I'm a bipap user and the only mask I've been able to use so far is the AirTouch F20. I got the Evora today and tested it and I didn't get any leaks at all and it was fantastic but under my nose started hurting quite a lot after 2 hours. I tried 2 sizes and experienced the same issue. I would really appreciate if you could please give me advice. Do you think I'm making the upper straps too tight? I really don't want to have to go back to a full face mask I'm sick of getting redness on the bridge of my nose.
Did you double check the cpap face mask setting as full face a mask? I am new to this and found my straps need to be set jussst right, to not make my nose and cheeks ache, and not have mask leakage. I'm a side to side sleeper, and if on my back that my jaw drops. Laying on the pillow edge eliminated some of the leaks, as well. The cushion needs room to inflate, so play around a tiny bit to loosen one set of straps... see if improves. Play with it while happily awake, laying on your bed, moving around the pillow. Being in pain might be better to let it heal first, and then try again? Best wishes.
@@Xelerate1 I am almost a month on my first ever APAP with F&P hybrid face mask that covers my mouth and cushions under my nose. I am struggling to sleep with this thing on my face LOL and leaks are noisy. I tightened the straps too much and, man, my nose hurt before morning. Ouch. :)
@@beseez I guess I'm lucky that way haha I’m severely disabled I can't rip off the mask even if I wanted. Yeah I don't blame you I was supposed to use the machine in 2014 but refused to and couldn't get used to it until the start of 2020. My situation is a bit different I can't breathe without it even while I am awake and laying down.
Hello! We have an office in San Diego, CA, but we are internet-based. If you'd like to hop in, we are happy to take an order online and then allow you to pick up, per request. Since we are authorized ResMed retailers, but not ResMed themselves, we would not be able to advise on when the AirMini will receive any sort of upgrade. You are welcome to reach out to ResMed for that information!
Is it compatible with the Resmed Airsense 10 system? Such as the hose connection? I currently use the AirFit F30 hybrid and recently started using the F30i. I really liked the F30 but the strap started bothering my neck which is why I've started using the F30i. What I don't like about the F30i is the air blowing out of the front.
Hi, Edmond! Thank you so much for that detailed explanation as to what your troubles have been with the F30 and F30i masks you currently have. The Evora is absolutely compatible with a standard bedside unit, such as the AirSense 10, but is not compatible with the ResMed AirMini travel device. You are in luck with the 10! We hope it helps out with your leakage. :D
My first mask, allllmost one month in the learning curve here. I had a bad head cold when it arrived. It actually worked for me, through trial and error. The air forcefully blows out the front holes, creates noise against nearby objects/arm/sheet. I am an active sleeper, toss n turn side to side, with air leaks as my face pushes against the pillows. Again, this is just a learning curve. I'm not yet sleeping through the night. Get caught up in the hose. Random air leaks. But, my numbers are phenomenal. AHI less than 1.7 I plan on keeping this mask for those plugged up days.
She can give it a go! Our return policy is here if you need to take a look: lofta.com/pages/returns And here is the mask: lofta.com/products/fisher-paykel-evora-full-mask?_pos=2&_psq=evora&_ss=e&_v=1.0
I have used Resmed for about 10 years now and they leak and slip ALOT. Why do you think that yours' wouldn't leak around my nose or mouth? It drives me nuts and my quality of sleep suffers. now to mention drooling like a 6 month old baby constantly. How does the cost compare per mask and how often do you recommend replacing the masks?
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. :) Just to follow up on the drooling, this is usually a common occurence after getting onto therapy, because you are sleeping more restfully. I like to consider it a good problem to have, but I know this can be taxing on your comfort. We can try to figure this out together! Which mask are you currently using? To answer your question about why this mask would not leak around the mouth or the nose- unfortunately that cannot be promised unless you try it out. All masks can have issues with leakage, but where the leak is happening and why is different from user to user due to facial structure, if the user has facial hair, which body position you prefer, etc. Once you let us know which mask you are currently using, we can start to narrow down your issues together! For replacement, the silicon cushion that covers the mouth and goes under the nose should be replaced every 3 months or so (unless you notice that it starts to wear down before then, which can happen based on how tight the mask is fastened to your face!) Memory foam cushions should be replaced monthly. You should replace the entire mask system (straps, cushion, etc) every 6 months. The Evora full mask can be purchased at Lofta for $149, but prices can range from 99 to $169 depending on the mask itself and the amount of coverage. Nasal/pillow style masks can run for about $99 since they are smaller.
@@loftasleep you MUST have brown eyes! So much nonsense in one reply. I have been using a CPAP since 1993. Only in the past 6 or 8 years, as megs. have made cheaper and lighter masks have I had such a problem. It is due to air leakage. That is largely due, as far as I can ascertain, due to lightweight, poor my made cheaper hook and loop fasteners that are too weak. As someone who has used CPAP machines for over 25 years, quality now is terrible, on every part of the CPAP system. It is NOT due to sleeping so well, like a baby, by any stretch of imagination. Today's machimes, HOSES, and MASKS are cheaper by far. The fasteners are cheaper and weaker than they need to be be durable to do the damn job. From what you say about yours, does not engender confidence that they would be any better built or strong enough for the job of softly fitting , but then be softly, fitting, yet strong, enough to hold it in place as,we,all move around while we all move during normal sleep. That calls for better hoses and better built, masks with stronger fasteners. Tall order, but that is how CPAP MACHINES, HOSES, & MASKS users to be made. So we know it is possible. Manufacturers need to get back to what works and stop cheap, lightweight equipment. Get back to what worked, get away, from gimmicks.
Hello! Thank you and great question. You can use this mask with the Luna 2. We were told by the 3B reps who produced the Luna that any mask that is not a 3B brand should be indicated as Mask Type "other" in your patient menu on the device. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
I love the evora full face CPAP mask😊
I've been using this mask for a while. I rotated with the viterra both are good mask and no leaks
