K9 Sport Sack released their bags around 5 years ago and instantly was on our radar because of the active lifestyle we lead and how we include our dog in a lot of our outdoor activities. We bought the K9 Sport Sack Plus model back on Black Friday 2018 after recently adding Angel to our family and use it every week to take her on Colorado trail adventures.
Living in Colorado and being active outdoors with your dog is how it goes out here, but with the size of our dog and the adventures we go on, we knew we wanted to find a way to carry her at some point while out on the trail. The K9 Sport Sack has allowed us to take our dog Angel out on all our adventures now and is a safe way to transport your dog in a backpack. It does have it's limits with a 40lb weight limit, but also personal limits per the user and this is a reminder to always be safe in the activities your doing while wearing a K9 Sport Sack with your dog.
Despite Angel's energy and determination to be fastest down the trail, she will get tired and loading her into the K9 Sport Sack is the best way to carry her when your 10 miles away from the trail head. We've also used the bag in the city when would attend the yearly outdoor industry trade show. Awesome video. It's quite useful for me. My cavalier is around 17in and looks in same size with Angel. I will go for a medium bag.

Just received our Pack 2 and I have to agree about the straps. My pup likes it but way to uncomfortable for me and I can’t even imagine on how uncomfortable it will be wearing a winter jacket, even if it’s possible.

My dog is also 17” long and I’m torn on whether or not I should get the small or medium. I know you used the block with the medium, but how did she fit in the small size?
The small is too small...once you get it on your back with them loaded in, you can feel the tightness and we didn't feel like it would be comfortable....its secure but didn't look comfortable to us...the medium with the block or towel installed is a better fit even though it is a little big, it's not tight.

We haven't had any concerns... Its more like they are standing on their feet than sitting on the end of their spine...she will not really move around and is very relaxed when in the bag

No we haven't....this bag suited us because we bike and hike a lot with the dog and the fabric is very durable.
Can you wear this in the front? Not for biking but just for carrying them around a bit.
Yes you can... It's not the most comfortable setup. Their face will probably be right in front of your face/chin area if you wear it that way and you'd need a second person to snap closed the sternum strap on your back.. but I bet they would like it for extra snuggles 🐶
Have you tried wearing the backpack higher so the sterner strap rides lower and more comfortable?
Yes I have but it's not possible to get it in a position where the sternum strap would be lower. We tighten the main straps up once she's on our back and it is very tight that when you're on the bike bent over it gets even tighter. The only fix would be if the company changed the whole sternum strap setup so it extended much farther down the backpack shoulder straps.
Would you think the small would be fine for my chihuahua or would it still be too big?
The small probably would be a good fix for a chihuahua..have fun

If your dog is not very tall I would go with a small, the new medium size has a lot more space now than the original med. If you go medium you'll definitely want to buy the additional riser blocks. Is there an stability for them to stand on…or it’s made for them to rest on the hind end and not stand…what about breathability? .. how long can the dogs travel this way because it looks uncomfortable for the animal…and no waist strap…
Can someone answer to how their legs do sitting on their weight? It just doesnt seem comfortable for them idk
It seems to be fine... It's like they are doing the sit pretty.. The pressure is on their legs but also the back of the pack supports them... My dogs loves it and just lays back when riding in the pack. Bigger dogs may have a problem, but small dogs seems to do just fine
