I am now 62, have been a Master Technician for most of those years, I can confirm that Mr. Riemann is spot on and gives only great advise for riders benefit. Experience, technical know how, and the years of proven success is the ticket. Thank you for making the videos. I plan on riding well into my 80's and always do my own maintenance and repairs. Well done Adam.
In a world full of squeaky, vloggers constantly needing to be rescued, this channel is a breath of fresh air. The most practical, useful, no-BS ADV channel on the tubes. Great stuff.
1:45 Who I’m I …? Jesus mate…you are a bloody legend, that is who you are. Never sell yourself short like that again👍. From my experience engineers often lack practical real life experience.
I always see your titles and think - I’ve worked on bikes and ridden for decades I already know this stuff. And then I watch your videos and learn something new every time. No nonsense, just impressive and practical skills teaching your audience and still entertaining. What a great source of information and an underrated channel!
I am a Yamaha tech since 1992 and yes you are absolutely right about the oil change and the oil filter that can go on dry. There is absolutely no harm in that. Cheers
I ran my bike hot then dropped the oil today and neally fell over when I saw how much metal fragments came out. Best tip I've got about servicing. Cheers Adam always take advice from ppl who accualy walk the path.
Oil is dense, so get it flowing fast enough and it'll literally scrape metal fragments of the bottom of your motor and suspend them. Which is exactly what it does when your riding it hard.
I rode around the world (including Australia) with my dark horse - XT660Z called Calamity, and yet learned something new today: never thought of aligning the levers like you showed here! More tinkering to come this weekend ! Don’t pressure yourself too much with the keyboard warriors /sofa riders, do your thing ! I discovered your channel a few years ago, you were one of my inspirations to do that trip, although I didn’t fly over sand dunes like you do! 😂✌🏻
Thanks for the series of excellent videos. I'll double down on your comments concerning knowing your bike intimately. To do that you must do the vast majority of maintenance yourself, at 1st in your garage with plenty of time & the ability to '"walk away" when things aren't going smoothly. Its amazing how often a task goes easily after returning when you've cleared your head. Its been a lifesaver on the trail when a problem arises & you can clearly think through the system involved & what can be wrong. You'll only have this ability if you work on your bike. I've seen so many riders who just dont want to take the time to learn these skills. With no real training, I've changed suspension fluid, replaced wheel bearings, oil/gear oil changes, lubed swingarms, changed countershaft sprockets, cracked a 2 stroke engine case to replace a seal, replaced clutch plates, replaced piston.......One key is spending wisely to get proper tools, dont try to fix everything with a hammer & screwdriver. You can even conjure up decent homemade tools rather than buying expensive ones that may only be used once. Its so easy now with you tube videos, no excuse.
@@MotologyFilms perhaps kiwi's & to a lesser extent Aussies.. are just pragmatic & hands on realistic in how things work.. great vid's thanks.. do a wee demo with oil & pour a change into a clear fiz bottle & see what settles on the bottom.. shine a torch through it & see what you see.. yeah I've ALWAYS promoted only hot changes.. Great video Adam you cannot beat having experience under your belt beit racing , working on bikes, adventure survival experiences where you only have yourself to sort the problem or situation out. There is always someone who could have done it better on a keyboard and that’s it. They don’t go onto to show themselves in a video actually doing it in fact they don’t even upload any video social media of any use to anyone. Loving the adventure stuff as it’s the direction I’m going in. Keep it up bud 👍🏻
I really liked how you adjusted the levers. I don't remember ever seeing anyone explain the adjustment like that. Really great video and great information.

Absolutely spot on, great views on oil change. Never heard of thrashing the bike before an oil change, wonderful eye-opener. So very logical without any BS.
Good tips with the brake and clutch lever. I had trouble to engage the clutch with one finger because of not enough leverage. Now I know what I have to do tomorrow.
Been riding dedicated street bikes and cruisers and dedicated dirt bikes for 15+ years. New to adv bikes. Bought a t7 this week. After watching your vids it solidified my choice on bike. I will never claim to be the smartest guy in the room. Always looking for more wisdom and new ideas. Thats why ive subscribed. For a no bs kinda honesty. Less techy and more, get it done proper and back on its wheels. If you dont have a vid out yet, id like to see an excise to get more intune with slow speed technical riding of a 400+lb dirt bike. Your videos are so good, proper honest no bullshit information. You inspired me so much I went and bought a brand new T7 last week. Already got 1000kms on it and loving it. Cheers Adam, keep on keeping on👍
I don't know why it's taken so long to discover you. Truly amazing amount of knowledge, experience and skill. As an x south West Aussie your south coastal videos make me home sick. Keep up the great work.
You are awesome! Little comment on the chain tension. If you get a new tenere (in my case a WR) check your tension. Mine was waaaaaaaay to tight off the factory. Weird buzzing sound when loaded up!!!
I'm late to comment, but just saw this about the oil filter. My fourby diesel has two filters and I change them dry too. Like you I believe the oil film protection for a couple of seconds on start-up isn't an issue. Half-a-mill miles on the clock and still going. One thing I didn't think about though, was the air expelled through a dry filter is better/quicker. My big thing with oil, is changing it and the filter often. So I do 5k rather than 10k changes. I was told by a mechanic who does this, that the company he worked at, always got more than 500k klms out of all their Landcruisers in Africa that towed big refuelling tanks through the bush for their earthmoving machines.
I would just like to reinforce what so many others have stated, that your practical/from experience approach to proper set up and basic maintenance is so much appreciated! Having just returned from a working stint in the 'bush' and ready to kick off our Alaskan riding season on my T7.... these tips are gold! Cheers, and keep up the good work!

Cheers Adam. I am a Sales Office Johnny with no mechanical skill but since getting in to offroad riding in the last 5 years, I have learnt how to change tyres, clutch packs, brake pads and fluids, service forks and change springs, valve clearance checks and numerous accessory installations. Apart from loving the experience, you are right on it, it has taught me about my machines and how to deal with trouble when out on adventure rides and trips. Videos like yours and others on set up make a significant difference to the riding experience and safety/reliability of a ride. Thank you so much. Also, I appreciate the no BS approach to practical maintenance based on a riders experience. Always more valuable than armchair experts. 👍💪
Your approach is appreciated and the simplified reasons and tips on the subject, and why, are lessons in themselves, it improves us the viewer and that is becoming rare. Knowledge passed on is key, not this influencing BS for Views. No clickbait titles, no 'don't buy this because...'
It's getting increasingly difficult to appease the internet. I can't be one of those people. I've decided that I'm going to just tell it like it is. Thankfully, there is still an audience out there for me.
Adam, you never cease to impress me with your clever humor and immense experience which you share so well. Your front suspension tip of loosening to bolts just fixed all my low speed wobble problems that have plagued me. Can't wait to see if the ones at 80mph are gone as well. Thank you so much!
A personal choice for excellence encompasses an individuals entire existence, so it's no surprise all things are squared away in Mr Riemann's life. One look at his video output proves that. As your chain progresses through its lifetime, its probably worth finding any tight spots before setting the tension in the in-line(geometrically tightest) suspension position. Congratulations on completing that tyre change while talking at the same time, I certainly wouldn't want to do that.
Another great video! You claim you are no mechanic or engineer and yet you bless us with the most useful mechanic tips ever found on UA-cam for adventure bikes. Keep up the awesome work!
It's funny, I've just shot a video yesterday about how to prepare for a tour and how to film it, referring to your channel to get good info. Love your videos!

I just got my first adv. I'm learning everything on my own and at times it feels overwhelming. I appreciate your videos. Feels like maybe I can figure all this out. Thank you. Hope to see more content.
Hey Adam, this video series is super helpful. You take the mystery out of it. I got into the adventure riding game about 2 years ago after having not ridden a bike in 35 years. I bought a KTM 890 R which has been an amazing bike - capable enough for an expert but forgiving enough for a beginner. I was intimidated by it at first, but have gradually done more and more. I just had the fork seals done, and pulled the fork tubes off myself. I can’t agree more that a rider really needs to understand his or her bike to get the most out of it. Looking forward to using your chain adjustment technique. Cheers!
Having worked as a car mechanic, hot oil drains faster and more efficiently and the oil filter was always screwed up dry! You'll make a mess otherwise, you'll spill expensive oil and the engine takes exactly 2-3 seconds to bring all the air out of the oil pump and tops 5 seconds to bring the oil all the way up the valves even at a cold start. Also the oil pump never sits filled with oil since when you stop the engine the oil goes back down the oil sump. As for the bike tips I'm gonna try the lever trick for sure!
I am not an off road rider but I like this approach and thought of how to handle your bike. Many of your tips are practical and very logical. I learn from them and apply them. Thank you.
Another video full of invaluable knowledge, I always learn something new in each video, and your no-BS attitude and the way you explain things is just the icing on the cake! Thanks for keeping the series going, and I hope it continues for a long time, cheers Adam you're a legend
Thanks mate. The most difficult part of trying to deliver this info is working out how to get YT to show it to you. The unfortunate reality of todays "scrolling" generation.
100% agreed, the infamous, capricious and increasingly politically correct YT algorithm is tricky to please and quick to demonetize or give strikes etc, and it seems to me that they (YT) are making it harder and harder to please the algorithm enough so it shows new content for some reason. Thankfully I think you're doing a great job figuring the way it works too as I get notifications on most of the new videos lately, but to be safe I pretend it's 2010 and I check the channel manually to see if I've missed any new videos lol 😂 Cheers from Greece brother and I hope you're having a great day, keep up the awesome work 🍻🍻🍻
Adam Thanx for constantly providing most practical knowledge. Your straight forward and on point technical know how is great for the ADV community. I feel proud to call you my Teacher. 😊❤. Stay safe.
Your advices are really good as your vision of mechanics. Good to see something else than products test. With all the luggage, light, and protection test many forget to really ride their bike. The bike value go up on the market but the value for them go down. Just ride the bike as you do.
You sir are a genuine pleasure to listen to, and your content is so very grounded. I just landed on one of your videos and ended up going through a few one after the other to soak up a bit of my morning after hangover. Your channel is the outright best of any Informative motorcycle content on youtube i have seen to date, and i don't even ride enduro. Would love to be having a go at all that but just cant afford it right now and dont want to get rid of my road rockets. But.. if one dies i think the next bike i buy will be off road capable and set up along the same mindset as you convey. Keep it up!
my top tip for filling an oil filter before putting it on is to put it in the box upside down so it stands up, then fill it let it soak in then put it on. filter is then nearly full and you dont get the spillage.
Always a treat to see a new video pop up! Especially as I ready for my first moto camping experience on the new Norden Expedition. Thank ya sir! 🙏🏽 🏍️💨
Another quality video! Keep doing what your doing. They are very informative from an experienced rider. There will always be haters. Just ignore them 👌👍
I always smash new wheel bearings in before a big trip. Wheels are off for tyres and chain so may as well. Spare plugs, rectifier, fuel pump relay. Even a cheap spare spare fuel pump. Small bottle of gear oil to lube your chain. Spare oil filter for the road. Buy oil anywhere. Tyre pumcture repair kit. Pretty much my spares bag.
used too to put red rubber grease for tubes. same, big rim dents, zero pinch. found too that two small opposite rim locks work well, I guess the pinch is avoided by totally locking tire rotating move a bit temporarly during hit which can drives the tube and pinch ... ratchet for chain tension and other tricks : Happy to see that you show them :wonder why guys don't kno more about them. keep the good job : no
Those videos are sooo god. You really explain it so easy and understandable. Many thanks, i like what you do, and appreciate you put the effort and time in doing it.
Great video as always, I've been a road rider for more than 15yrs. As a new off road rider it's great to watch videos like this, can learn so much. A short video on how to adjust the front fork would be great. 🙏🐊

It's getting increasingly difficult to appease the internet. I can't be one of those people. I've decided that I'm going to just tell it like it is. Thankfully, there is still an audience out there for me.
The chain tension hack is the best i have ever seen. I also liked the silicone on the tube. I will never use talc again!
Thanks for making real, down to earth, useful content without the hype, always look forward to the next one. Cheers.
Thank you, man. I'm always learning. To have a teacher like you is great. Big regards from Germany
My wife and I Thank You Adam!Awesome rider, useful information, entertaining and well edited videos/films. Ride on!
This series is very helpfull, mate! I'm a member from now on. Thanks again for the great content and the "do not take it so seriously" attitude. Cheers!
Damn dude I don't even have a bike at the moment and was never one of you enduro boys but I cannot stop watching your videos on repeat. The advice and the vibe is fantastic, I never would have given up riding if I had known your channel before.
Adam not long found your channel it’s is so no nonsense, down to earth and practical.
First time subscriber on any channel and now a member - I have a lot of catching up to do you just make everything look so easy and simple keep up.
Thanks for sharing your life long experiences.
Dave
Right same here !
Thanks Dave, I appreciate your support as a member. Welcome aboard
Man damn good tip on lever position. I went right out and looked where mine were! Got me thinking mate. Thanks
I'm so glad i found your channel, I"ll get my tenere in two days and i've learnt tons of things watching your videos.
Thank you for the excellent work and greetings from France.
Hands on, practical things. I'm learning a lot here.
I just got my first adv. I'm learning everything on my own and at times it feels overwhelming. I appreciate your videos. Feels like maybe I can figure all this out. Thank you. Hope to see more content.
You have no idea how helpful these videos have been man. Cheers buddy keep ‘em coming please.
Thank you.
Thank you again and again, your videos are A’s all the time…cheers mate 💐🙏
Thankfully I think you're doing a great job figuring the way it works too as I get notifications on most of the new videos lately, but to be safe I pretend it's 2010 and I check the channel manually to see if I've missed any new videos lol 😂 Cheers from Greece brother and I hope you're having a great day, keep up the awesome work 🍻🍻🍻
Even today I didn't live in the dark and I learned something. Thank you very much, Maestro.
Adam Thanx for constantly providing most practical knowledge. Your straight forward and on point technical know how is great for the ADV community. I feel proud to call you my Teacher. 😊❤. Stay safe.
I put baby power in my tires to help with mounting and friction - now I want to try the silicon spray!
I will always defer to verifiable experience over techno warriors. Thanks for another great share of knowledge and experience. ✌️
Keep it up!
thank you a lot , this video help me so much for the chain slack,, big thank for the technique, with the 3 axle point,, so clever
my top tip for filling an oil filter before putting it on is to put it in the box upside down so it stands up, then fill it let it soak in then put it on. filter is then nearly full and you dont get the spillage.
Always a treat to see a new video pop up!
Especially as I ready for my first moto camping experience on the new Norden Expedition.
Thank ya sir! 🙏🏽
🏍️💨
Another quality video! Keep doing what your doing. They are very informative from an experienced rider. There will always be haters. Just ignore them 👌👍
Ive just used youre strap method because I was doubting the tension of the chain. Thanks for the tip. Greetz Jeff
Loving this he tips. The silicone spray is a new must when changing my tyres! 👍
Pretty much my spares bag.
i run mousse but that silicone spray trick is wow - i shall pass that along to my tube running buds
Brilliant, no BS, no wank content. Love the really practical stuff you highlight in the videos, learning heaps. Many thanks, keep up the good work!
Your lever position advice is gold. Very good content!
I’m so glad I found this channel
Better late than never hey.
used too to put red rubber grease for tubes. same, big rim dents, zero pinch. found too that two small opposite rim locks work well, I guess the pinch is avoided by totally locking tire rotating move a bit temporarly during hit which can drives the tube and pinch ... ratchet for chain tension and other tricks : Happy to see that you show them :wonder why guys don't kno more about them. keep the good job : no
About to do a Botswana trip, this vid comes as if called for. Thanks💪💪
I was a trained motorcycle mechanic ,your on to it
Those videos are sooo god. You really explain it so easy and understandable. Many thanks, i like what you do, and appreciate you put the effort and time in doing it.
The SC-1 spray on the tube seems pretty clever.
I love your videos, the relaxed attitude, common sense and break downs.
Thanks a million
Continue the great work
I really like the silicone spray lesson.
I'm going to have to try the silicone spray trick sometime. It makes a lot of sense to me: if it can't grab it, it can't pinch it easily either.
alright, picking a t7 back up its easy! but seing you getting it up on tha rock? holy mother i feel weak now
Great video as always, I've been a road rider for more than 15yrs. As a new off road rider it's great to watch videos like this, can learn so much.
A short video on how to adjust the front fork would be great. 🙏🐊
This guy is 100% spot on do i have experience id say so ive done over 1 million miles on bikes
Great video. Just getting into riding my gasgas350 in the desert/dunes in Saudi and this content is mega. Nice one!
i do mine with out removing callipers its fast to pry the brake pads open i bit with tire lever. throw wheel straight on
