This happens in the base game too. I was doing the battle rush for fun because I had nothing better to do and I get hit with the "OH, OKAY"
Knight's hand can "crush" you where the hand slams down regardless of difficulty even in the main part of the game. I didn't know until it happened to me once when playing the update 1 island time trial challenges and I had to redo the one for Chaos Island. If you stand still right when the Knight fight starts you should be fine, but it's definitely an unexpected thing since getting crushed by Knight or Giganto is such a rare thing to have happen on accident.
I got crushed by Knight's hand on this very same boss rush. It was my first time I beat Wyvern with more than 15 or so rings, so I was crushed in the metaphorical sense as well as the literal.
I actually got crushed by the hand on my first attempt at fighting Knight when the game just came out.
I don't think it' supposed to kill you from THAT distance tho

I means it kinda makes sense, because it's a giant hand squishing a tiny hedgehog, but if Sonic can destroy 3 mountains by being thrown and not even losing consciuness this seems little in comparison
I genuinely don't understand keeping the build-up section to the titans, it does nothing besides make this challenge way more of a hassle and time consuming. (In a challenge where you're SUPPOSED to be blitzing through these fights.)
All it serves as is a potential way for you to lose rings in this mode, which is kinda unfair given gow we only got 400 seconds to fight these bosses which have QTEs that you still lose your rings in such as Giganto's laser beam. Heck, even the parry bits with Wyvern when he tries to strike you after you parry a bullet of his is just a QTE that you still lose rings in.
And Wyvern’s section just wastes so much time bruh

Wyvern is hard, yes but overral the trial is hard and for reason. MOST people of the Sonic comunity wanted a challenge and here we go crying it was well deserved.
4th if you think its not fun tell me how do you feel when you beat the entire thing on hard mode. Its souls level if joy when you beat something after 10+ hours

For this section I usually just spindash off of a tiny bump in the terrain and spam parrys letting me just hover over everything until the hand slam then I move away, works on hard too

thankfully I died to that the first time I fought knight. I came paranoid as hell to the trials after that one.
As someone who spent time speedrunning the game back on launch, this happened to me more times than I can count.
So apparently Master King has two voice audios during the boss rush, One when you beat the only three enemies when climbing up the tower to fight the Wyvern, when he says “Excellent”, and two when Sonic dies before going Super hy saying “Trial failed.”
The claw chooses who will go and who will stay.

I thought the intended strategy is to run a short distance and then boost to the hand and jump over the spikes. It’s what I’ve always done

This kinda happened to me on hard. I think I was 170 seconds left after getting here the 2nd time and I got stun locked to death when the Knight went spinny spinny with spikes.
Basically taught me to always stay airborne until the hand comes down lol.
Wyvern was the one that got me hella times. It was only because that mf attacks SO fast and you have a small parry window
Very strangely this only happened to me once and that was only from going through he main story and from that point onwards I thought to myself, back the hell away from the Knight when he is about to drop his hand
I had a good run end when I accidentally backed into the lavafall. I totally forgot you could insta die from it down there, considering the only time it ever happened to me before was when on my first playthrough of the game. After it happened, that's when I gave up, and switched it to Normal difficulty.
The exact same thing happened to me! But luckily my next run was nearly flawless and I managed to beat Knight in my next attempt haha
I had 205 rings and got hit by the feet spikes. Instant 0 rings xD
I did beat him 2 tries later

I threw my controller so hard when I died to that attack cuz I thought it was a glitch. When I got hit by it the first time I was able to air boost and get back but this time it didn’t give me any time to do that.
That exact same thing happened to me and my soul just left my body when it did
Crushing in Sonic games is always an instant kill.
I died right before the Knight fight, too. Was so looking forward to being done at the time (had an amazing Wyvern run that I was never able to get as good afterwards), but instead had to go back and do it many more times.
Similar thing happened to me but I got flattened by the hand instead.

This exact thing happened to me as I was trying to learn where to stand so I would stop getting hit by his legs. I just sat there and held my breathe for nearly a full minute cause it was 5am and I had been trying this for about 3 hours straight.
Glad I completed the entire update but I’m never doing this again lol
dude that happened to me too on my best run. (hint: you can do a boost or parry mid air to avoid taking damage)
you can actually not get killed by it. when youre in the air you have time to air boost or dodge. that prevents you from dying and once you hit the ground youre dead

It's also useful for avoiding the loss of rings, dodge in the air post-hit and NO DAMAGE is taken, just make sure you're in the air and you're golden
@@jts.1535I don’t think perfect parrying it is the play, just do boost and you should be fine. Though be careful of the next set of spikes since when you’re about to touch the ground they will be kinda close to you.
I was pissed when that happened. But not as bad as when I was at the end, the last quick time event, and I failed it. I was so angry.

In KNIGHT's section, I'd recommend you to do nothing, not even move. He won't hit you at all while spinning, when he stops you'll move.
I experienced this before the update, I knew to beware this man.
All you have to do is to do nothing and wait.

Bro facts
After getting crushed by Asura one time (judging where the "hands" will land is easier said than done), I made it a point to back off Knight before any attacks got launched. Even then, you can still take damage, which can easily be fatal.
This was the most bs part of the trial for me, after all the hard work to get here. That along with wyvern's tail attacks that lack telegraph, and ofc the loooong road to get to wyvern each time.

They should've just cut right to the fight themselves, this also happened to me and the Wyvern build-up is just too long and it threw off my timing for the parries in the fight itself. Then again, the extra frustrations made it feel all the more earned, but still...

Exact same thing. I also had a good run and 200 rings, died to this, then it took 3 hours of trying to get this fight figured out before I beat it. It was the most annoying thing ever. Waaaay too hard this while trial was.
One of the best ways to beat the dlc is to use cyloop on the bosses when your done use it again to send them down when you use it on them your ability’s do way more damage and I mean-WAY MORE although second phases can’t be activated while he’s floating you have to wait for him to get down or use cyloop again to send him down👍👍👍
Didn’t even get crushed by the actual hand and just die to the spikes…….that’s a new one

Yeah, something similar happens with the Asura guardian. If you get slammed by their hand or get stomped on by their foot (after cylooping it) you get insta-killed.

atleast you died at the beggining of the last fight, i did this trial 1 hour ago and i managed to beat all of the bosses but at the quicktime event for knight i acsidentally clicked A and that instantly killed me
You know what, im happy with the old End fight. I fucking hate these challenges
New final boss kinda sucks too. It's just a combo to face, press bumper to dodge and break chain, get hit by balls, get perfect parry, then it's parry training simulator from loading screens except that's the boss fight, in phase 2 break chain off again and cyloop the gun, rinse and repeat.

Am i the only person who had fun with this update and thougjt the difficulty wasn't bullshit? Cause damn i breezed thru the dlc except the final boss since it was clear what to do but other then that i thought this shit was fun especially the adrenaline rush you get from doing these battles back to back

Same honestly. Skill issue. I only got stuck on trial 5 for an hour. Though tower 2 is just poor design. No defending that one.

That's only on hard difficulty, Easy & Normal doesn't fail you if you get hit as normal Sonic

Nah, it insta-kills on every difficulty. My first playthrough was on Normal and I had inadvertantly stood next to where Knight's hand landed and I instantly died.
Stuff like this makes me want to commit easy mode.

tbf, you can just keep distance and youll never get killed. I got hit from like cross map and still was able to recover before hitting the ground. I just jumped over everything

All I did was just spam jump and air boost to prevent damage, and if I got hit I just air dodged to prevent getting damaged.
