New way of explaining trim, which I really liked. Thanks for this series. To the point, no distractions or ego. Great.

Excellent, just what I needed. I was struggling to know if the trim moved opposite from my push/pull on the yoke. Thank you sir

So to flare do I use trim wheel or yoke by pulling back?

    Hi scott,
First of all, thanks for sharing this video. I would like to know, if when on a traffic pattern we are making a turn to the base leg and we need to reduce power, the airspeed, for instance, is trimmed for 70 kts, and as we cut off power will the aeroplane pich down until settle down at 70 kts as it was before when on donwind leg? Or if we did not trim the aeroplane again, it will continue to pitch down and increase our air speed beyond 70 kts?
    Thank you

If you don't adjust trim at all the principle is when you decrease or add power the air speed will remain the same It's just that Adjusting power will change the descent rate if I understand your question correctly. Also keep in mind this doesn't account for changes that occur when you add flaps.

What software did you use for this demonstration?

FSX but I would recommend X-plane or Prepar3d until Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 comes out.

How come such a small flap keep the entire plane level?

Amazing how those little hinges can help maintain attitude or airspeed. Without them, your arms might get tired having to push in or pull on the yoke for an extended period!

@@scotthall8723 thanks for the reply Scott. I'm from England/Yorkshire and we are not as lucky as you yanks when it comes to flying opportunities.
But you are so well spoken and easy to listen. You have a fantastic, deep and calming pilot voice. You are articulate and I really wanna watch more of your videos on how to fly. I love how you explain such complex concepts in such a great way!
Honestly you'd make the perfect human ambassador of aviation if we ever made contact with aliens.
Thank you Scott! You the man!
