How To Tint Your Silk Base Closure

  • Hey guys, I thought I would do a tutorial on how to tint your silk base closure to suit brown and darker skin tones, silk base closures have become much more popular recently, however most silk base closures come in a Caucasian nude colour. Foundation/ Concealer give the closure a cakey and unnatural look and doesn't last very long. Where as dying the closure is more permanent, so by using Adore in colour 106 - Mahogany I managed to get the silk base closure to a more suitable colour for people who have darker skin tones. I hope this tutorial helps you and you can leave a comment If you need extra help ill try and explain better.
The closure used in this video is from SBS_Closures you can find them on Instagram.
    Thanks For Watching!

Eric. You have to like get 3 shades of brown girls and like do a video explaining what dye would be best suited for who.
Just so we can get an idea of what dye would be best suited for our silk top closure

I always use adore dye in either chocolate brown or mocha.

Thank u soooo much Philip you are Truly Awesome, i tried the tea bag method but to no avail it was a dud on my silk base closure.I came across your video when i scrolling through videos. I immediately went to my local beauty suppy store and purchased all items u mentioned. I covered the back of my closure with the mahogany#106 and dabbed the 🔥 water on the back of closure and let it sit over night for about 6hrs. I rinsed it of with cool water and let it air dry. It turned out Exactly to match the complexion of my scalp. Thanks for sharing your technique.

Thank you Thank you thank you. You have won me over. It worked and it looks so natural. I prefer using a silk base closure and this has taken it to a more natural level. Qudos to ypu for doing all the experimenting to get it right. 😉🍒✔👍👌😁💜 Great job.

This has been super helpful. I've always been sceptical about buying closures just in case it didn't look natural, but i have just ordered one and thankful i bumped into this video :) otherwise i would have been trying all methods from concealer to cutting the part x_x

Hey Philip, thanks for this tutorial!
But I wondering, would you know how to rectify a medium dark closure?
I'm dark skinned and the closure I have at the moment looks has though it has a red undertone to it and appears almost pink against the colour of my scalp. My scalp has more of a yellow undertone. Would your method work even though my silkbase closure is already dyed?

Honestly considering it is semi permanent dye only a very little amount. But after two to three washes you will probably have to repeat this step. And since it's so easy and simple I'm pretty sure many wouldn't mind.
