i followed the process the first time with WD40 and the oil stains lifted, but spread out. I believe there was also some residual staining from the WD40. I then performed the process again this time without the WD40, only working in the baking soda then
using Costco brand dish washing liquid. Happy to report the oil stains are completely gone & no damage to the coloring or texture of my medium grey chino pants. Definitely worked for me. Thank You!
"get the baking soda and just sprinkle it on there." (dumps the whole box on it.)
😂
Wow! I had about given up on any hope of removing a buttery, greesy stain on my favorite pair of pants but this method really works! I am amazed! Well worth the shot! Thank you so much for this video!
Hi Nicole,
Glad this works for you!
🤗😁🤗
Better than having to buy a new pair!!!
I will be trying this on some shorts and a shirt I just got oil on.
I am going to give this a shot, thank you!!!
It does work guys,i had to do it twice on my cargo shorts,it had refrigerant oil from work, thanks miss
😊👍
Thanks I’m going to try this on my husbands greasy work clothes
Thanks.Works like a charm.
You are welcome!
Wow ! thanks for sharing
Massive thanks from across the pond! I thought I had wrecked my new Hugo Boss top with cooking oil. This worked a treat :)
Yay! So glad it worked for you!!!!
Oh you are so lovely, thank you so much for this great tip❤
Thank you! ❤
Did you know WD40 was originally only made as a rust remover?
Great job!
Thank you!
Is this safe with every color of clothing?
Thanks for the helpful hint. Your voice is nice enough that you do not need a high-energy jig playing in the background. Consider eliminating the music next time around. Thanks again.
*Noe Berengena* ,
Thank you! I appreciate your compliment and comment!
Have a great day and am glad this could help!
😊😊😊
I bought a tommy hillfiger jeans for like 850 and i got stains on the back and front. I saw this and tried it. There is no signs of stains anymore. It was motor oil or some like that
Omg it really worked on my clothes...thanks for this 😁❤
*Musicanna Obieta* ,
So happy for you!!! Glad this worked!
I hope I'm gonna use you technique, because at work at a pastry and sometimes I get dirty with oil.But what is WD-40? It rings a bell to me.
It is available through Amazon, and it is a lubricant that can help in this process!
Just used this on my favorite hoodie after washing and drying a popcorn oil stain into it and it worked perfectly! I was pretty skeptical.
I've been trying to figure out something to get crusty pit stains out of my white undershirts and I wonder if this might work.
Do you know if this method could work on a really thick nylon alpha industries bomber jacket that has some oil stains on the back?
It should. Tough stains would just need additional applications. 😊
Will this work for oil stains that are dried in due to the dryer?
Yes. The WD-40's job is to reconstitute the oil stain making it possible to be removed. So, give this process a try and let us know your result! Good luck!
Hi, can this be used on any color clothing? I got a used motor oil stain on my Charcoal Gray shirt and medium gray sweat pants and want to save them and get the stain removed if possible. 😭
It shouldn't be a problem as much as you'll need likely multiple applications.
If you decide to use this method, just let me know the result.
Is the method laundry detergent necessary??
Is it gonna work without it ?
Of course! 😊
It is a part of the recipe!
Does this method work with tiger balm/lotion/camphor ointment?
This method is effective on oil stains. But try it and let us know your result. You will likely need to run through this more than once!
How about taking oil stains out of smooth upholstery fabric where I can't run it through a wash? Thanks
To be honest, this method applies to typical clothing and not upholstery materials.
Hi Mike. Honestly, I have no clue! However, if it were me, I would try putting baking soda on the original stain and letting it sit for a few hours to see if it makes a difference. I've also heard that rubbing chalk on the stain and letting it sit might work. I wouldn't add water, just wipe chalk/ baking soda off with a towel. Hope this helps!?!?!
Too scared to try this on something I think I might salvage. Maybe when I get frustrated enough to throw the shirt out.
What do you have to lose?! 😁 And it is an option to make something better. 😊
Do you know if this will work on motor oil?
Yes. You may need two applications though. Try it and let us know! 😊
Hi does this also work on coloured clothes like red t shirt with oil stain on it? Will it fade the colour off of the shirt?
It shouldn't discolor any piece of clothing since none of the ingredients encourage discoloration. You may need to run through this more than once for those stubborn stains. 😊
So surprised to see no comments.
*Saad Chougle* ,
Thank you for the suggestion and commenting! 🥰
We have thought the same!
Because people are so busy to remove the oil stains and so happy with result to the point forgot to leave comments.
This is true... 😆😄👍
How does this apply to using it on a sofa?
That's a good question. I've only used this method for clothes.
On cleaning the sofa, though, I suggest another method like carpet shapooer with sofa attachment.
Will this work on a shirt that has the oil stain after it’s already been washed a bunch of times? Or only when you just get the oil on it ...
It should. I mean the steps are in order to reconstitute the oil releasing it during the process. It could be likely you'd need to do this multiple times since you've had your shirt in previous wash and dry cycles. 😊
This is a nice method but it’s a lot of scrubbing for an oil stain.
*Wali Khaled* ,
Thank you for your compliment. Depending on the size of the oil stain, you may not need to scrub as much!
We wanted to show the steps and the how-to in this video... so in reality, we could possibly have saved a few scrubs. 😊
Take care!
Wouldn't using a toothbrush possibly damage the material's threads lightly?
It's not been an issue for me!
Does this work with old stains
It wouldn't hurt to try!
When you say to this process one more time do you mean resaturate with wd40 or just baking soda?
Yes! Exactly! 😊
Just tried to remove a penny sized olive oil stain from my new clothes using this method, I ended up with two large new stains, I feel the new stains are from the WD40 and not from the original oil.
I did all the instructions like in the video, I even repeated the whole process twice and ended up with even larger stains this time around!
Any idea what could've gone wrong and how to fix it?
*Ahmad Abu Raddad*
Did you use the blue Dawn dishsoap?
This has worked every single time for me. I've normally used this method on cotton, cotton-blends, and rayon fabrics.
@@BibbersandBinx
No I used a different brand, we don't have that one in our country.
Oh. Sorry to hear you can not get the same dishsoap... 😟
Does it have to be blue or can it be the purple dawn
Blue is just what we've used and worked each time! 😊
oh god.. wish she told me you needed a tooth brush at the beginning. back to the super market !
Lol!
Yes, a toothbrush is a part of the necessary items for this project too... (thumbnail)
😊😊😊
anyone else dancing like crazy to this music?
