character is Nial, that looks about right. But I'm having a hard time thinking the monster is Lune, they don't look much alike. www.pscave.com/ps3/enemies/lune.shtml
American PSII box art looks like someone traveled to the future and generated it in Stable Diffusion using the words "tough guy with blue hair, purple horned woman, monsters, futuristic background" and grabbed the first result that came out.
Back when these people made box art the artist sometimes had a stupidly short description of what the game was. Like Megaman, the artist had a vaugue discription of what to do from a guy hanging out the window of a moveing car.
It had never occurred to me that the figure on the left of the Phantasy Star IV cover might have been Hahn. No shot that's not meant to be Rune, in my opinion, but you're right; the hair color thing does make it confusing, now that I think about it.
I remember seeing the box art for Phantasy Star 2 and thinking the whole game was just going to be Rolf and Nei, as they looked SOOOOO old, i'm glad that wasn't the case as it'd be very boring if it was 😅😅😅😅
An old friend of mine had a NES Prince of Persia cart that had Rhys from the Japanese cover on its cover. Also for IV, I think the artist just wanted to make Chaz look young.
12:10 Hm, now that I think about it, Chaz features a crazy resemblance to japanese artist "Gackt". They used his face for several videogames (incl. FF Dirge of Cerberus). But yeah, Chaz got the progressive treatment, they went full woke ahead of their time. 14:00 Hm, now that I look at that old man's face, he does look like Ash from Evil Dead with his shotgun and self-indulged stance (,protecting his damsel in distress).
Hah, I also planned on doing such reviews, great job covering for me! Also, you gotta love the no bullshit straight to the point beginning. No asking for subs, or thumbs up. This is plain dedication to the series.
Thanks! Yeah youtube is in a pretty rough state when we are at the point of noticing when people DON'T ask for subs or thumbs ups lol. BTW I like your name
I don't know why you're saying Chaz is a woman on the Japanese PSIV boxart when that's just the artist's style lol. Rune has a very similar face to Chaz on it.
You are reporting about every mistake and then you use a CUSTOM Genesis Boxart at No. 6??? The Original is only used with the japanese Version! Anyway… I agree with you about the other mistakes! 👍🏻
