    I am a new subscriber, have been a nail tech for over 15 years. I love the lazy girl method when I just want a quick set that doesn't require so much effort. I just wanted to add on to the information you provided on the types of nail tips and the length of time they last. You are absolutely correct in your information, and I would like to add that, if you do happen to have the plastic nail tips, buffing the underside of the tip before applying any product and the nails will last just as long.

      Do you have any tips for being able to tell if the tips are gel or plastic? Sometimes I have no idea and most companies don’t specify which material it is

      @@Katemarienailz If you squeezy the tip the middle it turns white, but when you open it out again and it will be clear if they are gel but stay white if plastic. I loved the nails you did.

    I use any full cover tips for this method and one thing that always works to prevent popping off is NEVER skip the base coat step inside the tip, regardless if your encapsulating designs or not. Cure all tips with base coat on the inside first, then add the polygel.

    Can we take a min to appreciate the thoroughness It drives me crazy when watching tutorials and they leave out steps one like if they cure or don't between steps seems minor but makes a HUGE difference so thank you for breaking it all down 💜

    Love the video! I also saw the other one related to this set that shows how to correct popular mistakes. I didn’t see anywhere any discussion of the nail sizes to choose. Do you keep the same size that fits your nail/nailbed or do you size up? I’m planning on doing this method for my next set but I’ve never done it before. Thanks! 💕

    • @Katemarienailz
      @Katemarienailz  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much! You may have seen, someone recommended to put a paper nail form on before placing the nail tip to get a perfectly smooth underside to prevent having the polygel under your nail. You can try that as well!
      As for the tip sizes, I use the same size as I usually wear! I honestly think it depends how the tips fit you.
      If the nail tip size is very snug, you may want to think about sizing up to make sure you have enough room for the polygel. For example, if a nail tip is tight (but fits) when you place the polygel filled nail tip on, you’ll have a lot of polygel squeeze out when pushing it down into position. Which when that happens you can push out too much product, then it won’t adhere too well.

    • @Demi1369
      @Demi1369 3 роки тому +1

      @@Katemarienailz Yeah I was thinking that if they’re too snug it may be kinda bad because too much polygel will spill out. I guess it’s trial and error. I haven’t tried it yet. I have a few days left on this set and by then new polygels will arrive for me to play with so I’ll try it then. Fingers crossed it turns out well! 😬💕

    How many sets do u normally get from one tube with it being just solid color nail set

    • @Katemarienailz
      @Katemarienailz  3 роки тому +1

      I’ll be honest, I haven’t finished a tube yet. I get so many products I’m not able to finish one before getting more.
      It 100% depends on the length, shape, and method of application!
      I checked online, and people say from 2-10 sets with one 15ml tube! Which seems like it would be accurate!

    • @Katemarienailz
      @Katemarienailz  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the support!
      Nope, you don’t remove the full cover tip after you cure. That’s why this method is so fast!

  • @LMThree
    @LMThree 2 роки тому

    I couldn't get the nail to come off the polygel when I tried this idk what I did wrong but everything I used is makartt even my big lamp and I cured for 60s but the full cover nail tip which was a gelly one from double dip wouldn't come off of it

    • @Katemarienailz
      @Katemarienailz  2 роки тому

      That’s the point of this method! The full cover nail tip isn’t supposed to come off. That’s what makes this method SUPER quick compared to other methods 💖

    How long did they last?

    • @Katemarienailz
      @Katemarienailz  3 роки тому +2

      I personally don’t leave my nails on longer than a week because I do them for videos, but if you prep and apply correctly they can last as long as other nails!

  • @cocosugarbar2484
    @cocosugarbar2484 2 роки тому

    How do you remove them??

    • @Katemarienailz
      @Katemarienailz  2 роки тому

      Polygel is a file off product, so you’ll need to clip down the length and file off about 97% of the product. Then you can soak off the remaining

  • @pr3ttyyrickyy91
    @pr3ttyyrickyy91 2 роки тому

    U can cure the marble design first so when u put it on the nail it doesn't smash then add clear n apply

    • @Katemarienailz
      @Katemarienailz  2 роки тому +1

      You probably could. Keep in mind the marble layer should be thin in that case. It may shrink the polygel/nail tip when you cure so it may affect the size to where it won’t fit your nail. But definitely try it and let me know!

    Hi KC I’m a new sub and love your videos! Interested in doing my own nails. In your opinion what is the best poly gel brand you have used and dip powder? Also how many weeks do each of these last? Thank you.

    • @Katemarienailz
      @Katemarienailz  3 роки тому +1

      Hey there! Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to me💖
      I’m happy to hear you’re interested, I personally think polygel is more difficult to recommend because some brands are more stiff or runny than other brands. It honestly depends on your skill set and what you like best! I personally work better with stiffer polygels (Makartt is my fav) but there’s so many good brands! SXC is another one of my favorites because the beauty of their kits, their polygels are more runny (typically).
      As for dip powder, hands down DoubleDipNails! I love everything about that brand! Their products are quality, they’re affordable, vegan & cruelty free, and their customer service has been nothing but excellent! I’ve also worked with beetles dip system, and kiara sky’s dip system! All are great honestly.
      And of course I have discount codes for those companies as well so you can save a bit of money!
      Most all nail enhancements last 2-6 weeks, it honestly depends on your nail prep & application as to how long specifically they last

    Can you reuse these nails if you'd like? If they're not beat up lol

    • @Katemarienailz
      @Katemarienailz  2 роки тому +1

      The full cover tips shouldn’t peel away from the polygel, so I’d say no. If you use plastic tips, they can pop off from the polygel.. which you could re-use them at that point but I personally wouldn’t recommend it ☺️
