The Michelin guide was originally created to get people to drive/travel more so they'd use out their car tires.
I dont have a clue about higher cuisine but watch this guy. He instantly shares his joy with his team, telling them WE are getting a 2nd star, not I AM getting a 2nd star. His reaction is pretty impressive tbh
I love the fact that he gets up and heads straight for his team to tell them. Having worked in the kitchen of a 2 Michelin star restaurant we worked our asses off. The only thing harder than getting a 2nd star is keeping it.
Well, everyone should know that luck is always part of the equation. People who think that effort fully determines success have not only got no clue, but they belittle everyone who put all their effort into something and still fail. For me the guy is right. He did his best, everything else was out of his hands and luckily the jurors were pleased.
I can see lots of top comments about the head chef himself. For me, I think it’s the reaction of the staff that shows what a team he has built there. Congratulations to all well done.
loved how the chef was like, "maybe we should have a glass of Champagne to celebrate?" like he has to actually ask for fucking permission when he earned those 2 stars like a boss.
Chef literally said "We are actually allowed to be happy!" and that is the persona of real hard workers. Perfectionists. Congrats guys! On to the third!
within every restaurant live 1001 gremlins waiting to tear everything appart. successfully running nightly service in a high volume, high expectation environment is little more than hand-to-hand combat against each of those gremlins

I needed this so badly tonight. Needed to be reminded of happiness that comes from putting in the work. You two are the absolute best - thanks so much for this very special video.
His staff respect him and he respects his staff for what they bring to their work. A well deserved award. Wonderful to see a chef who is not about his ego.
this reminds me of the tenured PhD on a review board who would call back in doctoral candidates, after they have defended their written thesis, the supporting evidence, and were then sent out of the room while the merit of work was discussed... and are anxiously awaiting whether she/he achieved or had to rework through,... he would go to the hall where the candidate was waiting and ask " Doctor XXXXXX, would you please come back in?"... being the first person who called her or him "Doctor"... said is was a supreme joy.
That made me happy. The person deserved it! I may not get a chance to go to such a expensive place in life but I admire his sacrifice and hardwork. Dreams are not always reached by everyone and so rarely do they come completely true but what matters most is the hard work, dedication, and passion we put in along the way and you can see it in his face when he teared up a bit. Kudos.

The Michelin star rating started in 1926, upgraded in 1931 with 1 to 3 stars awarded, goes like this!: 1 star is for a very good table; 2 stars is for excellent cuisine, and 3 stars is for exceptional cuisine.
Awesome guy... And I don't even know him... But it shows in his attitude and his staff's attitude towards him... I am sure his food will reflect this well.
No matter what you think of Michelin stars as a proper way to recognise a restaurant - and the almost absurd lengths many chefs go in their pursuit of those stars - I think we can still appreciate a chef who feels such a deep sense of accomplishment and gratitude for this kind of recognition. The fact that he wants his entire team around him to break the news also says a lot about him. Well done, ladies and gentlemen. :)
Everyones complete shock and stunned silence shows just how hard people work for those stars. To get two stars your have to not only deliver on great food but great service which requires a dedicated team that is hyper focused on nothing but perfection. Well earned guys!
To see someone achieving their passion! It's so wonderful! The crew's response to the announcement brought tears to my eyes! Congratulations to a great team! Well deserved!!!
