I've honestly been a big fan of this band for a while, but they are 100% not for everyone, and, even for a lot of people that do enjoy it, more of an acquired taste. It's incredibly chaotic and dissonant, but it's all done purposefully. I've seen them live a few times, and despite how noisy and all over the place it is, they are an incredibly tight 3 piece that sound very close to the studio recordings.
I guess if someone really wanted to push themselves to like it, it'd be better to start with earlier Avant Death Metal bands (e.g. Gorguts), but I would never fault someone for hating the music 😂

IMO Heavy Metal/Hard Rock is a great 'pressure gauge' release fir anger, frustration, annoyance of arseholes,etc... It definitely relaxes me when I'm too tightly strung and need to unwind. Screaming and Headbanging are very underrated, but each to their own.

Yeah, that was challenging. Like a mix of the avant garde of someone like Celtic Frost, the industrial harmonies of Voivod, the black metal vocals of someone who’s definitely been jailed for church burning and the pace of a drone metal band.
Not a singalong track, nor background music. Weirdly shoegazy. Not my cup of stewed sludge.
I seriously hope Voivod and Celtic Frost are on your list. Not a joke, but I hesitate to suggest a good starting point for either of them.

    Hahahahaha!
Yeah, you know what, my dear Mel, this piece of music is on one of my playlists!
This playlist is named "Music that makes you wanna kill yourself."
    Yeah, I feel you.
That was a tough one to endure. I definitely get what they try. It just does not work for me at all. Like: Never will. Maybe if I want to bring myself into depression. Never happens. And I consider myself that type of "open for all" guy, freejazz, Messiaen and everything, twisted arts of psychotic minds, no problem...
That feeling that you have, if you imagine how they produced it. "Yeah - we are onto something, this is f'ing great!" While sitting in the studio. And nobody is there to tell you it's not.
And then, the next day, nobody tells you that you should better dump it. Because, no, simply no. The right people are on vacation. You know, the friends, that tell you when you are wrong, the good ones. And it goes out. No way back.
And then you have to tell everyone, that they just did not get the deeper meaning and did not listen hard enough. All intended. Avant-garde, you know.
Well, I listened hard. Too hard for me. HAHAHAA.
I know they have quite a lot of fans. I am not one of them, I guess.
I listen to everything from Einstürzende Neubauten on repeat for a week before having a second or third listen to this, probably. And enjoy it. With passion.
But to be fair, they have music in their portfolio that I like MUCH more. But that's not really hard. Hehehe. (Because I still don't like it at all.)
Hilariously funny reaction, my Scottish Lady!
You tried so hard to find something likeable, intellectualized it and tried not to laugh at times, beautiful to watch. So entertaining. Loving it. BIG SMILE.
Believe me, it is not your lack of intelligence. At least, if this is not made for less than 0.01% of the world population.
Such a funny reaction. You tried sooo hard to not hurt anybodys feelings, hahahaha.
If I hadn't subscribed long ago, I would have subscribed after seeing this, for sure.
All the best and have a fantastic week, and seeya in the cozy discord, my dear soulmate.
Cheers, you earned yourself a cold one!

I hate it, and I love it. Mad respect to Sean for suggesting this utterly inaudible piece of musical genius-crap. I wish I'd have the balls. I am genuinely more musically engaged and bewondered than I've been by any music I didn't know yet on a react-video than I've ever been. I've listened to tons of bands that try to ride the line between the truly horrible and inexplicable genius many times before, and it's really just horrible pretty much always. It's never really genius, at least, I've never encountered it. But occasionally, and this is one of those instances, you do ponder if might be. And that alone is enough for me to appreciate it 100%. Is it going on my playlist? No fucking way. Do I feel richer for having experienced it? Absofuckinglutely.

Imperial Triumphant are challenging for sure. This is what happens when you let jazz virtuosos make metal. Oddly enough, this is downright melodic compared to some stuff out there (Peter Brotzmann [German Tenor Saxophone/Free Jazz Artist] and The Flying Luttenbachers come to mind). I came across them, months ago, while searching for Atonal Death Metal while having some drinks. I don't mind it and can enjoy it for a bit. There are other bands, like Pyrrhon, that'll grind the fuck outta you with their Atonality.
Concerning Avant Guard music, I, once, attended my ex's friend's 'musical group' (mostly stringed instruments [she played Cello]) and their thing was how long they could hold a note. So, in the the one, fifteen minute 'piece,' they played twelve notes! I just about went nuts!
I like that you don't like it; it's refreshing.
That said, I hate to see you come away empty handed. So, I've included something that I think will make you laugh your face off! Merle Hazard (yes, Hazard), heads a genre known as Economic Bluegrass; however, in the attached video, he sings about Atonal Music. It's a gem!

I dig this band, I will admit though they are more of a live band experience, there show was very entertaining.

I say no, no, no, no and no. My initial thoughts is WHY do people ev suggest this crap. How can any label even think about releasing such shite....
I watch these crap only to see You Melisa, and hope that You eventually get back to real music and some Melodic metal.

As much it divides opinion, calling it 'real music' or not is not up to you. it is real music, whether you like it or not.

Why is this the worst song? Why should something containing so much discord and dissonance be the worst?
The worst crap is something generated by IA (and previously by a man at a keyboard) and called music, i.e. most of what you hear on the radio and TV and at various Grammy-shit shows. 😘😘
btw. I personally don't like it, but I know that no computer created this, its circuits would burn out 🤣🤣🤣

I think Radio is pretty obsolete for most tbh, and it’s not dissonance that’s the issue. I love dissonance. I think articulation is the issue. If youre are gonna be dissonant or a tricky listen in anyway I feel your singers articulation needs to be clear as a bell otherwise the message is lost

    Hi Mel 😊
I remembered once you said you liked dissonance. 🫡
In seriousness, while usually they're a little less 'plodding', they do strike me as a band that put the concept above standard songwriting. You end up with bizarre, colourful jazz chords and harmony in a super distorted sound and its a challenge to listen.
I always check them out when they release a new track, but its never a band i put on if i just wanna casually listen to music. 😂
Maybe this one was a bit too slow and long for a first listen. You can see you desperately trying to wait long enough to pause it the first time for some sweet relief 🤭
Funnily enough they have a song called City Swine 🤣
The basic concept of the band is this: they basically want to encapsulate New York City as a whole, good and the bad, into sound. They focus in on different aspects in different songs etc but thats the main idea. 🤷🏻
    Ps mission accomplished 😎
PPS sounds good! Happy to listen to Tom Waits and listen to you talk about Tom Waits 💙
