Thanks Steve ,Qrendi has a big place in my heart. My dad was born and raised there. I still have family living in the village and that's where I stay when I come to Malta.
That's awesome, I am starting a lost in many villages soon know anyone in Qrendi maybe show me a round ?? ..Thank you so much for the comments and great support
@@EnglishmaninMalta Steve I suggest that you contact the mayor David Michael Schembri . He has a wealth of knowledge about Qrendi and he's a nice man too. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Nice little adventure there Steve! D like to go down there and explore more, but maybe too dense. Any wildlife in the area? Looks like you have a new camera too. What's the model? Quality is superb!
Same camera Sony hx 60, just trying new setting, yes you can go down but its a bit of a climb, and it was too wet on that day, but as you say might be to over grown , wildlife !! you mean lion and tigers ...lol no maybe a few rats..who knows ?? Thanks for the comments..
Englishman in Malta Sounds good. I was thinking more bird life in Malta, around these environments? Maybe some bats in these environments. Doing a bit of teaching here at the moment. I maybe go travel around Cambodia for a month over Christmas. Have you been? You'd like exploring the Angkor Wat temples. The roots of the trees are fused with the architecture because it was buried underground for years. Amazing place!
The Hunter Traveller. wow...lol.....just my sense of humor lots of birds and insects, and trees 100s of yeas old yes, go Cambodia it's a great country was there long time ago , sadly they just let it rot....they don't realise what they have got until it's too late, like Malta , only now they are thinking its a good idea to preserve temples that are older then the Pyramids, that's my next vid and that coast line is awesome
Englishman in Malta Your totally right. Sadly they just want to profit from tourism. I went with friends to watch the sunset on top of a temple. It was like a flea market..couldn't move! And you could see the damage it was causing and how down trodden the surface had become. It's sad to see. I felt so stupid standing on the temple with all those people. Decided I wouldn't do that again. Looking forward to your next video! Keep up the good work!!
Thank you for the detailed information. Being a 'nerd' I really like that. Nice traditional choice of music too. Stay cool it's a hot summer in Europe!
i went there 6 years ago. i tried to reach the bottom by crowling beneath a great rock . i was afraid as i was alone and didn,t risk passing through a very narrow passage and ending god knows where. next time visit Wied Babu from the edge on the road to the bottom passing Qancula rock until you reach the sea facing Blue grotto, 15 minutes walk.
Oh wow! you like adventure, Yes i was thinking about going down the sinkhole i watch a video sometime ago two guys went down at that time you needed some rope not sure now after the fire what happened ...i tried to go down weid Babu, but went up on the cliffs completely the wrong direction ..there is a guy if you want to watch he goes down ,,ua-cam.com/video/cI-OU282CBY/v-deo.html its in maltese . but looks like you are maltese so maybe understand ..hes got some awesome videos check him out
Would have been great if you went down. We used to go down using a rope... as teenagers those days. There were no safety barriers then. It's out of this world down there!
timvella hi ....yes !! .......What a marvelous place, was thinking about going down , in fact there is a video a few years back showing how, two problems , I was alone , and it was was very wet, it's on my to do list for the summer.....watch this space.....lol
Yes Jim, was thinking that....But it was so wet !! maybe in the summer...there is a video, some guys going down about 3 years ago, but there was lots of thick vegetation,
But i have info that differ to yours, Like all sinkholes, this cavity was formed by the collapse of a limestone floor situated above a cavity hollowed out by water flowing in a karstic relief. . It is composed of blue clay and globigerina limestone that top the lower coralline limestone or żonqor. The area is a place of natural interest formed via the power of storm water runoff water which percolated through cracks and in fact if you go to this area when there is a decent rain fall you can see the rain flowing down there still until this day !
fascinating ...
