Thanks for these folding videos,I live in a fifth wheel RV and took up quilting about a year ago. Needless to say my stash is taking over my space. Saw this too late for the Konmari contest but will definitely use the technique...and subscribed to your site. Elaine Legere
Before you are lost forever in your stash, Read This! Start by measuring your shelves and then look for bins to fit. Now you can go through your material and sort the yardage. TIP: Keep the small cuts away from each other as they tend to migrate into the wrong pile! DO NOT FOLD YET AND DO NOT SORT BY COLOR!! Your 1/2 yd cuts require a different fold than your 3 yard cuts! Once sorted by yardage, NOW sort by color. Grab a bin and figure out how to fold your first stack! Trust me on this!!! I have limited storage and shelves of different heights! You will save LOTS of time refolding and refolding. Ask me how I know! PS> My therapist says I can have visitors now! LOL!
I fold my fabric completely different. I have them so when I pull a fabric for a quilt I just unfold one edge and am already for cutting. It looks like your way you would have to undo it all, press then refold to cut. The fabric I'm going use for a quilt are all placed together with the pattern. They are all set in a different place away from my usable stash. Thanks for your tutorials!
Roseanne Carr Atkinson - how do you fold it? If I could fold 6-8 yards in a method which allows me to unfold only what I need a lot of time would be eliminated.
I have been looking for a way to fold my larger garment fabric. The folding the method will work wonderfully. I had small pieces folded very similar. I see in the video the fabric is all turned right side out which is very handy. However, when I have 6-7 yards of fabric turning the fabric right side out is not so easy. Do you have a method of folding or idea with the wrong side out but able to see a portion of the right side? The video is great!
I store small things in the drawers of the hutch behind me in the videos. It was mean for a dining room, so the silverware drawers are great for small things.
Omg, thank you so much for this video. I had a huge bag of fabric that was taking up so much space. Now I got a small basket and a small bag.

Glad it will help! Good luck fitting it all in.
I love it that you said you got those fat quarters a couple of years ago, and you haven't opened it yet! Gives me hope!
LOL! I’ll get to it someday!
I was thinking the same “ohhhh I’m not alone in this game of hoarding “😝🤣❤️😀

would love to know how to fold different yardage like 2/3, 3/4, 1/3. Thanks. We have put away a lot of fabric so far
Thank you so very much!! I had wondered about the project boxes, and also about big cuts. I LOVE listening to your videos. Keep 'em coming!

Glad you liked it. I always fold with right sides out.
My sewing area is a small area I’m always looking for ideas
Wonderful! Working through my sewing room. So what about pre-cuts and strips?
I talk about precuts in this one and I don’t save strips.
I am KonMari ing my stash right now. I find that its easier to use a board for bigger pieces.
So ironic your name! I am "Housewives Anonymous"...just getting started. Appreciated your videos and liked. Thanks!
I find if I roll the cut applica fabric in small “burrito” and stack them in a cubicle of their own , I know there is a cut out of it.
I too use that method with my garment fabric.
Once the fabric is all folded and in bins, how do you store the bins? Thank you.
I just set them in shelves
That sequin fabric and the fleece, for your daughters sweat shirt, are you able to share the pattern you use please?
I have every shape, size and colour...??
What about everything else pins and stuff?
I store small things in the drawers of the hutch behind me in the videos. It was mean for a dining room, so the silverware drawers are great for small things.
Oh the world of a 4 year old lol
