My best 5k is 45 minutes-ish. I'm 62. Started "running" less than a year ago. I'm trying to improve my fitness/respiration after enduring pneumonia twice (once was double pneumonia) and bronchitis 3 times. This was all within a bit longer than a years period of time. 5 years ago, due to these illnesses, my lungs were destroyed (allow the hyperbole) I still can't run the entire 3.1. I still can't run a mile. I can't even run a 1/2 mile without feeling like I'm drowning and my lungs are going to explode. It's very frustrating. When I go out to Bear Creek Park, a 2.1 loop, I start with a 4 minute warm up and then run for 45 seconds and walk for 2 minutes. The goal is to eventually be able to run the 2.1. Which would lead to being able to run an entire 3.1. In December I'm running a half-marathon in Dallas, TX. I want to run the entire course. No run/walking for me in December.
In 1989 I was diagnosed with tumors in my left hip my running career ended. In 2012 I could barely walk they had to removed the tumors along with a total hip replacement. 2013 I began my personal therapy on I started doing running drills in the pool and using a stationary bike. 2014 I walked, waddle, jog, and ran in 5k's. 2015 I joined Crunch gym and started training for San Antonio Rock 'n' Roll half-marathon I ran it in 2:40 minutes. 2019 is going to be my 3rd half-marathon and 90% of my training is at the gym using the stationary bike and treadmill I only run one day outdoors. I want to thank my family and friends for their prayers and God for giving me a second in enjoy this sport that many people don't enjoy. You have to simply "Believe!"
At age 67 my favorite part of a marathon or ultra is when a much younger runners asks somewhere around mile 23 or mile 31; “ so how old are you if you don’t mind my asking?” - makes it all worthwhile 😁🏃♂️🏃♂️
I just ran a 10.5km in 41min 20sec. After 5 day on the TT bike doing 230km total of Sprint ride with 33lymph average speeds. Today run was a week from my last 10km run, which was faster,41min flat. When I started running I'll be lucky to run 10km in a hour. I'm 45 years old and every year I'm getting faster and faster.I'll will .i believe i can bust the 40min .and when I do I'll shot for a faster time. You are only limited by you self believe,it all in your head.i run and ride to build a stronger mind, mental toughness. Keep on going .believe in yourself. No human is limited.
My goal now is to run a 5K under 30'00. I'm 20 and I was a professional middle distance runner (4 years ago).. during a race my left hip gave way. I'm 22 and lost 15kg in the last 8 months. I had stomach pain and cramps every day and couldn't eat anymore. No one could tell me what is wrong with my body. I went to hospital for 3 weeks and then they finally found my problem. I got celiac disease in the highest stage of Marsch 4. My intestinal villi are completly destroyed and thats the reason why I lost so much weight. I changed my nutrition and started running 2 weeks ago and I feel better then ever. I can only run 3km without stopping right now but I will fight to get back into life. My goal is a half marathon and later a full one. This video is awesome!

My Goal is to complete a Half Marathon xD I trained a year for one (was running before but only 8km) then had an accident a month before it :c Im still not at my peak again and fighting with 13km right now. I had the worst Chicago marathon in 2017. I want to go back and break 4hrs. I’m 43 with back issues and 3 kids. My pace is 9:45 right now. I’m in the 7th week of training and running 45-50 miles per week. Thanks for your video.
My goal is to be in the low 16’s by next year and to have a 4:30 mile time. I can do it and I know I can and once I do reach that goal I’m going to keep working my a** off and try to be in the 14’s my senior year. It’s going to be tough and hard, but I can do it and it’s worth it.
goal = 6 minute mile. I used to be a Sprinter back in my younger days, 20 years later I Eliud has since inspired me to run again, but distance this time!
I’m 18 and 260 pounds. And I’m trying to reform my life and I signed up for a 5k this October and hopefully I want to try running it in under 30 minutes. I can barely run a mile without stoping but hopefully in this 4 weeks I’m going to change that.
I started running 6 days ago. I’m doing the couch to 5k training plan. I’m 300lbs but I know I can do it!! I also quit smoking cold turkey! I feel so much better already. I love running!!
My story is not particularly good: I'm 22 years old and started running about a month ago on a whim (I was never a fan of sports, I used to spend my typical free day sat on a chair on my pc) and strangely... i found it almost fun. It made me forget for about 30 min my stupid little problems and I just felt good about myself, good because I was doing something for and with me. At the moment I hope to run 5k in less than 30 min, my personal record for now is 33 min!
When I was a freshman, I wasn't able to run for 8 minutes. Over the summer before my junior year, I ran 300 miles. It was tough, because before May the longest I've even ran was for 1 mile. Late May I started 3 miles a day, with one rest day each week. Vacation threw me off and I lost what momentum I had built up. From then on, I was determined to get 6 miles every day. And I did it, one day I even ran 8! Last week I just ran my first 5k in 25:01. Today I ran my second, which was a few seconds worse though the course was supposed to be easier. My new goal is to keep running with the top group on my team, no matter how hard it gets. I know I can do better if I train right. I will not fail.
I remember why I love running thanks to this little clip . I started about a month ago now and don’t plan on stopping except beer nights . I can’t run drunk 🥴. Didn’t go so well
My goal is to represent my country, India in the Olympics and through hard work and determination, claim the title of fastest man. I want to break the current 100m record
@@Dave-so7sf Yep. I'll have to run 3.11 miles at my current 2 mile pace. But, I think I can get there with hard, consistent work. Over the past few months. I have gone from running 30-40 miles per week to running 60-70 miles per week. I've lost some speed due to tired legs but have become an aerobic beast. When, I taper and begin to do speed work, I'll be flying.
Cian Bell my first meet is like in 2 months and I haven’t ran in like a month and Idk I really feel discouraged rn and I really wanna hit at least a 17.30, Ik it sucks but do u have any advice bro
@@angeltrejo6543 Two months is not a lot of time, but it is enough to built a decent enough base for high school XC. It's different for everyone, as we all have different degrees of running talent, but for me personally, it took a base of about 40 miles per week before I was in shape to run 17:30. I did a lot of 4-6 mile runs at an easy, aerobic pace. After most of these runs I would do strides: 4-8 x 100m at efforts ranging from 400m to mile race pace. Each weekend I would try to get in a longer run, 8-10 miles in length, starting easy and finishing at a more moderate effort. As you get more aerobically fit, feel free to add in tempo runs. For a 17:30 5K runner, tempo pace is about 6:00/mile. At your level, I think that 3 miles would be long enough of a tempo run. Long intervals (3-6 x 800m-1600m) at 5K pace as well as hill repeats are also helpful. Good luck!
I have been feeling kind of depressed, and I didn’t prepared myself for my next race, but this video motivated me so much. I don’t know why, but I even want to cry. I’ll be more disciplined next time. Thanks for this video.

i'm 17 now, i left running two years ago due to some injuries, seeing this kind of videos gives me a bit of nostalgic memories, honestly my pr at that time is not that impressive at all my only decent time is when i get sub15 in 5k got that time cause of him, how great full am i to witnessed this man achieve the impossible.
my goal this year as a freshmen in high school is to break 18 minute 5K
Aridesi same man. u got this!
@@scottbowey thanks, I appreciate it
Bro I will do it in 17 min
@@vikeshkumar1416 how is that going for you
You can do it!
A freshman at my school just ran 18:05 for a 5k today
I had the worst Chicago marathon in 2017. I want to go back and break 4hrs. I’m 43 with back issues and 3 kids. My pace is 9:45 right now. I’m in the 7th week of training and running 45-50 miles per week. Thanks for your video.
come back better than I was before a 7 month injury.
Love the video!!! Running is a way of life!!
My goal is to be in the low 16’s by next year and to have a 4:30 mile time. I can do it and I know I can and once I do reach that goal I’m going to keep working my a** off and try to be in the 14’s my senior year. It’s going to be tough and hard, but I can do it and it’s worth it.
How do you overcome your mind
KIPCHOGE changed my life style💯💯🙌🏽🙌🏽🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾
goal = 6 minute mile.
Go fasting if you wanna lose weight. Running will motivate you but will make you hungry all the time.
New York All-State, sub 16 xc 5k, 4:25 indoor mile, 4:20 outdoor mile
Watching this on race day 🤩. State champs.
I started running 6 days ago. I’m doing the couch to 5k training plan. I’m 300lbs but I know I can do it!! I also quit smoking cold turkey! I feel so much better already. I love running!!
Sick video as always. My goal is HM under 75mins
If you are undisciplined, you are a slave to your moods. This man’s wisdom guides my life.
Cmonn!
Watching this video is the best thing happened to me today...Thanks

Success is Never Owned, It’s Rented, and the Rent is Due Every- Single Day, Every-Single Moment
Yes!! No retreat!!!
Been running since 2015. It’s almost 2023 and still loving it today. Lost 50 lbs at the beginning in 6 months
"Be the better of all time in all"
I remember why I love running thanks to this little clip . I started about a month ago now and don’t plan on stopping except beer nights . I can’t run drunk 🥴. Didn’t go so well
My goal is to represent my country, India in the Olympics and through hard work and determination, claim the title of fastest man. I want to break the current 100m record
What a fantastic video!
My goal is to run a sub-16 5K and make my college team.
Cian Bell That’s a fast pace!
Cian Bell yo bro
Good luck!
Great vid. You gotta fight your demons. My goal is to run a full marathon next year.
I wanna run a 4 flat mile before I graduate from high school. Currently at 4:33 and I’m a freshmen. Still got 3 more years of high school.
you could go sub 4 tbh
I have been feeling kind of depressed, and I didn’t prepared myself for my next race, but this video motivated me so much. I don’t know why, but I even want to cry. I’ll be more disciplined next time.
Thanks for this video.
My goal is to run 42km in 2hr 30 mins

My Goal IS to enjoy running as much as I can

What is a good pace
@@dont_talk2me 10 km within an hour
@@thewanderer673 and who defines 60 min for 10k is a good pace? Do you know lot of athletes believe 50 min for 10k is a easy day lazy run and lot of people doing 75min 10k is great pace?
So I guess you are saying 60 min 10k is a good pace for you. Personally individually ONLY for you.
@@dont_talk2me ok bro, will try to speed up that.
@@thewanderer673 no chief my point is there is no 'good pace' or bad pace. Pace is a pace and its individual pace . What is slow for me might be fast for you.
