  • I made this quick video to show you what I use around the house. Loud enough for me but not loud enough to make my family or neighbors angry. For around $60-70 bucks, you can get an excellent portable setup that's good for beginning guitar players as well as professionals looking to jam.

    Thank dude!! I’ve been jamming my amplug for six months and I didn’t even know I could do this. Plugged it into a $50 UE boom and fucking presto, sounds amazing. 😎👍👍👍👍

    Perfect. I just bought the vox metal one. Just want to have an easy plug In that's not a hassle to set up (I have to put my amp and speakers away, no room in my house to keep it set up)
    I have a jbl party box, jbl xtreme, and a jbl clip 3 that should go well with it.

      Yeah, those little AmPlugs are awesome, and being able to plug them into portable speakers make it a nice alternative to bigger non-room friendly amps.
      I've been suggesting this kind of setup to anyone starting out on guitar. Starting on acoustics is fine but I found it really hard. My fingers KILLED for the first few weeks/months. Starting out on electric is way easier and this setup allows almost any starter to afford it while having fun and feeling like a rockstar if/when they want to.

      I put the links on the description for the items I have. The Vox AC30 you can get from Sweetwater here:
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/amPlugAC30G2--vox-amplug-2-ac30-headphone-guitar-amp
      There are other versions, too: Metal, Blues, Clean, etc. Here is a good video showing you the different kinds

    Wish you played through it so we can hear what it sounds like through an external speaker. I tried running a cable from the "aux" port of the Amplug into a 1/8" > 1/4" converter and then ran that into the 1/4" guitar cable input of my Spark guitar amp. It didn't work though. There's an "aux" input on the back of the amp, though I'd expect that to be for hooking up to a computer or something, not receiving input in. Any ideas on why it won't play through a guitar amp speaker? Thanks.

      Hi Graphicartdude, thanks for your reply.
      You have a Spark amp? If so, I'm not sure why you would need the AmPlug since you can plug your guitar right into the Spark amp, no? Unless I'm not understanding your set up.
      I can try plugging the AmPlug into one of my amps to see what happens.

      chewybang Hey there. Thanks for the reply. I was just doing it wrong. I ended up running from the headphones port of the Amplug into the auxiliary of the Spark amp. It sounded good. Hope I’m doing that properly. Does it sound right to you? My Amplug has a crackle problem so I’ll have to buy a new one (the Ac360 version this time). It’s nice having portability and also the option being able to get that same tone when running through my amp.

      @@graphicartdude Yes, you are doing right. You want to plug out from the headphone jack from the AmPlug into your amplifier's input jack.
      I failed to see you had ran it from the aux of the AmPlug, my apologies. The Aux in the AmPlug is to plug in an MP3/music player so you can jam along with a song. However, the Spark has a better feature when it comes to that. How do you like that Spark?

    Did you record your iron swan cover with this setup!?

    • @chewybang
      @chewybang  5 років тому +1

      Actually, no. I was using a cheap Crate 15 watt amp I got when I first started playing 20+ years ago. I also used a Canon T3i camera and its audio, then I mixed it using cubase. So the sound on that sound superior. But I'm telling you, you'd be surprised at the sound you can get with this setup. I just really like the portability, accessibility and versatility of this.

    Thank you!! Can I connect a pedal?

    • @chewybang
      @chewybang  Місяць тому

      I don't think you can, unless you get real inventive and plug the guitar to a pedal, then from the pedal you use a male to female guitar cord to plug to the AmPlug.

      Found the solution, just plug the aux cable to phone port and it will work perfectly.
