- Looking for a building to purchase and renovate; Dave and Sean take a tour one of one of the most unique historical storefronts currently listed for sale on the internet. Seriously contemplating if they should buy this building, and breath new life into this forgotten gem via what will surely be a full renovation. A quick ride out to this storefront in the shop truck (a 1966 Chevy C20), and the twins tour the building while Dave and Sean give you an in depth guided video tour/explanation of what shape the building is in, and what repairs would be needed if the Brothers Workshop end up purchasing this for the channel.
This episode has a little something for everyone. From a ride in the Chevy 1966 C20, a tour of the historic storefront, and even a little adventure; mix in a some building science, some imagination, and you've got yourself a great video.

@@TheBrothersWorkshop fingers crossed, all your plans what you want to do with it sounds GREAT. I hope that everything turns out the the way you want both have in mind
I’m also really excited to see the progress 😁
If there are high school students in the town you could put together a program for a grant for the students to help with the renovations and at the same time learn about rehabbing, painting, demolition, and construction.
Nice idea!
That sounds like a great idea! 🙂 We'll have to look into something like that.
This is the most entertaining commentary 😂
Thank you! We try. 😂
Awesome! Love the old millwork.
Thank you for watching Ann! Dave loved the original millwork, and wants to save it and re-use it in the renovation!
This is so cool!! I can't wait to see more. 😁
Yes!Yes! Go for it! What a great opportunity! And I would hang out with you guys..no prob
Thank you for watching Tamara! It has the potential to be such a fun and cool project!
@@TheBrothersWorkshop That's what I am anticipating! I know you guys will knock it out of the ball park..like you've already been told 😊 Good luck!

LunchBreakSkate, thanks for watching! We're so stoked to take on a project like this!
@@TheBrothersWorkshop I can’t wait to see what you guys end up with!
Looking forward to the next video! I'd hang out with you both...sounds like fun!
Thanks Donnie! 🙌
I knew exactly where you were when you called it "glass city"! It is such a sweet town and I live about 10 miles from there. Good luck if you decide to renovate it.
Thanks! We're glad your excited about this one too.
So glad I found this vid. My wife and I are in the process of doing something that’s like 80% the same as what you’ve done… only a short drive away near Youngstown. 🙌🏼
How's your building coming along? What are you putting in it?
@@TheBrothersWorkshop We're stil working on the financing and getting estimates from our contractor. The building is 17k sq ft., We're going to put an even space in the basement that opens up to to back of the building, A cafe will go in the storefront, along with a few short-term offices and a conference room to rent to remote workers, etc. My wife and I will operate a video production company on that floor as well. Then the second floor will be long-term commercial space and a couple Air BnBs. It's a lot, but the plan is slowly coming together!
Subscribed. I've always wanted to restore a building like that.
Thanks!! ☺️
I would like it ten times, if it would let me.
Lol me too!
We'll add those ten likes to the count. 😜
Guys, if I'm not too late, I will pay you the equivalent of scrap prices for the old school radiators! I want to build again and I want hot water heat with the old radiators! I have terrible sinuses and that is the best heat for them. Please help revitalize Jennette! I like that town. I live in Moundsville, WV now. I'm originally from Apollo, PA. I'd definitely come and hang out with you! Eddie
Hey there! Is this renovation underway? I don't see a follow-up video.
No unfortunately not this project. We were very excited about this building but as we go deeper into the prospect of purchasing it Dave’s business moved in a different direction. However, He’s still looking for it’ll building like this and we have a couple new videos that will detail that search as it continues.
Hey guy's. I just happen to find this video and it is a lot like what i am working on. So I have come for some inspiration! My wife and I bought a 1905 historic bank that also has 2 apartments above it. Everything is outdated, unfortunately, but it will be awesome once done. The old bank still has the old vault and doors. Would love to see where you all went with your project and maybe look for ideas to make mine better.
I'm interested in what it took to buy this building? I've worked in architecture for 20+years in New Orleans. Now I'm another state and interested in education for the visual arts via a Trust, in a state historic site of a couple of buildings on one lot. Having specialized in commercial interiors, including a condo hotel a HDLC property in NO French Quarter on the National Registry. I would keep the wood doors and moulding (add to them according to the ceiling height and period style). I have other things you can add, if you'd like to exchange info on the accusation process of the building. Happy restoration adaptive reuse!
Sounds like we are on the same page!
I would love to see what you guys do with the building.
Thanks work watching Mick! We're glad you enjoyed the video. Stay tuned we have a few more videos like this coming soon!
Are there any updates on this place? And which state is this. I purchased a storefront building and am still renovating in wyandotte michigan. I would love to share it with you, and also pick your brain regarding potential for income. You mentioned an air bnb. I thought about doing this but not quite sure how and worry about liability.
Ol' Jim stood in that closet, until he disappeared...😅
It's true! 😂 👻
@@TheBrothersWorkshop hahaha, you guys are cool 😎... Love rehab stories, I will subscribe soon, and see what you are up to! I understand you had a pass on a previous building, let's see if this one works out... BTW, I'm handy and retired with no plans, a real pain in the ass for getting it right... If you ever take on temporary help? Put out the word... Punch out/demo, plumbing and carpentry. Hahaha 😂... I'm more trouble than good 👍 nice show fellas 🫡
We'll definitely keep you in mind when we start our next project! 🙌
Check out that water leak - be careful with that. Could be very costly!
Don't worry Sherry! We'll definitely be doing a thorough investigation into the stability of the roof and walls!
Keep in mind, Federal law requires an asbestos inspection to be performed prior to renovation or demolition of commercial buildings (40 CFR 1 Subpart M).
40 CFR 61 Subpart M
I think this is out in liberty Missouri isn't it? The mansion seems very familiar as well as the coffee shop.
Hey Joseph! It's definitely not in the mid west, but it's funny how a lot of older building around the country are so similar.
@@TheBrothersWorkshop yeah, cause that red mansion is EXACTLY like the one I use to walk by every day by in Missouri when I had my old chef job, so when I saw it, I was like 🤔 because it was also being renovated at the time too haha
Do it!!
Thanks for watching Cat Daddy! Stay tuned to see what we end up doing with it!
❤️❤️😊🙏
i remember for the longest time i had always wanted to fix up this old house i used to live near and then an old mom and pop shop down the road that went out of business in the 80s, but then when I got into the paranormal, I found out that renovations can disturb spirits and cause a variety of things to happen from Hauntings all the way up to demonic attachments. even if it's not true I'm not exactly willing to test it and find out, since Ya' know, having a demon follow me everywhere I go and constantly trying to kill me is not really something I think I'd like to live with, so yeah. . . one out of many of my dreams down the shitter.
Hot water heating systems work really well and don't much to operate.
Thanks for the heads up!
great opportunity.. I am trying to renovate an 1860's building and was wondering how I could go about finding grants.
Hey! We're in the same boat and currently researching how. Once we figure everything out we'll do a video about it. 😄
OK. The return on investment may be negative. Stay safe. Thank you.
Where was this?
What happened to the mansion that was a hospital/clinic, didn’t see any video except the initial walk through
Happy Thanksgiving
They passed on it. Too much work and money.
Whatever happened to the mansion fixer upper
We explain it in the video. Watch it again, you'll see!
@@TheBrothersWorkshop i watched it months ago
I just thought you said you were going to work on it over time
@@sshumkaer no, that's not what we said at all.
Did you end up buying this? I don't see any updates.
You can “Preserve”& insulate w/out totally ripping to the studs.
What was in the closet, couldn’t see
Take a closer look.... 👻
I lost track of the number of likes I'm stacking on this video :D I really couldn't tell from the language in the video, do you guys own this now?? Ah there was my answer.
I'm thinking of getting you guys some nice compact pen lights for Christmas, this phone business is driving me insane.
Haha no, we don't own it... yet. Still looking into a few properties and seeing what people on UA-cam want us to work on.
Your bleeding heart - name of song
Nope! It's called Haunted House by Teenage Bottle Rocket. 🤓🤘
Where is the place located? You guys didn’t mention the location of the mansion either.
🤐🤐
What was creepy in the closet i couldnt see it😂
Wait oh my gosh are those footprints?!
Ty, you got it right! Sean didn't notice them until he was editing the video! 😳
