Yeah, I also thought Sergio should have done better than 6th. And then he also seemed to be the happiest at the end with the exception of Nick 😅

I'm glad someone else mentioned the commentary. With arnold you expect that but man don't bring Amanda back. The bias was real and it felt like she was very unprofessional sighing, laughing, snarky comments.

Ngl this contest is really putting Sergio up there in terms of my favorite modern bodybuilders. He’s not the best but I love some of his poses.

@@mmaboxingclips2407 Rodriguez actually surprised me, he had probably the best fdb pose on that stage, the fdb shot that was compared here was highly unfavourable for him.
Just a few tweaks in the lower back, abs and delts and he should place better in the future.
You realized how much Sergio has improved when he hit the most muscular. For me top 3 minimum.

I had him beating kucklo and Ian in the finals but he looked so off in prejudging but got worse scores somehow in the finals. He should've gotten 4th by his awful prejudging but don't know why he got worse scores in the finals.
@@Kevin_Calzada Ian to me looked worse given the back detail he would have over him in both back poses, similar chest weakness in the side chest ,a better side triceps pose, the most muscular from what I saw Oliva would beat Ian in, ab and thigh would be close, front lat spread would go to Ian from how much he fills it out, and front double lets give to Ian. that still has Oliva most likely win both back poses, side tricep, and most muscular. as for the toss ups the most likely to win the ab and thigh is Oliva given the flow, pose, and not covering his abs. that's my take and at the very least he should've been in a top four callout.
Sergio was soft as clarts, no where near the top 3
I felt like Cedric was trying to draw in a productive conversation with Arnold but kept getting cut off. I love Arnold but his commentary was a bit out of touch considering there’s a whole division based on the idea of the physique he inspires. Open isn’t about grace and vacuums. It’s about freak factor, conditioning, and structure. I agree that calves really need to be payed attention to though.

Okay calves need paying attention to… but how would you compare them in the list? Next to biceps? Next to quads? Back? Chest? It’s okay demanding calves be considered but they aren’t a particularly prominent body part and are hidden in 90% of shots.

I completely agree on the commentary. Arnold had some funny moments but he seemed like an out of touch old man complaining. I thought Sergio should have beat Iain and Steve should have stayed in second.

Arnold clearly wanted Sergio in top 3 in telecast. He and Cedric kept talking about random things, exercise, dieting and random stuff.

Yeah fair judging once again despite being well known they gave him a fair judging, similar to Steve at Texas he came in to heavy and held water. In sergios case alot of water.

Justin's shoulders are not loyal - they are oil - and this is why he did not place higher imo. The shear size of these guys is jaw dropping. Calves do matter - look at Sergio legs - perfect!

This is why I dont even look to him on stage - obvious oil abusing spoils any good stuff he has. And he still manages to place high

Justin's shoulders and pecs are so full of oil, they should penalize that imo. I know the use of SEOs has become the norm but in his case it's really obvious and overdone

Imo Justin should have been 2nd, he was in really good condition, he didnt have a bad pose and he smoked everyone from the back (maybe with the exception of walker). Idk how Iian is placing so high with bloated stomach and terrible back.
Justin lost the front lat, side tri, abs and thighs and possibly the most muscular to Iain. He has a few bad shots

Yea Sergio probably got screwed on this one. But since he has the worst attitude in bodybuilding, I think it serves him right. Idk about you guys, but im not a fan of all the whining and drama....maybe he should have stayed off instagram and trained a bit more in that year and a half layoff.

Sergio was a clear 2nd place....how he got 6th is complete IFBB 💩. They also screwed his father ruthlessly after his 3 Olympia wins.

Another great commentary Tom always look forward to them. I think the placings were all spot on and also agree that Sergio could have been a place or two higher. Also Tom since you I've already done all the body part rankings have you ever done or thought about doing the most stacked Olympia lineups or Arnold lineups of all time.
I don't know you guys, but Justin's delts while relaxed look strange. Too much 'peaked', it does not seem as the muscle anatomy should be...
I really want to see Akim do good..he got everything to beat anyone...I mean anyone ...but his lack of conditioning is hurting him ...he should sleep over it well

Justin's arms during his most muscular reminds me of Markus Ruhl' arms in the same pose.....both of them have similar tricep development which looks flat with the biceps looking massive..

Sergio left arm is way smaller
Justin's upper body and wide shoulders are amazing but agreed they make his legs appear lacking. I guarantee they huge, but with such a big wide upper half they don't look it. Sergio Jr. looks the most balanced in this comparison too bad his conditioning wasn't sharp enough to push his smaller presence well ahead. Hence why I agree with the judges giving this to Justin. If Sergio Jr or Akim were crisp, dry, & sharp then Justin would have placed behind them both. Just IMO
Would love to have Tom and Dennis James with Shawn ray as commentators tbh. I don't want anyone else saying shit about bodybuilding cause all the other guys do the "back in my day" or explain bodybuilding. Hell even I could do GREAT commintary too

Very mediocre line up to be honest, as if only Nick took this Show seriously. Akim was probably the biggest disappointment of the night along with Ian finishing 2nd.
100% agreed Bro. Arnold needs to stop being a commentator. He is super annoying. Why would a 250 pounds BB do a vacuum pose. They created Classic Division for that. Arnold is an idiot.
It blows my mind how the judges gave the second place to IAN. I think they just try to keep CANADIAN Fans happy.
Great commentary Tom. I agree that Sergio should have been ahead of Akim - who was a significant disappointment compared to the expectation (hope) that he would replicate last year's O. I just don't like Justin's physique, and his delts are just not aesthetic. Impressive back and conditioning, but not a fan overall (no issue with him personally). So with that said, would have been happy with Sergio 4th.
Also found Arnold and Cedric to be quite irritating after a while. Too many questions from Cedric, not enough about the actual competitors, and Arnold droning on about the way things used to be - pointless. Sorry Arnie - love your stance on many things, esp. vaccinations, but not modern bodybuilding. Accept what it is, and enjoy Classic.
Akim looked off. Aceto mentioned after prejudging how he didn't look neither massive nor ripped. JFL. Probably wanted to punish Sergio's lack of condition, IDK how he looked IRL but Akim was also off.
Akim has the mass and the thickness. It just doesn't come across well on the stage most of the time.
@@JerkVegas86 To see thickness you need good lighting and video footage. I made a video on the 1995 mr Olympia and you can clearly see Dorian's thickness there. Why? Good footage and lighting. At the Arnold classic this year the stage was too dark and the camera quality not necessarely top notch so it's possible that Akim was better than what we saw. It's true however that Aceto said he looked off and he was there up close.

Arnold’s commentary was extremely out of touch even though it’s his show and has a points have weight if it was another era!
Justin Rodriguez looks terrible. Akim wasn’t in good condition. Sergio should definitely should have been 3rd or 4th. Kuclo didn’t look great and vailliere has no calves at all and his physique isn’t really that good. I agree with Robbie Robinson, bodybuilding is in trouble. It’s heading in a bad direction.
In the prejudging Sergio was not as sharp, he was kinda bloated and couldn't control his midsection, and he was not comfortable at all. In the finals though he fixed everything and he did deserved to at least overtake Akim. I even prefer him over Justin, but Justin was much more conditioned. And honestly I could easily see Justin second here, and the other move 1 spot down. But Sergio could not have places above 5th in any way here, he blew it in the prejudging.
I think Sergio has the proportions that I think most guys who want to be huge would actually want, as in he is more “classic” but he isn’t ugly-freaky in any way. I like Nick but he reminds me of a tank. Sergio looks like a super hero, he should be a movie star, which he should invest some time into pursuing, I think. I don’t lift weights but if I were really into lifting weights, Sergio’s look would be my motivation.
Arnold and Cedric where annoying as hell. Cedric asking Arrnold stupid questions and Arnold giving dumb answers. And completely not paying attention to the competitors posing routines. You could clearly see Denis wasn't happy about that.

I don't see what everyone else sees with Justin. People are so up his ass and he has a crappy physique. Wide blocky waist, unappealing looking upper body, mediocre legs, and nowhere even close to as good as victor was in the front double. But, he does have good back shots and a good side chest that highlights his lower half better. But damn his front lat spread and front double all draw my eyes away from looking at him. I don't get what everyone is seeing?!
Honestly maybe with the exception of J-rod they they should all have outclassed Iain, an they did, the judges just stole it from them. J-rod needs to tighten that condition, and lay off the growth vitamins. I'm sure he will be fine, but his abs just murky.
Arnold sounded a bit out of touch but he wasn't completely wrong. The only person who nailed it was Nick. Open bodybuilding is getting out of hand with these guys conditioning and physiques. Lui was right bubble butts and guts everywhere
You can't even see Akim's lats properly in the front lat spread due to the wack back drop lighting mess..what's wrong with these promoters 🤷
Sergio just looks flat out better then this callout and should've been compared to Ian based on what I saw. Both their side chests were weak, Oliva has better detail in his back that Ian in back lat spread and back double and similar leg development in the back with slightly less detail. He would win over Ian in the side tricep with his posing and apparent horseshoe. Ian would probably win the front lat spread. The ab and thigh would be close since Oliva has better ab detail than Ian in the still shot, but Ian has better detail in his legs. and most muscular well his crab looked damn good and his hands clasped looked better to me than Ian's given I just saw both videos back to back. That my opinion, but there should've been a top four with him in it. not to mention the calves as well.
Sergio can do better, but his attitude could improve before anything else, he often seen smoking weed and drinking, when the other guys are in to the bodybuilding lifestyle 24/7.. he got outworked despite his genetics
I would have liked to hear Arnolds opinions of the competitors as they posed. Numerous guys went up there and Arnold wasn’t even looking at them. I want contest commentary, with side notes thrown in, not completely ignoring competitors to discuss stupid shit.

I think Arnold did a great job in the comentary. It's the right spot to complain about some missing body parts. The only way to change it is to get a high puplic with mich ibterest in this. I loved it. He's right. Calfs are damn important and it must go back to stage bodybuilding. I wanna see muscle packed people from toe upwards. Not from Quad upwards. That's just not looking right. Also it is important to point out the vacuum factor - not just because of the fact to be able to hit it probably -- because it's a reminde to everyone not get to bloaded in the midsection area. Arnold knows what he's doing. This was the right place. And I hope he does this again and again to remind the people bout the importance of bodybuilding. The only way to change.

I still don't understand how posing routines are judged at Arnold. Sergio won the best posing award but he had 29 points on the scorecard. He should've the least points on that.
Sergio's hands clasped and crab most muscular is pretty great. He's got the mass and better aesthetics than 99% of the competition.
Sergio goodness improved a lot...if he keeps doing it...he will be top 2 for sure next year...he got size..he need more seperation and detailing

Sergio 5th. He needs more mass. He came in ok condition bc he needed size. He would of looked too small if conditioned. Needs more work for sure.
How no calves🍗🍗 Ian ends up higher placed than Sergio and Steve who has calves and Sergio was in better condition than Ian, is very questionable. Unless you like a man pulling his trunks up his crack and showing you his ass, instead of looking at a ballanced physique. Then maybe you will give it to Ian. Ian with those calves would definitely not make top 6 in Arnold or Dorrian Yates era.
