Incredible to hear that they’re loading fuel into the starship at 2 tonnes per second. That’s truly remarkable.
Holy crap.
@@vablo7198fueling in 50 minutes
Yeah, that as much as anything really brings the scale of this into focus!
And they can unload it ten times as fast
All of this work just to detonate it before reaching orbit.
Great update as always Matt!
Can’t wait for IFT-3
Days! Hooray! Let's go - God speed IFT3!
I watched crew 8 launch from 10 miles away could visibly see the launch pad from where I was. That plume was something to behold.
you have the best starship summaries matt, keep up the good work!
Just been introduced to your channel - it’s great ! Keep up the good work !
Congratulations SpaceX!! So excited to see the next flight.
Amazing video as always... Hope you will be live for starship 3
I initially read that as "hope you will be alive for starship 3" and I was like "oh boy, I hope so!"
@@MattLowne sheess.... Surely you will be alive 😄 i would miss your videos 😉 live streaming bro 😄
@@MattLowne We all like to joke about spaceflight progress being full of delays but this is ridiculous!
@MattLowne R.I.P.
Hope youll stay alive for the next 24 hours😏👍@@MattLowne
I get the feeling we are seeing spacex just getting into their stride for this year
Oh 100%, i think there's quite the high possibility Starship will be working well enough to start launching payloads as soon as mid next year, considering they nearly reached orbit on the last attempt.
Agreed@@unownyoutuber9049
Your weekly updates are still the best out of everyone's
Odysseus didn't land, it "crashed with style"!
My dad suggested "landed with enthusiasm" :)
And my interpretation was that it "failed at failing to miss the ground gently". Although now I'm worried that I modified the reference too much for it to be understandable, so I'll clarify that that was originally a Hitchhiker's Guide reference.

“Another happy landing, see you next sun rise”
Thank you Matt =)
Lets Go......!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im excited for ift-3
Hope for the best, go!

5:54 This was really just Starship engaging it's warp drive. It only took 0.007854356 seconds to reach Ludicrous Speed. It is somewhere outside the solar system now.
I appreciate that you capitalized both L and S, appropriately.

As a first time viewer of your channel, first, I want to say that this was a great video, and it didn't take me long to like and subscribe. I am very curious as to what launch simulator you used at the end of this video, I loved it!!!!!
ABSOLUTE BANGER keep it up!
Jesus, I'm now noticing how massive that rocket really is from that perspective when it was lifting the booster up
I i watched the transport 10 yesterday on my lunch break.
Huge thansk, Matt! I really apreciate that you are still producing Space This Week weekly videos despite the ammount of views it has. Also, I can't get why it has such a little amount of views even though they're a pretty high-quality videos.
Still the best space update vid on the interweb 👍
Having one astronaut named Tang Hongbo and another named Hongbo Tang in the same space program must be so confusing
SpaceX be trolling us with starship 😂
Godspeed IFT-3…Godspeed
Ship 29 next to the stack could certainly be for photos. Possibly for the next test flight trailer for the SpaceX youtube channel.
That's a cheeky sounding devil.
the best space channel. a cadence of actual news, not the daily stuff that is a bit thin.

Request for the falcon 9 launches: Keep all the information about payload (starlink group x/x for example), landing spots and times of reuse in for all the flights.
Every time you leave some of that out my brain goes like: How many times did it fly before? I WANNA KNOWWWW!!!
how much cryongenic fuel burns off from loading and unloading?
Hey Matt! You probably won’t see this but could you try making a Kerbin base system either with the kPBS or in vanilla? I’d love to see you do something with kernel attachment system too!

MATT POSTED FINALLY!!!!!!!!!
❤😂🎉 IFT-3 great success 🙌
IFT3 got me excited!!!!!! 👩🏼🚀🚀🌎🛰
IFT 3 launch will on 14th March
While there's optimism, it's important to recognize that Starship is yet to attain orbit and, crucially, perfect the art of safe re-entries. Here's hoping for successful advancements in both areas!
Starship's development is very different from what we've seen before, with a focus on rapid iteration. It's also worth noting that many major launch vehicles didn't succeed on their first flight (e.g. Ariane V, Electron, etc.), and given how technically advanced Starship is over any previous vehicle, some teething issues with prototypes is forgivable and frankly expected
@@MattLowne I agree. I just won't bet the farm until I see the "beef".
rip moonlander XD
What test are next before launch
I could imagine them doing a full stack static fire. Other than that, maybe more WDRs depending on how long they have to wait for the launch license.
But if the launch license gets released really soon I could see them not doing any more tests and just going straight for launch.
Next? Test how fast FAA can send license.
The Chinese carrier rocket looks like my KSP rockets
Is this the prequel to Iron Sky?
Third times the charm... we wull sea
If IFT-3 goes well i woulnt be suprised if we get a 4/20 launch
re: Ship being moved next to full stack;
Looks like they want to test try a re-stack on landing ...
I'd be excited to see if they attempt this.
It would mean they are probably testing relaunch timing soon!
It would imply a try of landing the booster rocket in the chopsticks.
Fun story: my school had a talk with one of the astronauts on crew 8
Edit: it was jenette epps
🎉
Why don't landing craft use some kind of dampener when landing? I am thinking of dune buggy type suspension. There must be a reason.
extra mass, the ones with bigger mass budgets do use suspension.
Blows my mind how ROUTINE these Falcon launches have become. Totally off the radar for any ordinary news agency now. "Of COURSE they had a successful launch and landing. What else did you expect?"
Since gluons are massless, do they get to ride for free?
"Near-simultaneous stacking" -- you mean near-sequential stacking? Simultaneous means "at the same time" -- this was pretty close to "one immediately after the other" but not quite, so
I meant "Near-simultaneous stacking", because what actually happened was sequential stacking, so I was saying that the two events happened so close to one another that they were almost simultaneous.
It’s so crazy that we have rockets launching so often that I don’t even really care about falcon 9 launches anymore😅
What an accent! With the rapid-fire delivery it was hard to make out by us gauche Americans. Even the Closed Captioning had a hard time -- "launch area" was transcribed as "lawn cherry."
Love this channel and the series thanks allot
I really appreciate your Space News Content Matt! I know it's tough to make this series and it isn't getting enough views, but it is extremely inspiring!
The boring regularity of the Starlink deployments is most impressive. I'm thinking SpaceX Inc. would do well, to allow major non-profits advertise and raise funds using the cylinder walls like a billboard.
Be really nice to see some emergency space walker recovery implements being tested. Just in case a space walker were to get accidentally disconnected from the life lines. A magnetic gripper hand, attached, like a sinker to a fishing line on a fishing pole would be fun to watch being played with. Maybe a speargun launcher; or, a CO2 powered grappling net; and on and on.
SpaceX is crazy busy. They do more in a month than the rest do in a year.
Its hard to use lasers when your surrounded by glass.
WHERE ARE THE TIRES TO KICK!!
I thought the reason the Starlink mission only had 23 sats onboard was because they are the next generation and are larger. thus Falcon 9 could not take anymore?
Am i the only one who still thinks flight 2 was like a month ago 😅
YOU MISSED THE INDIAN SPACE NEWS!!!!!!
Your kerbals are waiting!!
i want to see a forever rover on the moon a rover thats either rtg powered or solar generator either way to stay in the suns light for 29 day 12 hours and 44 mins at 6783 miles would just need to go 6.3 mph or 15 kmh if if nuclear powerd can use tesla motors for power and big instruments
Ah so we have some photos from a heap of wreckage on the moon and some more theatre from Space X. Meanwhile the adults were quietly getting on with business.
New rule. Every time you launch something new into orbit you have to bring two old things back
Cheers for another update Matt!
I love your videos! Excited for every monday!
So sad to them piss away all those RS-25 emgines.
I can't help but wonder what Space X could achieve if they had NASA'a manned space budget.

Why is Musk seen giving high 5's just after the booster went kaboom.?
They accomplished a lot with data, he’s keeping everyone motivated as well. Good leader

Hello from Florida!
Great coverage of SpaceX. I could care less about SLS though so I stopped the video. You might want to put SLS dead last on your channel (or skip it).
They are plenty other YT channels that only cover SpaceX news. MattLowne is entitled to cover other space news.

Starship completed its wet dress rehersal? Next stop Launch!!
Not any of these starship version has ever or will ever reach Low Earth Orbit.
Why does Elon clap and high five the catastrophic failures? Maybe he just likes explosions?
❤
Sadly ift-3 will be a carbon copy of fit-2. I hope they finally realize the current configuration is never going to work. Starship can’t bucks physic’s.
We need for starship to be successful for moon mission’s.
Then we are going to need a new moon rocket. One that can carry the heavy earth moving equipment to the moon surface and drive off the rocket.
Which will be used for the moon base and dig the regolith. The hard part will be landing a large piece of equipment to process the regolith to extract helium 3.
Which can be returned to earth with starship. The million dollar question will be if booster can carry starship to 335 miles to send it to moon with a minor burn. The question is will starship have the necessary fuel on board to land on the moon and then return to earth and land safely.
The current moon base design can be carried and deployed on the moon. Then the earth moving equipment only has to cover the inflatable moon base. This will make is safe for the astronauts to begin work on the moon. If they pull this off we will be in reach of life without fossil fuels. Elon will become very rich from this commercial endeavor. Let just get there.
Not gonna happen cause Elon is a controlling egotistical megalomaniac.
I’m sure Elon is studying your post carefully 😂
@@cobraarms2466
I’m positive he only reads his own products. He is a great salesman. But not much of an engineer. I’m sure the engineers of SpaceX have identified these problems. But Elon is the road block. To redesign of starship would cost SpaceX to create or copy the Apollo f-1 engine it would cost SpaceX 30 billion dollars . They can’t create more than 13 engines of a single frame.. if he had used booster rockets the problem wouldn’t exist. But the real problem is Elon’s short on that kind of cash. NASA and the military can be difficult if your project is not making progress. Just look at the helicopter that was built and appeared to be a success. The military has always ask for so many abilities to the project. That when competed it was a Swiss Army knife. So when you finish the project it doesn’t particularly work very well. The f-22, the f-35 and the next two aircraft about to take to the sky. They all are not as good as they could be. This all start in the mid 80’s.
I’m glad to be retired now. But as to the military they wee a great customer. They never cared about how much prototype’s cost. But once it was ready to go to production then they cared about how much the project cost. Elon has a limited window. After this flight he needs to redesign starship or they will walk away from him. I would like them to suceed. They could change the entire world with cheap energy. If Elon doesn’t have the cash he needs to approach the military to fund the redesign and build the military what ever they have in mind for their space force. Centuries
Did man really walk on the moon in 1969. I mean if we can't land something on it safely over 50 years on then I'd wonder what your views are on all the conspiracy theories.
Seems more plausible that human pilots can stick those landings while the machines fail
Yes we did. Probes can not adapt to situations as they happen, thus why they fail more.
Also. Odysseus budget was estimated to be around 0.01% of Apollos. So, speso for speso, it managed pretty well.
Money, money is the reason we could than but now with less money ( and probes) it is much harder
Hello there
