Also, I FEEL your pain at piling pillows to hold the bottom of the winch in place while working from above. I spent six days on what should have been a two hour "just replace the manual bilge pump" job. I totally understand why The Skipper kept Gilligan around. Even incompetent, he was an extra set of hands!! That said: All Hail Irwin! In vice do we grip!! ;-)
What bolts and nuts did you use? All I can find online is "A4 M6 hex head bolts" which doesn't seem to be available through amazon, and my local chandlers are even bigger idiots than me. :-p
Hi, just found ur chan due to self-tail google search. Been watchn/researchn sailn vids for 4+ years, for some reason urs has never popped up as a recommended view, perhaps due to not havn "sailing" in ur chan name? dun-no. Anyhow, looks like were similar mind set re beatn the luxury markups. Lookn 4wrd to watchn past & future vids, especially the elec setup. By the way, u remind me of a DangarStu/Plukky love child, obviously the latter be'n mum 😉⛵
LOL... just been through this too, replacing two Francis (Barlow/Barient) 25's with two new Andersen ST40 self-tailers on my own. I found a great set of parallel-jawed toothless vice-grips at Bunnings and after spinning on the nuts below I'd clamp them one by one and race up top to screw down the bolts with a Makita impact drill. The vice-grips had enough inertia in them not to spin. Worked wonders. :)

Haha paolo! My biggest fan 🍕🍺
A great video, you’re doing some great work, both sides of the camera. You’re killing this new phase in your life. You’ve got to be happy with that.
Thanks for the kind words Kevin! Yup, having heaps of fun
