I think it makes it better and it shows what Dewey and Gale should have had through Sidney’s lens after everything she went through. She got it all instead. A family. They capitalized on the reasoning of her return. The main thing going into that film or even the future films for me was always gonna be the reason she’s involved after four films and it’ll remain to be the biggest thing I need. And I need to be convinced of it when she is in a Scream film, if she ever is again. The victim, the star and survivor turned parent just walking into fire is ridiculous. Dewey dying was perfect, yet bittersweet. That was her brother. Blood couldn’t make them any closer. This draft is actually a cherry on top for me. It may as well be someone’s head canon. It’s not bad.
Yeah I would’ve loved to have seen Sidney being a mom with a cameo of Patrick as Mark. I love seeing Sidney with each movie progressively she steps out the victim box and grows into a fighter. In 4 she fully stepped out of that box going straight into action and again in scream 5 she’s not afraid anymore. I would’ve loved to have seen this deleted stuff in the movie.
People are saying Sidney’s return was unbelievable but it’s not like she’s a brand new wife or mother or like she didn’t give explanations for her return. Clearly, Neve liked the reasons. Ghostface wanted to make a legacy sequel which means you have to include the original cast. Not just keep Tara alive so Sam comes. He DID go after her through Dewey because it was the only other way. That was her brother. I wanna also keep in mind how she has multiple children. One is in a stroller so even if it still doesn’t work for people you can blame pregnancy and postpartum depression. The directors couldn’t get Kincaid or children for the movie. And through killing Dewey he could kill them with the new cast and make Samantha the new Cotton. Blamed for everything and people would believe it more so because she is Billy’s daughter. And we find out that although ghostface died the plan worked as shown in 6.

That should be Sidney's final moment in the franchise until they can figure out a smart way to make her central again. But it has to stop with the "ok ghostface is here, let's call Sidney" because it doesn't make sense anymore.

Like I've said before I miss Patrick's character of Mark so much I want to see him and Neve together on screen again. I actually think it was wise to not show her family. We saw a pram indicating the age of 1 of them. They didn’t indicate the age of the others so it’s open to include them as a reason to incorporate Sidney properly.

I think it would have been fun seeing her as a mom in a way, but it doesn’t really move the plot forward. On this, I give the writers a pass just to cut this scene. The other scene, they have zero reason not to have kept that in. Just a single line would have closed a chapter and made the entire movie better.
I always found Sidney’s role in Scream 5 to be super unbelievable. We are meant to believe that Sidney, a wife and new mother now, who has been targeted 4 times by serial killers, would just walk into Stu Macher’s house all nonchalantly when the killer wasn’t even after her this time? “Vengeance” for Dewey being murdered or not, no mother would do that just to help some teenagers she doesn’t even know; she would simply call the cops and head on back home to the safety of her husband and kids. They should have either had something different for her to do, or should have just left her out entirely imo. The worst part of the new Scream movies are the illogical, clunky ways that they try to integrate the legacy characters. The only one they didn’t do dirty imo was Dewey and he died before they could mess up his storyline.

Honestly I preferred her line "Dewey it's me of course I have a fucking gun" was way better and realistic than the one we got in the final cut, the line we got is just corny and cheesy but at least the delivery was great

I was actually pleased with her role in Scream 5 it closed her story in the right manner.
