@@joshdfishing hi josh Is this a scam someone said I get a prize look in the comments below
@@kobylfishing6228 it’s an obvious scam. Don’t click anything that says something like that. I’d never comment something like that
@@joshdfishing thank I was just about to
Man this dude knows how to work a lure, I love to see a talented lure fisherman….. love your work bro, you’ve clearly put the time in to learn and it shows.
Luv your work young fella but like you ole man we have been catching fish longer than you have been on this planet. Sometimes it’s not about all the new fancy gear it’s about being compatible with what you have. Keep ‘em coming young fella. Al🎣👍🏽
watching this when Im doing my lesson
W
Great rig for mullet. They won't feel the rod when they bite and bringing one in on that rig will be one hellava contest! Yes, I am dropping a hint here...
Hey Josh, my kids (and me too) love watching your videos. You have inspired us all to fish more and they want to go every chance they get! They have been asking what knots you use in general and to tie on your lures and soft plastics. Might be a good video to make if the fish are on the nod and not biting thus not giving you a video. Keep doing what you are doing! I can see so many people love your vids and so do I.
Oh mate thats awesome! Glad you and the little ones like watching the videos.
And I should do a knot video. But in the mean time. For the little ones when tying braid to leader. I would use a double uni knot for starting. I personally use a fg but the uni is very simple and strong.
Also for lures I tie a single uni knot👌🏼
Thanks mate
Mate, your editing skills are going through the roof. Love watching your fishing and videography progress, keep up the great work!
i love how you put 110% effort into your videos no matter what, keep at it👍

love ya stuff bro! been watching yoour videos for a couple weeks now, as ive only just started fishing haha.
keep up the content bro! seeing such a young cool aussie kid doing stuff like this, bring back my faith in our genarations. Joshy D for aussie youtube persident!
For me Josh, I believe I would only use a rod like that when angling with bait….what I did notice was you certainly worked your skill into finally managing the rod on both soft plastics and casting hard bodies. I used a Shimano nibble tip rod when I fished Wonboyn last year and I was using soft plastic lures….I found it best to just strike with a firm yet gentle lift….this method certainly was more suited to the nibble tip. Another wonderful video Josh.
Not only just bait, also with lighter jig heads. You can cast the 1/32 oz jig heads easier. Good for LRF and Ajing. Even some 1/64oz with 1 or 1.5 inch plastics
I can see your thinking Mark. Every rod is a compromise. I have a very "over flex" rod and find it is good to fight fish with but not ideal for casting or controlling lures over shallows. I find the flexi rods great for kids as the flex is forgiving to sudden movements, by fish and angler. I place the rod in a rod holder with a light weight prawn lure while I cast with a proper spinning rod. Catching fish while in the rod holder is interesting as the flex allows them to play themselves out. As you said , bait rod. Either way great concept for a video.
That rod is super classic. Nice content. Good on you mate.
Sick video josh, crazy how bendy that thing is🤙🏽
Thanks man!
about as bent as me
Love it brotha that's also a bendy rod ×10
Welcome to another edition of Josh D Wet tracksuit fishing 🤣🤣 Great vid. Fish on bloke
We love the wet trackies haha
What a bloody legend yahoo
Ahh bro wet trackies are the worst.. I've had a few this winter 🤦🐟🤟✌
What A good dad 😂
spike 44 in the matte prawn colour has caught me so many fish
Wow......that is one mighty flexible rod Josh!!
I'd imagine it would take some getting used to, especially trying to set the hook!!
Awesome video as usual!!
Yeah very different that’s for sure. Would still be keen to hook and salmon or something on it!
Hey josh; it bends so far down that it’s really hard to set hooks while hopping plastics but effective for hardbodys on the straight wind, as the rod has give when the fish eats your lure with tight line but if it’s slack line fishing it’s not for those rods
@@joshdfishing A little salmon?? How about a kingie or bluefin tuna?? 😂😂
My main rod is a jarvis walker scorpion 8", my dads rods is jarvis walker vector III and IV 7"6'. We both upgraded reels for xmas and have the shimano sienna 4000 reels with 10lb line. They both are a budget setup, the rod is $30 and the reel is $50 and combos amazing.
We do all our fishing on these setups from squid, whiting, flathead, salmon and snapper. They are very whippy rods not as much as the one featured but we love this style. Our biggest fish on these setups are a 78cm snapper and a 1m 48cm gummy shark. It just goes to show what a light rod and line is capable of.
very nice video Josh
Would make a great little tout rod... that whippieness would allow you to throw a splitshot/nymph rig or really light lures for them
Reminds me of the old Jarvis walker black queen I had when I was a kid !
17:48
Yep that’s my father.. he’s got a telescopic rod that’s 8 years old a shimano 4500IX, the rods eyelets have disconnected from the rod itself and he still catches anything that takes the bait .. he doesn’t want me to buy him a new combo, he loves it too much
Forget an UL rod, someone send this man some waders!
Hey Josh loving the videos just wondering where u catch some of Ur fish because I fish freshwater and I am going somewhere down the south coast and I'm pretty sure you fish the south coast great video bro can't wait to see the next
That’s huge
Wibble Wobble, Wibble Wobble, Wibble Wobble Wibble Wobble Wibble Wobble ~FishOn 🐟
Nice vid, thank you!! I can not imagine how to fishn' with a whip.. ☝😅👍💝
really good reel n rod, basti wire, greetings from aceh my boss
i fish with this rod off the boat for skippy! actually has caught some snapper too, dont doubt the noodle!
Mate it’s hardy!! Doesn’t even feel like it wants to break when I bent it that much
Got the same rod and have pulled 48cm snapper , 80cm snook and it’s bloody amazing 🤩
Gr8 vid man all ways enjoy watching u fish but The diawa freams reels r g8 for the price I have 3 n landed a 77cm flatty on the surface fist time on surface with 6lb braid n 4lb leader a week ago on a brand new reel n rod that I got for my birthday
If you do UL fishing you would appreciate the rod more. It would be good off the pier with some small jig heads targeting small stuff for fun.
Love it
Cmon bro roll ya trackies up
Saw you today at Compleat Angler.
Yo great vid where did you buy the rod
Dad is chuffed at the beaut new real but is probably looking after your best interest, “don’t spend your hard earned on me”. Either that or he wanted a Revelry. 😂
Yeah haha🤣 he just doesn’t get to fish much unfortunately. Working full time and likes relaxing on the weekend🙏
@@joshdfishing the episodes your dad joined you were great! Really nice to see.
Hey bro where are you from all these places in your vids look amazing, really enjoying your content man keep it up 👌
I’m on the south coast nsw man
@@joshdfishing Yeh right I'm Sydney/wollongong and all your spots are so different and off tap👌. could you recommend roughly any areas that are good for shore jigging been chasing bream and flattys since I could hold a rod and worked on a charter for a while so I need smthn new and I'm getting keen on pelagics and need some spots obvs not asking for your special ones just need a fellow fisho to point me in the general direction.
love the vids can you tell me where you’re fishing
YAY
Saltiga made a bait caster rod that had the same action as that rod I think there made for hardbody lures with trebles. If you don’t want the rod I’ll have have it
You need to go murray cod fishing
What size jig head do you recomend for 2.5 inch minnow
Hey Josh could you give the savage gear 3D 4play v2 it’s a herring it’d be cool to see you snag a flatty with it
Hey josh, I got the same reel with the same braid only I have a 6000, worth the money, what are your thoughts on it?
What’s the best Buget reel
Josh me and my dad love watching your videos and It would me my dream to meet you thanks

If and when is the big perch video coming?
Never even filmed it man. Wouldn’t put that spot in a video anyways

😁I'm that dad mate lol always been a javis man i love a good kmart rod hahaha. I currently run the focus range . They do a 6.6" an 8" and a 12" and i got em all 🤷♂️
Um🤔 how do i do that lol
Should go try catch bonito on that rod 🤣
We’re is that place I think I have fished there before
Hey Josh can you run us through your camera gear
you should really use the muscle lure
Are you in Australia
Hi josh can give me a soft plastic recommendation for flathead in around 8 metres of water
3 inch zman minnow in motor oil. 1/4th jighead👌
Josh can you pls reply
Bendiest is one way to describe it
Flibbity snagglepops
The bend in that rod may or may not have had the opposite effect on me
How didn’t that thing whip back and hit josh in the face haha
hi josh do u have any recommendations on what rod and reel I can get that is good budget $250 and a good pack of lures maybe for flathead
Daiwa td hyper rod- $150ish
Daiwa aird 2500 reel $100
Get ya self some Zman slim swimz and some 1/8th jigheads
My grand father is just the same. When ever I go down to Adelaide to go fishing with my grandfather I usually have two new $300+ reels and about 40 new lures to try out. And when I tell him this lure was $26 bucks he flips 😂. And says you Don't need this much. Also Don't let him touch any of my rods or reels he can use his old shakspear rods and old alveys and Old blocky Abu Garcias and daiwas and 30kg monofilament line for 1kg Australian salmon. And he can also continue to just use bait like when there's a big school of salmon along the beach he can use his stinky can't even stay on the hook pilchards I'll use my 15lb braid with a 4000 size reel and a nine foot 4.7kg rod and a metal lure He can use a 8000 size and a 13 foot broom stick and pilchards and haveing to bend down and scratch around in a bag of smelly defrosted pilchards every 5 minutes I can just cast and retrieve.
I’ve caught smaller flatty 😎
