I love how her voice as an instrument has developed and progressed over the years, incrementally, with each record she's made. She started out with a bright, powerful register, and over the years, while still retaining much of that bright, warm sonic coloring, her vocals have both deepened (gotten huskier and darker) and somehow gone more stratospheric. The widening of her vocal palette really IS a joy to behold. Now she doesn't seem to be stuck in her (admittedly) amazing soprano anymore; she's free to add mezzo, alto and contralto shadings to her voice; all this makes her a progressive pop/R&B queen.
you’ve missed the most important notes on this immaculate masterpiece; the E3’s harmonized in “I Don’t Think About You” and the F3’s harmonized in “Meaning Of Life”; bringing her vocal span to E3 - B♭5 - E♭6 (C♯7).
Nice video! She sounds like she's still in her prime and it's amazing! I'm so fucking glad that she explored that head voice! I can't hear any of the whistle notes though.
"The Meaning of Life" and "Move You" refer to her children, who are the best of her life. "Medicine" "I don't think about you" and "Go High" refer to the abuses of her old record company and the non-support and deception of her former manager. "Whole Lotta Woman" refers to the level of self-esteem that she has and about the criticism of her weight from social networks and television communities. The other songs refer to the relationship she had with her most recent ex-husband. They recently broke up in 2023.
Love Kelly to death. Imo Christina, Kelly, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga and P!nk are by far the best singers in mainstream music rn (Beyonce too..but not rly my type of voice and also Nicole Scherzinger!!!). Legends. p.s can someone please tell me why there are three notes in the title? Low and high register or... and what is the middle one? I am so confused.
I don't know know if you already figured it out or if someone already told you, but the three notes represent three parts of her voice. Like you said, F#3 represents the lowest note in the album and C#7 represents the highest note in the album (regardless of using head voice / falsetto / whistle register). The middle Bb5 represents the highest belted note. Hope this helps! :)
jaydel3 3 octaves and 7 semitones!!! only 5 semitones away from 4 octaves in terms of vocal range showcased on Meaning Of Life album; but she has showcased more than 4 octaves throughout her career from C3-C6-C#7!!!
Her best album by far. Kelly's voice is still one of the best and shines in her upper register.
The use of her head voice in this album is explosive and I am entirely welcoming of it.
Okay I didn’t expect to actually hear the C#7 but it’s there! Yass
vocal vids wheres is the C#7? I can't hear it
There's a whistle note but it's not a C#7 on second listen. It goes F6 - G6 - G#6 - G6 - Eb6. Recommend using earphones.
vocal vids i still can't hear it :(
Yea where I xamt hear it..can someone point it out?
Medicine's F#5 always blow my wig

Just AMAZING Vocals!!
This is her best album honestly. It beats all her other albums. It's funny because I really hated "Piece by piece".
TayTay BeyNippy Same!!
I didn't hate Piece By Piece but as an album, it was definitely one of my least faves.
I'm not a fan of electronica at all and Piece By Piece had allot of electronica elements in it. Which turned me off.
TayTay BeyNippy TRUE BESIDES THANKFUL
For me, Piece by Piece is in my top 5 albums. It would on no.4.

Alexmax9295 I can hear the whistles clear as dsy. Kelly will be back to 2013 level live very soon
Same can’t really hear them either. Only up to her head Voice at Eb6
Yay new video :-)
I LOVE THIS ALBUM! I think it is one of her best if not her best.
My fav's:
Chest voice: E5 and F5
Head voice: A5 and D6
Heads voice of Kelly in this album is awesome

How many octaves does she display?( for those of us who don't know music theory.)
