And dude proved why he’s a general by adapting and having flight in just hours when Clark needed 33 years… Zod would’ve been unstoppable if he fully adapted with his soldiers
And if I’m not wrong the sun had a big part to do with Clark’s power or something like that and he gained a lot of power due to the fact of how much earth got the rays from the sun?
It's poetic
Zod is an absolute beast of a villain. DC treated Zod the complete opposite Marvel treated hulk.
I mean General rod is not actually a villain who just brings destruction, He just wanted kryptonians to survive and in fact, he was artificially and genetically designed to be a general and save his man in every way possible, that is his purpose in life.
Rolando still don't get why they wanted to terraform the earth to be like Krypton.
The Kryptonite would have killed them all because the earth would be full of it and but under a yellow sun.
But I guess they didn't know about Kryptonite effects under a yellow sun yet.
ALL HAIL GENERAL ROD
@@abongilezolanipeterson2737 what do you mean? Yellow sun enhances kryptonian cells and literally makes the kryptonians OP, the same way supes got insane powers from spending a lifetime of growing under a yellow sun.
Zod and his men aren't weakened by kryptonite because they spent their entire lives growing up in Krypton and adapting to its environment/atmosphere or whatever you want to call it. They are however, very susceptible to earth's conditions simply because of the reason I stated before. Also, that's why supes is threatened by kryptonite and safe under the yellow sun on earth. The only exception being Zod himself, simply because he was literally bred for the sole purpose of being Krypton's super-commander/colonist and has decades of experiences at adapting to the enviroments/conditions of the plants he's fought to colonise.
As for the terraformation, I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the film that they seeked out colonies of Krypton and other worlds in multiple systems but just couldn't find a planet that was inhabitable. Unlike earth, which can support life (because of its position in the system from the sun and it's underlaying geography which resembles Krypton in alot of ways).
Btw, none of this is extra information. Everything's clearly been covered in the film.
@@lemongeezer1157 This is not true.
Zod is also affected by Kryptonite when he is living under a yellow sun .
Kryptonite only becomes radio active when it is in a yellow star system and when that happens it becomes harmful to Kryptonians.
Proof of this is that in Batman vs Superman, Lex tested the Kryptonite on Zod's corpse. That's how he knew that it was harmful to Kryptonians.
Yes Kryptonians can adapt to different environments, we already knew that from Kal El, but they can't adapt to yellow sun radio active Kryptonite.
Zod would have had to terraform the sun as well into a red sun to make earth inhabitable after he terreformed the earth otherwise all the Kryptonians would have had to stay on armor 24 seven because the earth would have become full of radioactive Kryptonite.
Every villain is the hero in their own story... at least the well written ones.

It’s better than all Marvel Movies and I see this movie in a class that will be considered amazing for generations to come.
I agree. This movie was almost about perfect. Michael Shannon's character of Zod is a remarkable and complex tour de force. A man (well, a "being" I guess) who was so determined to his devotion to his people/race/civilization that he would end another to save it (crush Earth to build a new Krypton) was a conflict that makes you examine the character. Was Zod a monster? Did Krypton deserve to be saved and rebuilt? Only a true "fatalist" would side with Kal El when it comes to the end of an entire species, versus the alternative of possibly saving it from extinction. Zod was right all along, even if his actions were to harm a lesser species.

Warner Tried to FORCE a universe on top of this movie, but that doesn't change the fact that this is one of the best Superman adaptations we've ever been given.
Zack had some semblance of a plan to create a larger universe when he made this movie.
I think they were partially successful in creating a shared universe but they mess up.
What they should have done after this film is do self contain story ben affleck batman movie set befor the event of mos then after that do BvS(with a better story) which should have officially solidfied the shared universe.
Here's how l see their "phase 1" should have been:
1-man of steel
2-the batman
3-BvS
4-Wonder woman
5-the flash
6-Justice league
@@bashengatheblackmanta7003 Yeah if Warner Bros took their time and used this "Phase 1" to kickoff the DCEU it would have been well received imo, what we got is a DCEU with so much potential but was half-assed since WB was trying to catch up to Marvel and Disney
It's still kinda possible, but that's if WB would let Zack finish what he started. WB keeps pulling the plug on these things.
Thats the thing I feel Zack Snyder's version is such that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Each film and the character's actions would make more sense with each new film and it would have come beautifully together with the final film in his series of DCEU. BUT sadly we never got it.

No taste, my friend. The haters just have no taste.
I overall thought it was a decent film. But their were some premises that could use tweaking. My grip is the whole krypton blowing up in comparison with their advance technology, should have made it more ambiguous. So we can could have maybe a Brainiac reveal.
Most people don't like change.
I also enjoyed the Christopher Reeves films, but Man Of Steel took it up a few notches in my opinion. With improved Special FX, everything was perfect about MoS including the soundtrack. Henry Cavill was fantastic.
I think it’ll do a blade runner. It will be better appreciated with the passing of time. Christopher Reeve movies were great but this movie IS Superman...at least for the present age.
@@Quantum3691 It also had another aspect most Superman films never had to deal with: Social Media. Now, I'm not talking you or me, no, I'm talking within the setting. Facebook, UA-cam, etc, they all exist in this film-verse, and it's stuff like that that could cause issues for him, and did. He couldn't stay in one space for very long, because the second he did something heroic, people would blab about it on Social Media, and he'd have to relocate again. Adding this aspect into the film-verse was a good move in my opinion. Hell, Henry Cavil sells the isolation that Clark felt growing up, and you see it throughout the film. Those long stares he gives, and even a few instances where he doesn't look certain people in the eye... Clark from the 20s to the early 90s never had to deal with things like Social Media. He never had to worry about someone going "Hey, aren't you that guy that did...", he could easily blend into the crowd, and just be who he wanted to be.... Clark Kent in the 2010s? No chance. But, becoming a reporter, gave him the excuse he needs to be where trouble happens... and a nice paycheck to boot.

That is the one time his fanaticism breaks through his cool demeanor, and it is frightening in its intensity. With a good script, actor and director, fanatics can be the most dangerous antagonists there are.
Disagree. They wasted a clearly good actor in this scene. Repeating the same line three times was kind of stupid I thought.
I really think they missed an opportunity with Zod. Earlier in the movie Zod accuses Jor-El of heresy. They should've continued Zod's story on that basis, a religious basis. Made him an inquisitor of sorts instead of a warlord. He and Jor-El could've agreed that Krypton was doomed, but Zod's reasoning wouldve been religious where Jor-El's was scientific. Thus his final line in this scene might've been, "and he will repent" or "and he will brought to contrition" or something else an absolute zealot would exclaim. Difficult lines like that wouldve been great for an actor this good, particularly since "contrition" is a word that can end with gritted teeth.
Just my opinion. This movie reminds me a lot of the 2012 tron movie. Tons of potential and good talent, but there's just something lacking.

Imagine being put on ice for a century or more, and then coming out to find the world completely different... or in the case of Zod and his compatriots... completely gone
In the comics it's called The Phantom Zone, and while you can't age, or die there, it's a wasteland. Supposedly you can see everything that happens, but are unable to do anything about it.
He's pissed because Krypton is going to explode. No one will be there to awaken them. The Council know this, but won't admit it.
I was a bit miffed, the novelization has Zod call them out on it, and that's why he freaks out at them.
@@MrImastinker Exactly . That's why he was yelling that Jor-El was right.
@Ray Cosby - He says "somatic reconditioning"
These movies are way better than whatever Marvel produced till now. Simply Amazing.
yep. it is a shame they didn't build the entire DC saga with this tone
dc always have a darker tone which marvel could never achieve, yet WB only saw the profit and tried so hard to copy marvel's success.
Jealous , your words clearly shows jealousy
It's all terrible
There’s no way this movie is better than Infinity War, Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy or the Netflix shows. Come on.
I like how Faora steps forward with Zod when he gets angry at council. Awesome attention to detail!
The conviction in that man’s eyes as he says the last “i will find him” is something incredible. Sheer determination.
Love the fact that he tells her he will find him and then again by her name and her expression turning slightly worrisome as if convinced by his claim because she feels he just might do just that despite his punishment. This movie was awesome, Shannon is legendary.
Yep, and he was never filmed in a superhero movie before, just some dramas on TV. And he doesnt have the the physic to be a supervillain fighting Superman but somehow it worked and he now is one of the best villains of all time, on par with Joker from the Dark Knight .
Kiro: Shouldn't you find refuge?
Lara: There is no refuge, Kiro. I must die a dramatic death.
Kiro: Ma'am, there are spaceships all over the planet. Also, why haven't YOU been sentenced to the Phantom zone?
Lara: I HAVE SPOKENNN!
Husband: dead
Child: gone
Planet: destroyed
Colonies: deserted
Yea, what was she thinking?
@@jello4479 Could be that Kryptonians won't let her leave. After all she was complicit in Jor-Els crimes and sent the codex to an unknown region
She should of yelled mid-trial "Hail General Zod!" and bent the knee.
Judge: Lady Lara! You support this mad man? For that alone, you too are banished!
@@MrTREEHUNTER22 And that's exactly why she should have been sentenced to the Phantom Zone too. She conspired with her husband to steal the most precious thing on the planet: the literal genetic template to create new Kruptonians. The key to the survival of their society. That's a lot worse than a simple military coup.
Yet, Zodd and his fellows got yeeted into a black hole, while Lara was just...put into house arrest?
Makes zero sense.
@@shaggygoatboy1125 I guess in krypton or in earth the laws works the same... rich people gets only slapped in the wrist for more worst crimes
Why were they turned into didos ,what kinda “black hole” are they going in 😆
V hole
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Darkseid's
The back hole
The asshole blackhole
Possibly the most rage driven and intense villain ever portrayed. Shannon was a monster in this movie and it made the move that much better
Am I the only one still can't get over this scene since the release of this movie? One of the profound expression of emotion in the movies ever. Phenomenal performance by Michael Shannon.
0:57 when you are playing warzone and your number one enemy starts looking for you 🤣
i honestly do not know why people didn't like man of steel.
i enjoyed it and henry cavill done an excellent job of portraying superman.
The movie had so many plot and visual inconsistency.
The movie was rlly hyped but it underwhelmed alot of fans
Because it had no real story. It just jumped from one scene to another. Louis Lane was weak, Non who was an important character and was not even in it. The new Zod is weak compared to the acting skills of Terrence Stamp. Faora was awesome and carried most of that movie. Snyder sucks.
@@frederick2690 New Zod is Weak? What are you talking about? No real Story? Oh Boy, sorry for you.
most people liked it, but this came out around the time of the dark knight rises and the avengers movies so the standards were incredibly high. It was really well done tho if it were released today I think it would be better received.
Zod: You think your son is safe? I will find him.
Me: Wait for it...
Zod: I will find him
Me: Wait...
Zod: I will find him, Lara
Me: Wait, here it comes....
Zod: I WILL FIND HIM!!!
Me: YES!!
trylobyte07 hahaha😆
Goose bumps. Every. Fuckin. Time.
😂😂😂👍
trylobyte07 This scene is friggin awesome! He had me at.... “And you.” when he looked at her. Gulp! You fear for her when he says that.
Yeah, yeah... You found him and he beat your ass like a drum and snapped your neck like a twig. Nice bit of self fulfilling prophecy there. If you and the other escaped Phantom Zone prisoners had just left the quest for vengeance alone and concentrated your efforts on using the salvaged Kryptonian World Engine technology to find and transform another planet into a viable colony world and then populate it the old fashioned way your race and culture would not be near extinct save one sole survivor, KAL EL. YOU UTTER MORON.
This movie was a masterpiece. I can not believe how people can like captain marvel and not this. It was gold ❤️❤️❤️
Shaeil Babur it’s meh bud
@@twistedgale you are so typical. No one puts up a good argument why it's bad. same with BvS. Y'all just say it's not good or put up a weak argument.
George Halas you are such a child. Learn to spell before you end up replying idiot
George Halas i just think that most of the people take these movies on their ego. Like they just want the other party to lose. I have seen similar people on DC’s side as well who just want marvel movies to be flop. So yeah sometime entertainment industry is not so much entertaining.😁
What the fuck does captain Marvel have to do with anything??
This movie was way ahead of its time.
1:21 anyone else notice those prison capsules have a rather...unique shape?
Yes. VERY unique shapes, I’m glad I’m not the only one who has noticed that
No one has ever noticed that in the history of ever OR noticing things.
Just needs 2 balls and a sack
Yeah thats what happens when your a dick
@@anthonycarr992 lol😂
0:57 Me looking for my phone that's on *silent mode*
True 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Underrated film. Michael Shannon is great in this.
He was better in the ice man
Graphic artists like this should be recognized as much as actors. Absolutely brilliant
Watching Zod's blind, murderous rage; the primal, savage passion in his eyes & the sheer, unrelenting intensity in his voice.. it was at that moment (1:43) Lara knew he will find him.
3:09 “make a better world than ours kal”
Years later: Kal destroys humanity Bc darkseid kills Lois” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's not Canon.
@@JynxedKoma wouldn’t be canon anymore after Batman gives his life to stop Lois from dying which would then undo all of that. You must not have seen how zack said these movies would end
@@krisibarra2904 Would have been nice to see as a film though. But apparently Zack is finished with it now. Either that or he's been silently pressured not to continue it by the studio.
Yeah tbh it was a lame excuse
its beacuz darkseid comtrols superman using antilife
The soundtrack of this movie was amazingly majestic👑
People talk about zod not screaming in pain because of rage but nam-ek in the background was looking like🕴️🗿
Didn't even flinch
1:15 damn. He was too pissed to scream out in pain like his other soldiers.
watch the other two in the back. the actors probably forgot to scream lol
@@JJ_Flyyy one of them opened their mouth.

_And you who disliked this video. You believe you're safe behind your keyboard?_
I will find you!!!
I will find you!!!
*I WILL FIND YOU*
No, no you will not.
Notice when we see the spaceship from Lara’s point of view, it seems like rain drops on the screen....it’s actually her starting to cry. Nice touch.
I like the fact that, in this version of Superman he's not just the last Kryptonian but he's also all of Krypton because Jor-El fused the codex to him.
This scene right here.... In IMAX was just amazing. The soundtrack, the visuals, just stunning.
Every now and then when I'm feeling a little unmotivated I come here for inspiration! If he can be damned to a blackhole across the damn galaxy, assemble an army, find superman on earth and come back with a got damn world engine......Surely I can make it!!!!! Hell! I will find him!!!! Zod was the man!
Damn right😈😈
WE WILL FIND OUR PURPOSE !!!!!!!
I like the fact that Kryptonians are identical to humans, but their behaviour is distinctly alien, even in the midst of their civilisation's collapse they remain stoical almost callous, their expressions remain the same, almost constantly, the only passionate emotion they seem to show is anger.
Y'know what's great? He does actually find him. That's some good character development right there.
I like how Zod waits a few beats before going off at the council. Maybe they'd even started thinking, "He's taking this really well..."
"Oh good. He's not gonn.... never mind...... who's he gonna find?"
Snyder: "I think the way the Phantom Zone is portrayed needs an update from the Reeve films. It's just way too goofy."
Concept artist: "Alright, what did you have in mind?"
Snyder: "For starters? Penis rockets."
Concept artist: "....very good, sir."
Zod: I WILL FIND HIM!
Me: It’s JUST hide and seek dude!
The last shout of "I will find him" gets more attention but I actually really like the 2nd to last time he says. So calm, so assured. It's far more unnerving than the shout afterwards
