Yo it’s the Overdrive dev himself. Thank you so much for showcasing my creation, it’s a old demo build but I didn’t want it to go to waste. The engine was just rebuilt from the ground up with a fresh new coat of paint so you’ll have to wait a bit longer for the full chapter 1 experience!
I honestly frigging LOVE the voice they're using for Sonic here. He sounds like an actual teenager! As a lifelong fan of the franchise, I remember when Classic Sonic ACTUALLY HAD A VOICE. I grew up with Jaleel White's Sonic and the nasally, semi-British OVA voice, so to hear Sonic voiced by a youngster again is weirdly satisfying. Although the deeper, more "surfer-dude"-esque Modern Sonic voice matches the current version of the character pretty well, SEGA seems to have forgotten that it's possible to have a more nuanced take on Classic Sonic's personality than "like Modern Sonic except he never talks." To me, Classic Sonic should be a snarky bad boy while Modern is more centered and heroic. The OVA started with Sonic refusing to help Tails because he didn't feel like being bothered, while Modern is so aggressively nice he wouldn't even have to be asked in the first place. I dunno, just my 2 cents. Anyway, this game looks amazing.
Roblox released Sonic Expedition, then Dreams answers with Sonic Overdrive. Both epic in their own ways. I really enjoy the trick system, wall running, and mach speed in this. They did a fantastic job!
Overdrive has been in dev for a while. We are eating good this year. Sonic Expedition is released, Sonic Overdrive gets an update and Fallen Star’s sequel gets announced!

Man I really like that Sonic model. Generation Classic Sonic is good but this one is COOL and AMAZING. It has an edge and adventorous style and it looks much more to a "Sonic but when he was younger". CD Sonic will always be my favorite Classic Sonic design and seeing this makes me more happy
The first stage is a Sonic OVA South Island remix, the jumping sound fx are also from the OVA, the running animations, the stage design 😭😭😭😭 I'm in tears what a beautiful game what beautiful passion 😭😭😭😭

I much prefer a sassier Tails to the toddler-sound he is so often depicted with in older games. Given that Tails is generally Sonic's kid brother, I just find it much more fitting and less generic (and perhaps being someone with a younger brother, influences my opinion on it somewhat). And Sonic sounds even more perfect. Good job!
I played this myself and...wow..just wow. From the first overdrive to this, massive upgrade. This has to be one of the best sonic projects on Dreams ps4/ps5. This was a lot of fun to play

This is just beautiful. The after images are a GENIUS touch...it really gives the feeling that he's going fast!! Which is the only thing a sonic game needs idky sonic team can't get a grasp on that
This game looks stunning (especially Leaf Prelude's OST giving me "Up and Down and All Around" vibes)! Props to the devs and the VAs who made such a cool looking game possible!
Solid 9/10. I love dynamic flair and visuals as much as anyone, but there's something to be said for the peaks and valleys in an experience. Some subtlety would make the highlights pop more than just constant everything over-the top.
In my honest, most HUMBLE opinion: if the mad man that made this game makes more levels of various themes and level-designs AND keeps up this mid-game normal conversation dialogue. This will be THE BEST SONIC GAME EVER.
Yo! This fangame is awesome! Leaf Paradise and its theme is already my favorite in the game now! Love that it’s a Japanese themed zone with Japanese arches, cherry blossom trees, waterfalls, mountains that remind me of Mount Fuji, trees grasses and everything else that’s based off of in Japan, including the culture too! Last time I’m going to say this, but my fangame will focus on a lot of those kind of levels from two of the 15 zones in it, as well as having Japanese koto and Japanese music with a whole lot of Japanese string instruments in the themes for a lot of those levels, in those 2 zones!
Dynamic soundtrack. Do the actual sonic games do that? I know they do that muffled effect when he boosts but I don't remember the song changing the way it does in this game.
I like the inspiration of sonic ova in the music and his voice and a lot of things overall his voice is also a hit of adventures of sonic the hedgehog the game’s amazing ❤
I love how Sonic and Tails are characterized here. With tails being a little more cocky than usual, probably due to Sonic's influence. and Sonic being a bit more relaxed, probs cause he's older.
Tails sounds more like an English dub for an old Sonic cartoon of, but Sonic sounds like an old Sonic game, but for the PS, the Sonic voice, I really like is, I think it works better than Roger, but because of the acting I would want Roger over this voice, give this person some time, and I think he could make an amazing Sonic
This and sonic utopia capture what I think Sonic should strive to be. Classic sonic level design is charming, but I can just never get behind its stop-and-go nature. Let the other platformers do that. In my opinion, Sonic's level design should prioritize constant, fluid speed and transferring of momentum. Wide, sprawling levels seem to foster this so well. Avoiding abrupt 90 degree turns and stiff, rigid movement mechanics is a win in my book. I also think bringing back a mechanic like drifting would allow for sharper turns to still work in this formula. Keep up the good work though!
If classic sonic had a 3D game, this would be that game, a fully 3D game straight out of the sonic CD intro with parkour mechanics and focus on momentum

Its actually how we handle timing in accordance to fast approaching events. You can't know how you would react to contingency without first understanding the fundamentals of velocity To have a game would be to go from intermediate to advanced trials that test player awareness. We can then accept crushing difficulty at high levels knowing that we overcame the basics in every aspect of fast pace. Obviously it would be hand holdy at first. Thats what green hills was before the meme

You did a great job! Your voice is like a mix of SATAM, OVA and CD voices which I think is very fitting for a classic/junio style sonic.
