2024 September 04 - NGC 6995: The Bat Nebula

In today's image, we see a portion of the Veil Supernova remnant known as the Bat Nebula. This is some of the debris left behind by a star which exploded long ago and has been expelled out into the interstellar medium. This will become parts of future generations of stars.
