Thanks! I totally forgot about yerba mate. I gather it's also primarily a tropical plant, but maybe it could be grown indoors.

@@PeterAllenLab yea they both Illex species. Guayusa is another one and from equador I think. Guayusa has a unique taste compared to yerba. I love all the caffinated hollies.

You can grow tea in America. I grow it in my backyard. There is a tea farm in Louisiana. It’s actual tea too
