Gotta say - NY death metal has been at the forefront since the 90s - (cannibal, deicide, suffocation, immolation, etc) and they still are today with bands like Imperial, Contrarian, Pyrexia, Malignancy,) if you think about it even Death was from NY because of Chuck - also Lethargy who became Mastodon. Everything Atlanta and Florida was actually NY
@@rachelashley4852 By that thinking you could make a case, a weak case, that any number of bands are from some other location instead of it being an organic amalgamation of various locations. So and so was born in Portugal, moved to Chicago when a child, and had albums recorded in Sweden, but the band played in Seattle before moving to Florida where they were part of a scene. Go and make the case that Everything Atlanta and Florida and NY was actually all just "American". I get your point though.
@@codyhansonbass it has nothing to do with being smart, when you listen to a lot of extreme metal your ears get used to it, that's all. There is such thing as trained ear. I listen to weird metal almost every day.
This is absolute musical perfection. The blend of genres creating this downwardspiral into madness draws me in everytime. I can't even describe how much I love this album and am so thankful for this piece of art. ❤️
I think it’s interesting having death metal jazz but for the life of me I can’t get into it haha. Glad that they’re experimenting with genres and doing something different however.
At first glance, black metal and jazz shouldn't work. But then think back to the music John Coltrane was making in his avant garde period - the Impulse! recordings like Meditations, Kulu Se Mama and Interstellar Space - and they are not a million miles from here. I've never been a huge black metal fan, but some of the recent bands that are twisting the medium like Imperial Triumphant are enchanting in the strangest way.
I'm trying to love that band.. I'm really trying... they look incredible, the atmosphere si great. I see that they have great music knowledge but I can't listen and enjoy it.. can someone explain me how to listen ? Is this something I miss ?
it’s okay not to like them!!! honestly they can be an acquired taste too :) i mean i used to hate dissonant black metal and couldn’t stand it in high school, but somehow it clicked years and years later, and i’m not sure why. just enjoy what you want to enjoy!
@@NathanKwon818 1 year later, its funny cuz, recently I listen to it again and I loved it, maybe it wasn't my time... And because I like to support band, I bought the vinyl record. I showed it to my wife, I knew she will hate it but I wanted to see her reaction and waow... She loved the artwork and the picture of the band in front of the bulding with all the mask etc... when I show her the begging of rotted future and the "screaming part" of atomic age and she was legit scared... like big eyes and felt realy unconfortable she even asked me to cut the record HAHA... THIS is why I now like the band, I feel it more like an horror/psychi movie OST... It's not the kind of music I"ll enjoy dayly but god thats disturbing...
The bass work on this song specifically is idiotically good! Digging the Taxi Driver vibes too.
This band's aesthetic is truly awesome, and black metal and jazz go together so well.
More like _"Death Metal"_ but yeah, totally great mix 🤘
Me, while driving: Do you like black metal?
GF: No
Me: Do you like avant garde jazz?
GF: NO
Me: Well, have I got the band for you!

If there’s a metal band that sounds like NYC, this is it.
Type O Negative's first two and fourth hit the spot.

This album on another level.
@Ilya Melekhin And what isn´t on shit level in your opinion?
@Ilya Melekhin hahahahaha
The state of modern metal is so interesting and great.
This is a real good commentary
Music and images are not only related, they're the same thing. Pure art.
Can we just appreciate the fact that all of their videos are pieces of art by themselves
Without a doubt an unique sound and approach. Then add the sleazy 1970's New York City visuals and you have an overall abstract experience. WOW!!!!
Okay, I need a Xenomorph walking stick when I'm older.
secret is it was made by Giger himself
@@ImperialTriumphant opportunity missed, then. R.I.P. to a true pioneer. He shan't be forgotten.
I need one right now
They're all such amazing musicians, but the bass player just fucking blows me away. What a band.
Taxi Driver 2 is looking great
Taxi Driver.

That vomit scene reminded me of the movie-Taxi Driver filmed in 1970s NY.Really like the band and Alphaville release.

This is what I first expected Square Hammer from Ghost would sound like.
Awesome song
The bass lines remind me of the great Japanese band DOOM and their now passed amazing bassist Koh Morota!
Are we at a train station? Is that Bill Murray? I have so many questions.
But FUCK this song RIPS!
The Liberty Mutual dude has really fallen on hard times ...
Pure MADNESS
This is what the Phoenix of death metal rising from the ashes looks like after years of a presumed death. Death metal is always and never dead.
