Not sure what will happen if they get more recognition, their songs sound so personal and passionate. Maybe is better if they stay under the radar, just my opinion.
Saw them open for Chelsea Wolfe at this small bar in Denver back in 2013. Went to see Chelsea Wolfe but ended up digging this band more, they’re kinda like a Stoner my bloody valentine
Just saw them at Mohawk in Austin in the small room. I have to say, it was the best performance I've seen by a live band in a long time. I could feel the sound waves from the kick drum and guitars blast through. They rocked my face off.
Excellent band! Which kinda disappeared leading up to Covid. are they still around? The first two records are incredible, Circumambulation was also a great record. Avvolgere had some nice moments (about 3/4 great songs) but that album felt rushed to me, seemed more like filler for whatever reason. I guess they run out of steam.
i wish we could get a new album. true widow is the best. anyone know what projects these folks have been in? i know dan was doing a lot of woodworking, and i know nicole did backing vox on a drab majesty album but what was like 7 years ago.
Stereo Fender style amps, set at breakup point and pushed with an overdrive pedal (he uses a Blues Driver) and a Tape Echo (I'm guessing their preamps adds some mojo) is his setup.
damn, man.( you shoud use a fucking ear plug to hear your voice in your head and take a note. such a cheap and easy way to sing a bit better. just one plug, so you will hear monitors and your vocals on a stage with another ear.
yeah when I saw them live a few months ago and he sounded really good. Must of just been having a weird day or something bc he doesn't sound that great here. Usually he's really great though. They were so good live!
St. Vitus is a notoriously difficult room to play. There is always a fucking shit ton of stage volume to deal with making in-ears worthless. Long story short, it is hard to sound good there.
I love their albums and music, and generally the shows are great, but both times I saw them (two years apart/two different venues), I made the same observation. It wasn't constant, but there were enough obvious vocal wavers that people around me would look at each other when it happened.
Criminally, criminally underrated band.

First "new song" is "Back Shredder," the second is "O.O.T.P.V." I guess AVVOLGERE hadn't been released yet.
@@micahnewman Nope, they played these before the album dropped
@@kidpresentable That's what I just said.

Ok
true widow is the type of music where you completely space out and think about nothing. truly transcendent music
This band has touched my heart forever and they keep getting better and better
it should be a crime how underrated this band is
Sunday Driver always kicks my ass. Those new songs are dope as hell.
Same, probably my all time favorite song by them
My favourite band of all time. I cant wait for the new album.
Bakhtiyar Berkin How'd you like the new record?
They're moving up the ranks for me. Fucking amazing band.

you know the drummer will always break your headbang cycle every after 4th beat cos he always purposefully shuffled for the feeeeelz
Love their slow speed, lyrics... moodyness
My favorite band. Надеюсь увидеть их снова.
Они давно альбомы не выпускают
I fucking LOVE True Widow. Best band.
This group is so bad ass! Every song sludgier and sludgier. Great concert footage. Come to NM soon.

Damn that's some serious rockin' then!
I had a nice chat with Dan Phillips about his gear. You can check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/Wjy_nT-Wnw8/v-deo.html
I was introduced to these guys about 4 years ago. First song /video was to SHS. Loved it immediately! Love the distortion!!!👍🤘🤘
Exceptional. Very talented band.
True Widow will always be Timeless. Please come back to Albuquerque.

Love this band
I've never heard a good mix from this venue. ever. WTF
The guitarist gives me major Bad Cooper from Twin Peaks vibes
Man I would love to meet these guys.

Tnx dude
Edward Lamb do you know what kind of Gibson he's using?
Eddy Quintero He uses Gibson L6S models
The thing that will probably get you closest is the open tunings. Some of these songs are in B wahine tuning, others are in open 6, etc.
I don't think it's possible to stop listening to blooden horse
Anybody know DH TUNING?
Anyone know what rig Nicole plays through?
Without looking too closely, something like a stereo rig with an ampeg svt4pro and ampeg b2r or similiar
numb hand is my song
3 man durge!

Gibson SB400
