- A nice gap in the weather has opened up and Scotty heads out after work to try his luck.
The sun is shining the water is nice but fishing is quiet until Scott finally gets a bite and finds the strangest way he has ever caught a fish.

Good to see its not just me that hooks the anchor or the burly bucket 🤣. I pulled my burly bucket up on 10lb line it was a super struggle, didn't know i had it till it was about 3m from the surface other wise i would have used its rope. Deffently don't want to tango with you, those dance moves over the boat to get that dhu was amazing 😂.
I love watching plagic presuit, the way he talks about moon phases, pressure edges and how fish navigate the leges and where is next level. How long before you get a slow pitch setup? 😂
Thinking about a slow pitch set up. Jack just got one. Don’t do much deep jigging here but potentially could 🤷🏻♂️
@Saltfix I seen a 'budget' slow pitch setup. Bottom fishing 24/4 did a budget video his recommendations.

That's still going to cost close to $400 and really it's not going to do much extra than your current setups are doing. Slow pitch is good for your water depth of 30m but so is bait on those jig heads 👍.

The swell was huge.
I sounded over where it was breaking yesterday and it’s 9-10 m deep there.
Very scary.
The boys were all good they had all the safety gear and radio. The other jet skis came past just as I got there.

Anchor winch had no issue bringing the dhuy in.
I was out that day too and the swell was crazy. Was only out near the first stick too. 87cm dhu in 8m though 👌🏻

I bought a bundle pack recently of 155gram snapbaits thinking i would use them this school holidays. I did and headed out to my usual spot 25kms from point peron, and sure enough had a couple big hook ups and lost fish. Turned out the hooks on both rigs got bent from the fish. Apparently old stock snapbaits only suited for light inshore fishing? What a joke, who buys 155gram bottom meat style rigs for inshore fishing? Next time I get a chance to go fishing and there is no demersal ban i think I will only trust my own rigs.
I’ve had no trouble with em but I only fish light. 30pd so can’t put that much pressure .

I can understand better now why I should get brand new motor
2 types of people die on high risk activities, inexperienced noobs and highly experienced people, because of complacency. I appreciate you know what your doing, but climbing around your boat, with no life jacket during a situation where you pull up your anchor, can lead to you disappearing forever !
