  • The point of this isn't to bash on the Windsor they're very well suited to the commercial sector as they have a low operating cost, and great ease of use features but the trade off is they just don't have a lot of airflow or agitation.

I totally agree with this video. I donated my old Karcher CV36/2 (Windsor Versamatic) to the local church where I have done some videos. Reason being it's easy to deal with easy bag changes and it's durable. However when I used Kirby G6 with stiff oblique brushroll it removed way more sand and fine dust. That was 69 cfm vs 121 cfm what I have measured.

I remember that machine it had a hose in the nozzle vs having a standard swivel joint neck. I think that was why we saw higher flow and suction numbers at the nozzle that and did it have a cleanout trap door on it too? Either way similar situation with the direct airs being able to loosen the embedded soil

@@Blackheartvacs Yep hose in the nozzle, but no cleanout port. Although hose is easy to remove from the nozzle end. Red stiff brushstrip might improve the pickup.

@@vacuumtests9225 I'm not sure. I think it's lack of agitation is more about the speed and shape of the brush. It''s a pretty (seemingly) slow brushroll and the shape of the brush will only guide the debris towards the inlet for one part of the nozzle

@@Blackheartvacs It seems to be low rpm brushroll. I have noticed the same thing. It pushes the dirt to the other side and away from the inlet. Problem with bigger debris. Chevron style brushroll would solve that issue. I always felt that Sebo ET1 is much better. Although agitation could be better.

@@vacuumtests9225 Definitely. The strips are just cheaper over time so more ideal for the commercial sector

It'll be interesting to see how well the new Sebo/Karcher direct air does. I've heard that the cordless version outcleans the Tacony cordless one.

I've seen that video to me it looks like the tacony one looked worse partially due to the gap in the middle of the brush as well as the user's cleaning path. At this point in time it'd be hard to say which is better but perhaps one day we'll know. I do think the Sebo's brushroll is probably better suited to the design given that it's kind of a chevron pattern meant to draw debris to the inlet.

Sanitaire: higher CFM, more agitation, possibly cheaper. What's not to like? 😁👍

More maintenance and more potential for damage but that's the trade off. I just look how my co workers treat their equipment and i'm like a direct air machine would be a terrible idea for them. I could see most of them not changing belts, installing bags wrong, picking up anything and everything. Quite a few of the windsors have a lean (broken support) to them due to people ramming them into things or using them to push furniture.

@@Blackheartvacs since you are certainly the expert at your job, you could educate them, which would be a monumental task I'm sure. 🤣

@@VacLab Oh my god NO! I have neither the time or the patience for that.
